While I generally find the rodizio option far too filling -- they bring tons of small plates without end -- I have to say my experience at Sushi Hall was fantastic. First off, Rafael, the front-of-house manager, was the kindest and most welcoming host. He walked us through the menu and came across as super helpful without being overbearing. Through out our entire meal, he'd walk by just to check on us and drop off non-menu items (making us feel pretty special).
So service was some of the best I've had in SP and the food was up there too. Not to mention it was only R$59 per person for dinner. Freshness is often the big question when it comes to rodizio-style meals, but Sushi Hall was on their A-game. Everything that arrived was freshly prepared and the fish was really great. The Dorito chip topped with salmon was my favorite (likely because anything on a Dorito chip is awesome). I also loved the tuna temaki (without cream).
To boot, there was a guy playing acoustic guitar. As for the ambiance, I think there's a mismatch between the reception area (which makes this place feel loungy and Buddah Bar-esque) and the dining room. I found the dining area to take a different course with it's bright lights and less-loungey aesthetic. If they could extend the vibe from the reception area to the dining area, I think it'd make for a sexier meal. I recommend this place for large groups and families. read more
