We haven't been to this location since it changed to Surfside Charlie's. I had heard about a Prime Rib special for tonight. We walked in and we're told to seat ourselves. The table we chose was extremely wobbly. I didn't see a kids menu. Hubby ordered a salad and I shared chicken strips with my kiddo. We weren't told of any specials. My friend and I went to Surfside Charlies and they were having trivia night. What a blast. Everyone was so fun and the crowd was great, but the Patty Melt!!!!! OMG!!! it was the best I have ever had. I live in Charlotte, NC and I think it's only 3 1/2 hours away but I would travel just to get that Patty Melt. Good job and when I come back down I'll be sure to dine in again. Tried Surfside Charlie's for the first time, and we're so glad we did! It had just stopped raining, so we were able to sit outside on the cozy patio. The pretzels are AMAZING! I've never had one like it. We also ordered the French Dip and the Steak and Garlic Flatbread (can't remember the name of it), in which both were absolutely delicious. Nothing on the menu was over $20, which makes this an affordable dining experience. Our waitress, Jessica, was very kind and attentive. We can't wait to come back! We came in late on a Saturday after a live music performance. Staff was extremely friendly. The manager & owner came out and made sure we were taken care of. Food was great and the menu was extensive but reasonably priced, a good mix of everything. Our experience was 10/10 for food, ambience, and late night food. We went with friends around 6:00pm on a Friday and the restaurant was quite busy but the service was very good. Our waitress was super friendly and took care of us promptly. We shared a deep fried pizza app that was terrific and then enjoyed burgers and various sandwiches all of which got a positive response but the highlight was a prime rib dinner that our friend thought was great and a steak at just $22.00. One minor gripe was the music which was pretty loud and made conversation hard but notwithstanding that, the singer was really very good; just wind the volume back a notch or two! My husband saw an advertisement for this restaurant on Facebook stating that they had a special tonight with crab legs. I called up earlier today and was told that they didn't take reservations, but not to worry, they always would have enough and would be offering this special anytime after 4 pm. We called friends and took off from home at 5 pm all excited to get our crab legs. Imagine our disappointment and frustration when we got to the restaurant and found out that not only did they only have limited staff working, but after waiting 45 minutes after being seated to be asked for our order, and then being told that they had run out of the special. We went ahead and ordered sandwiches, since by that time we would have had to wait at any other restaurant, and it still took over 45 minutes to get them. Would not recommend this restaurant due to the food quality and service! Will not go back! read more

So this was my first time visiting this establishment. I can say the service was horrible. I sat at the bar and Frank brought me my food, my glass was sitting close to the inside of the bar to get another drink. Needless to say he dropped my food and proceeded to sit at the other end of the bar talking to people that he stated "were reps" and were not even sitting at the bar. I call BS as they sat there laughing and hugging as customers were waiting to be taken care of. Two ladies sitting at the bar next to me were trying to figure out who was going to drink which drink since he brought the wrong drink to them. As I sat there for 15 minutes eating my food without a drink I said excuse me, can I have a box and my bill. I would suggest if anyone wants good service that they stay far away from this establishment. Paying customers should take priority, apparently they did not get that memo at Surfside Charlies. read more

We were looking for a new burger place and saw an ad for Surfside Charlie's. It's located where Jelly Belly was. Not crowded. Burgers are hand made, fresh meat, not frozen and really tasty. Came with French fries, or a side of cucumber salad which was also very good. We will be back. read more

Both were pretty good, we sat out side so the service was a little slow but the waitress made up for it with being attentive . The music was a little loud but when we asked they turned it down. Food was Bland and service was really bad. Our bill was $70 for some wings, burger, and chicken tenders, and a app of southwest egg rolls. Southwest egg rolls were burnt, and the wings were a mix of regular sweet that were burnt. Cheese for cheese fries ad the consistency of milk. As a pub it is fine, but as a restaurant it lacks much. The menu is limited, most items are OK but nothing to write home about. Like other restaurants there wasn't an abundance of staff. What staff that was there didn't have the knowledge of the products offered. We were disappointed at best. Not high on our preference list. Too much competition to perform at mediocre levels. This place has potential. The service is pulling it back. We had an extremely disorganized waitress, this alone may have been why we were waiting for our appetizers and refills. The menu, while being priced right was somewhat limited and leaned more towards a lunch menu than dinner. What we ordered was very tasty, and enjoyable. This is a fairly new place, I am willing to try back in a couple months and see how it goes. we waited 45 minutes for a table for a party of 5. then, we waited 30 minutes to place our order. 4 order hamburgers and 1 ordered flat bread pizza. Hamburgers arrived but no pizza. we waited and waited and finally flagged our waitress down. owner came out and to.d us the oven was never turned on and it would be. while until they could get the pizza out. we waited a very long time for our checks and then for our credit cards to be returned. all in all, as locals we will not return. food was good, tho. read more

Still extremely new so I don't want to be quick to judge. Decor is super nice and service was good, I ordered the shrimp marinara and the shrimp were undercooked. Pasta itself was yummy though. I also ordered the Chicago Dog to go for my dad at home (we are from chicago and love them), however when I opened it it resembled nothing of a chicago dog!! He still said it tasted good but that is not a Chicago dog lol!! Will definitely come back eventually but it's still very new and kitchen might need some work on the food. read more
