I've visited this massage therapist three or four times before, with my last visit being in September of last year. Back then, I sensed a shift - she seemed distracted, only half-interested. Despite this, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, attributing it to a possible off day or external factors.
Previously, her massages were effective, targeting muscle tissue with a degree of pain that was ultimately beneficial. However, my recent and final visit was a stark departure from the quality I once experienced. It felt as though she was determined to inflict pain rather than address muscle issues. While I can tolerate discomfort, her approach felt unnecessary, spiteful, and deliberate. Regrettably, she won't be receiving a second chance, and I hope this review sheds light on her unprofessional behavior, which I find concerning.
First, the positives:
The environment is clean, warm, and conducive to relaxation.
Negatives:
The therapist demonstrates moodiness and a lack of attentiveness to specific muscle aches or addressing root causes. Never once has she inquired about areas needing focus. Instead, it feels like a standard massage regimen that has deteriorated significantly. It's as if she aims to cause discomfort rather than alleviate it.
She now employs her forearm and elbow along the spine, rather than targeting soft tissue with her hands as before. This new technique feels lazy and potentially harmful to muscle health.
Her approach involves unnecessarily digging fingers into sensitive areas, like the armpit, resulting in bruising without any discernible benefits.
In summary, what was once a deep tissue massage has devolved into something resembling a bone massage. I would have left feedback on her site, but given her likely response, it's doubtful it would remain visible.
It seems her massages now hinge on her mood, leaving me with the impression that perhaps she's disinterested or reluctantly performing her duties. Unfortunately, that's exactly how it comes across.
