He called ahead of time when the job he was working on was running a bit late, and I appreciated that. When he arrived, he installed the lock skillfully and swiftly. At one point he adjusted my door so that the lock would engage properly - it's the original front door to a 1947 house - I'm sure either the door or the door frame has settled a bit. He gave me a brief tutorial on using the lock, and left the small owner's manual with me. Excellent, professional job. I love the lock (Schlage FE595 Latch type BE365 Deadbolt)! It locks keylessly from both inside and out with ease. There's a key if you forget the code. There are codes (two preset and you can create more) if you lose the key. I bought this lock so I can give contractors an entry code if I need work done; I can delete the code when their work is done. In 2015 Freedom Locksmith Services (Gary's son Kyle) at my request installed a more secure deadbolt on my exterior back door when I replaced the original door (a traditional one with square of glass at top) with a fifteen light French door. The door faces a secluded yard, and I decided to upgrade the lock proactively. They worked with my tight schedule, installing the lock a few hours after contractor completed the door installation. Kyle discussed with me the various options, and I selected one. The installation went smoothly. It's been a year, and the lock has worked out well.

One day, I Googled locksmiths, and since I am not in Maine on a weekday often, I asked if he could come out that day on short notice, and he obliged. As I watched him work, he went above and beyond what I initially called him for: A broken lock. He realized that the weather seal was pulled out, and he fixed that. Then he made sure that the holes for the locking mechanism were moved since the house had settled, and then he also fixed the lock itself. The door has never worked so well since I met my girlfriend, and went to her house for the very first time over a year ago. Gary goes above and beyond, AND knows what he is doing.

Anyways, the only struggle I had was trying to figure out the hours online -- they weren't posted anywhere so I finally went and their hours are 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Key was quick, easy, and affordable. Hard to find an actual person to help cut because the minute key machines suck! They always leave terrible edges!
