Locals are always crammed into this place during the high traffic lunch and dinner hours, so you may not get a seat right away. Awesome place if you're gluten free because all the soups (unless noted on the board) are gluten free and many are dairy free and there are options for vegans and vegetarians as well as meat eaters! They just opened another small location in Vorderes Schwachhausen but it has limited seating compared with the original. The only thing that could be better about this place is if they extended their somewhat limited hours!!

I ordered the potato soup which was amazing! Also had been looking for sauerbraten all week and they had it. Unfortunately it wasn't cooked long enough so it was a bit tough. Quite music, low lighting, friendly English speaking staff but a bit elusive as we came at the beginning of busy time so she was running around hoping others. The food-awesome! My husband had the schnitzel and loved it. We all had the escargot that was delicious. I had the local special (first one on the menu) that translates to eel. It was marinated or "cooked" like ceviche is made point is it's not fried/baked etc and more like sushi consistency with sour cream based salad on top and yummy fried potatoes. It's wasn't fishy and I loved it. It's he nearer dish in the pic. One app, one beer, water and entrees was 43.60euros. If we're back in Bremen we'd go back.

Since we were looking for a dinner spot, we decided that we would check it out. Thankfully there was no wait, and we were seated very quickly. The lofted ceilings and the huge wine caskets were very cool and were fun to photograph. We asked if we could sit in one of the private booths, which they very kindly allowed. It got to be super stuffy in the booth and I would not recommend dining with a large group in the booths, but it was cozy and romantic for just me and my husband. Food was just okay, I felt like everything was a bit too salty for my palate, but there was a great assortment of land and sea options.

Not sure - all other places in Schnoor were very friendly. The food was a strong 1 out of 5: lukewarm schnitzel with McDonald's type french fries - not something German food lover would expect. Beer is nothing special as well. Sorry but Avoid!

I had the North Sea fish soup while my husband had the fish bisque. Both were amazingly tasty. The fish soup was light and contained chunks of fish and 2 large tasty shrimps. The shrimp bisque had lots of North Sea shrimps and was very creamy. We also tried the fish with North Sea shrimp dish. While the shrimps were very tasty, the fish was covered in a lot of batter and was underwhelming. Our son had the full platter traditional meat dish. He thoroughly enjoyed that as well. Everything was flavorful and delicious. The ambience was cozy and very charming. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed dining here.

In addition to being a cafe, I believe the owner makes his/her own liquor. It was a ginger- lemon-honey liquor..like a schnapps. On a cold day, like the evening I came in for the first time, it was the best remedy to warm myself up. The waitress let us try it, complimentary. I regret not buying a bottle to take home.
