The talent of the barbers is hit and miss. Half of them are fair at best…read more Rafael is a really good barber, also the only one who can be booked online (and apparently the only person there who arrived in the digital age). But he gave me the worst cut I had in years last time and didn't even apologize (that was the dealbreaker for me)......after I tipped him 25-30% for years. Screwing things up happens, but then own it and apologize dude. A beard trim is $30 and a haircut is $40 which is fair for a good barber, but the overall shop experience is really unprofessional. The staff is loud and unfriendly, not greeting after I went there for 10 years. An overwhelmed speaker system blasts bad 90s rap and other random dated music. Combined with the yelling of the staff it's like acoustic water boarding. So I'll take the $900 I spend on a barber a year somewhere else. If you are looking for time travel to the past, bad customer service and lousy music, then this place is right for you. If not ...there are a ton of cooler, better options within a mile radius. Just skip Oak Cliff Barbers.

Not sure who exactly answered the phone but they didn't even take my name when I made the appointment, which worries me even more; the gentleman just said, "see you then." I arrived around 15 min before my scheduled appointment. Let Miles know I called earlier about a 6pm appointment and he directed me to take a seat. I was further worried because the shop was full of people waiting for cuts and here I am, saying I have an appointment, not knowing who I talked to earlier. He took one more client before me and then took care of me. At first this might seem like a negative post but despite my initial apprehension about the experience, Miles cleaned off his chair and showed me to his chair. This gentleman took my description with what I wanted my hair to look like and followed it to a "T." On top of the art he was performing on my hair, we related pleasantly in conversation. He is a professional and compassionate man whose passion for his craft shows in his work. Next time I find myself Dallas with a feathery and overgrown head of hair, I'm, without a doubt, returning to Miles at Shaving Bar on Lamar.
