TL;DR - Quirky shop and cafe, and a brilliant addition to Prestwich…read more Another sign of the resurgence of Prestwich sees the opening of the Nonsense store on Bury New Road. It's not a huge unit, but it's neatly laid out and rather than trying to sell a bit of everything, they've got a nicely curated selection of items. In the window and along the left hand wall are a huge array of succulents and air plants plus various options for planting them - pots, vases and hanging mounts. The table in the centre hosts various ornaments and trinkets, and the right hand wall features various gifts including a section dedicated to children. Also, we now have a place in Prestwich for picking up the latest copy of Monocle! Perhaps the nicest part of it all is that everything is very reasonably priced. The rear of the store is a coffee shop - family friendly with a large wall covered in chalk board paint so that the kids can entertain themselves. I've not had chance to try it out myself yet, but plan to do so very soon.

Array of Blossom's motto of adding a personal touch to their service really is true. It was easy enough to specify the flowers and price (around £40) that I wanted to spend and they made up a bouquet specially for me. I never got to see it obviously as I wasn't around but my mum definitely liked the surprise and there were no difficulties with delivery on Mother's Day as I've actually had in the past with other florists. Get it right: like these guys. Their shop on Bury New Road is cute with small potted plants too, ready to take home. They would also be fabulous for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and christenings - all floral services which they offer.

Jemma helpfully reommended a plant arrangement with some orchids and I took a shine to the style of the Pure and Simple arrangement on the website. Jemma took it from there and created a truly dazzling arrangement with fresh flowers on the day of delivery and which were received with delight. It makes such a refreshing change to see real creativity and flair in this industry rather than just seeing the same old arrangements trotted out. Will certainly use again.
