First of all, this is a grocery store too. There is an 88 cent aisle that you can shop at and get lots of grocery item for only 88 cents. I did shop down this aisle and of course I bought some thing. At the check out, the checker rang up $1.04. I thought a dollar bill would buy my groceries. So, I decided to put the one dollar bill back in my bill fold and started to pull out a $20 bill instead and that's when cashier said don't worry about it and just give me the $1 bill. Anyway, I didn't expect this and was quiet surprised. This is above average customer service. However, it's what happened in the deli is what brings it back down. I asked the deli lady how much were the hot tamales. She says $6 and they were made here today. Then, she decides to pick up the hot tamales with her bare hands to show me. There's no telling where she has these hands. Furthermore, I didn't ask her to pick them up, I just asked how much they were. Anyway, I did not buy anything from their deli after seeing this. Overall, none of the food looked good enough for me to spend my money. I wished I had taken a picture. It just wasn't very appealing. In summary, the grocery store gets 4 stars from while the deli gets 2 stars. Therefore, they get 3 stars if you averaged it out.

I love Red beans & Rice. I grew up eating red beans & rice. I will eat red beans & rice till I die. I make it all the time at home also. Now, growing up, we used the Local Poche Market sausage, 3015 Main Hwy Ste A, Breaux Bridge, LA. The very best on the planet. However, sometimes it is hard for moi to get over there, so I will use the Fischer's Texas made "Andouille sausage" or the Alabama "CONECUH Spicy & Hot sausage" for moi red beans & rice. This is the only sausage I will use. Moi top 3 of all time. I write about this all the time. This is my life's work people. I have tried all. Others pale in comparison, until I tried the local Mississippi sausage, made in Magee, Mississippi. OuiOui. Last year we were staying at the State Park nearby, came to this walmart to pick up some crab & we grabbed some of the Mississippi sausage to try bc I was in a pickle, forgot my Poche's. yuck. OuiOui. So, back at the StatePark moi made me famous red beans & rice with the local Mississippi sausage.. This is what happened: I have been married to Sir Hubbers for over 20 years, he does not eat Red Beans & Rice. He is not a pirate mate, he is "Captain Sir Hubbers" only the best Long horns, smash burgers, pearls of the sea & Pizza can tempt his tasty posh tasty taste buds.. Until, he ate me Legendary Mississippi Sausage Red beans & Rice. OuiOui. Now, Sir Hubbers is on a rager, this is all he wants, "Moi Mississippi Sausage Red beans & rice! haha." We might just buy the company now, soon as we find the infamous Billy Bowlegs Treasure! Soon laddies soon! Arrrrr! :)... Indianola is a small town & this walmart is very small, but it has great inventory as there is not much else in the area. I'm really grateful that walmart now carries some local products as I may have never discovered the Mississippi sausage that has changed Sir Hubbers life forever & mine too. Clean, very well stocked and in surprisingly good shape, we visited the restrooms first and after washing hands, did a food shop to make up a dinner in the van. A baguette, some cheese, onion, tomatoes and a pot of ready-to-heat soup. Very simple but inexpensive and easy to prepare. Paying for it at the self-checkout was easy. We parked off to the side next to a semi that also spent the night. Other than some people leaving Walmart loudly until around 10pm, it was quiet and we were undisturbed.
