Sushi Jiro is the new sushi train game in town. Conveniently located just steps away from the Box Hill Central station, inside the ever busy Asian Mall (in South Precinct). We came here for casual lunch and got seated immediately with no fuss. The design of this place is somewhat minimalist with a touch of fun: open kitchen, mostly counter seating around the conveyor belt.
Sad to say, the sushi selections here was quite limited, quality not the best. They would also send out repetitive items, with some of our requested sushi not being available that day *Sad*. Out of the few we tried, my top picks would be the crab w/ mayo as well as the seared scallops. Plump and spot-on!
Pricing was decent, different $$ for each colour plate sushi. Not sure if they have Happy Hours going on, but we came after 3 p.m. and they cut off the pricing to just $3.80 each, regardless.
Service was all over the place, seems like they are still working out some kinks. Not my favorite spot to sushi face stuffing, but again, I just wished there were more options in the area. read more
