Fuji - Inside of menu: entrees. I also got an English version so I could understand it better.

It's not that this place is dirty, on the contrary. It's not that the menu is terrible, actually…read moreit's pretty good. And, the food isn't awful, actually it's satisfactory for all you can eat style sushi. So, why on earth would this place garner 2 Stars? Easy, as a solo traveler I have found my money is the same color as everyone else's. So when service is denied, or altered, my response is a heartfelt sigh! Here at Fuji, I really should have moved on when I came I and sat down. The staff got in a curfluffle that a solo eater sat in a table for two. On of the staff members directed me upstairs for solo eaters. There is was all alone, eating by myself. Shown a ringer to get staffs attention. Talk about feeling like a pariah. How can a restaurant effect my self esteem......sadly it just did. And, even worse the food is not bad, a little heavy on the rice, but places like this don't want you to eat to much. This won't happen again!!!!

HOURS: The evening hours are posted as opening at 7:30pm, but as someone else commented, they are…read morenot open until 8:30pm (or whenever they're ready to let customers in. If you're wondering what that means, we showed up just after 8pm, and were told they wouldn't be ready until after they--the employees--were finished eating). CUSTOMER SERVICE: Because my party and I were the first to arrive after opening, we received prompt service. They got us drinks, gave us warm, wet towels to clean up, and soon came over to take our order. However, as more people arrived (and it was quite busy for a Thursday) we were somewhat forgotten. FOOD: The food is delicious! I've eaten at a lot of Japanese restaurants, and enjoyed the food very much. The sashimi (raw fish) was the best of all we tried. The miso soup was hot (temperature), but salty. The rice in the sushi was a little too hard. A lot of the dishes were prepared in the same soy sauce-, garlic-type of sauce, but delicious nonetheless.

I love the concept of this establishment which incorporates not just a fast-food joint but also an…read moreAsian supermarket (surprisingly, the prices are not that much different to the Asian supermarkets beside the train station), an area dedicated to live cooking demonstrations and a charging point for your all important tech gadgets. It is located in the Main Train Station where the long-distance ticket office used to be. I can't for the dear life of me understand why they have covered up the original mosaic ceiling; they should have used it as a feature and it would have given the place more character instead of its modern clinical feel. There is no table service so to order you need to go to the till, grab a drink from the fridge (or shop), order and pay on the spot. They'll give you a round contraption with sounds and lights which will flash and ring once your order is ready for collection. I love this system, it is much better than the typical tannoy system where they call out your name, normally incorrectly. Taking into the account the kind of place you are in: do you really expect to dine on high-end quality sushi? Most probably not; if anything you'd expect something more akin to low-quality run-of-the-mill fare. The food may not be mindblowing or give you a foodgasm (food orgasm) but I can assure you it is much better than the typical Japanese food you can expect to find in many of the Asian Buffet-Style restaurants in the city. Also, it is cheap as chips! As it's open all day, it's a perfect place to grab something to eat when everywhere else is no longer serving food and especially good for tourists who are not used to Spanish eating times. I definitely recommend the gyozas, samosas and octopus uramaki with kikos (toasted corn kernels). On the other hand, I can't recommend the soups as the stocks are not flavourful enough but I guess it'll do to warm your cockles, if it ever gets cold!
