Solo travel, first timer in Australia. Staying at the RACV Royal Pines and looked around for restaurants not in the hotel itself. I don't enjoy extravagant meals when dining alone so sushi conveyor belt was perfect. You pretty much sit yourself, start grabbing plates and eating, and then walk up to the front to pay. There's also a menu you could order from but I didn't.
There wasn't a whole lot of selection; or I should say, if you take away all the non-fish there wasn't a whole lot. For some reason they had a whole bunch of rolls with either katsu or (seemingly) chicken teriyaki. The rolls I had, which were all fish except for the California roll, were all spot on though. The ginger and wasabi are from packets also delivered via belt. So they left something to be desired. Overall though it's good enough that I'd probably go back, especially given the limited walkable choices from the hotel. read more
