The tour was really well done and they provided a bit of background on the author. It helps to have read any of the WIlla Cather novels or seen the Oh Pioneers! mini series. My high schooler had not had American Literature yet, and without context for the tour was a little impatient of all the mysterious literary references. But seeing the town on foot with homes and downtown typical of that time was still interesting to a suburbanite without prior exposure midwest small town life..
