This marks the fifth time in about two months, that Superior has failed in its weekly pickup. Usually it's just the recycle cart they forget to empty. This week, both the trash and the recyclables still sit at my curb. Last week they credited me $13, to cover two weeks of failed service. Really? I pay them $175 every three months. Pretty sure they're the most expensive hauler of the bunch, and they had missed (at that time) four weeks. The math does not add up. read more

They fail to pick up our recycle about 75% of the time. We're on week 2 of no recycle pick up. Have no clue where we can even haul this thing to as it's overflowing and we can no longer fill it. Yet, we'll still get billed a recycle fee, but can't recycle. Do better Superior!!! read more

This company does not care about their customers. The disposal service is rude and neglects picking up our trash at least once a month. The drivers have destroyed the trash bins and we were laughed at when I called in. Today the wheel was broken off the bin, preventing it from rolling now. Superior Disposal has constantly given myself and my wife problems. They do not pick up trash on time, they refuse to work with you, if there is a billing issue, they give no notice. This is as of Weds, 11-20-2013. The women you deal with when you call customer service are of no help, whatsoever. They refuse to correct any issue THEY cause. This is the second week in a row they have not picked up my waste, even though payment was rendered. I am filing a better business bureau complaint, and will be taking them to small claims court to get a refund. read more

Superior is the trash service I chose when Deffenbaugh screwed up my billing and were beyond rude about it. Sorry, Deffenbaugh, but you have to treat your customers better, especially when you make a mistake. So Superior is currently our trash service and does a fine job overall. They seem to be honest about what they do. They actually do send different trucks around to pick up recycling versus regular trash or yard waste. Unfortunately, I know that Deffenbaugh has been caught in the past not actually recycling recyclable trash, and I do feel confident that Superior is not doing that which makes me very happy as a tree hugger. But as a tree hugger, I have been loathe to give up my old trash cans that are perfectly functional. I have two of the smaller "retro" trash cans for "regular" trash and it's rare when they're both full because we recycle so much, but when they are both full, sometimes they don't empty them both. I think we're supposed to get one of the great big rolling trash cans instead of our two small ones, but again, it's my issue as a tree hugger and we'll likely have to give in at some point. Maybe they can recycle the old trash cans? read more

I cancelled service with Superior earlier this year after selling my house. Like they instructed me to, I left my bins on the curb for them to pick up on the day they specified. I moved out and that was that. I hadn't heard anything from them so I assumed they picked them up and everything was fine. Six months later I get a call from a collections agency about a charge for trash and recycling bin replacement from Superior. I asked how that was possible and she stated that they had tried to reach me by letter (leaving a note on the front door of my old address). I sold this house so obviously I hadn't seen any of these notes and it's not the new resident's responsibility to address this. So, I called Superior who initially explained that there was nothing they could do until they got the bins back. I asked how we could resolve this, since it was out of my hands at this point (had I known about this 6 months ago I could have had my realtor get in contact with the new resident). They were going to escalate to a manager. Great. After several calls and working with multiple individuals, I was under the impression that if they hadn't heard anything from the new tenant over the weekend, they were most likely just going to wave the fees because they understood the situation was out of my hands (even the collections agency agreed with this). I waited around Monday and never received a call. I called and left messages three times that week, but no one ever answered the phone and no one ever called me back. I finally get a call back from the collections agency who spoke with them and informed me that they decided they still could not waive the charges until the bins were returned. Livid, I've been trying to get a hold of them for over a week now, but I have received no response. I've called and left countless messages. This charge being in collections is taking a toll on my credit and Superior has completely blown me off. Still trying to get this resolved, but 10/10 would NEVER do business again. read more

We have had this service for over a year and had no issues compared to the competitors in the area. On Wednesday this week, I noticed a truck stop and the men, who had a trailer full of trash and recycle containers, stopped. I thought they were doing repairs on containers as I looked out and saw the removing wheels from our containers. Nope - they took our cans without notice! After a few calls with no help and e-mails to their customer service without reply, my wife found on their website that they closed our account. We can no longer recommend these guys. I did hear afterwards they were bought out. Just noticed their website is now gone. Trashy trash service apparently took themselves out. read more

I have had nothing but horrible experience with this company this last year. I have had 4 missed pick ups, and only one gets refunded. I have been waiting over a month for call back regarding the dissatisfaction I have had with customer service on phone and the service I am paying for. Called back this morning to cancel my service and find out when I am to receive the credit....will be on next bill that is $10 more because they decided to increase the price without informing me. I am not paying this bill, therefore wont' receive a credit, cancelling the service and will not be paying for them to come pick up their bins. I was tired of the poor service Deffenbaugh was giving me, leaving bins that had fallen over and only picking up half of what was in them. I went with Superior/A1. I had been with them in the past and don't know why I left. Price is great and service is outstanding. My bins are always empty and where I left them. My bill is always accurate and whenever I need to call in to speak with someone they are above and beyond friendly and helpful. read more

Customer Service was horrible, they take no responsibility for their own actions. They did not pick up our trash or the trash can when we moved after they quoted us a time for the final pickup. They then fined us for the trash can after we moved away from the property and had to abandon the trash can at the residence. Seems like a scam to me to get more money when we had to cancel our service. read more

I would be very careful dealing with these folks. My parents died and they continued to bill their account. I guess you have to give 30 days notice to stop service. I sent a check with a note explaining the sitaution and gues what? they lost it. Then I called and was told I was being abusive. If you want customer service do NOT choose them!!! Attempted to contact them about my bill for 3 weeks through calls and emails and never received a response. I finally emailed them to cancel my service and they didn't even call to attempt to see what was wrong or what could be done. Didn't get my trash picked up for the last 4 weeks I had them and then they sent me to collections for $31.98 for the last few weeks of "service" as in the last few weeks that they never picked up any trash!! The pick ups are fine when they pick up, they don't knock over the cans. However, In the short two years we've been with them they've skipped our street several times. The first time they were great. A man showed up that evening in his F-150 to collect the few houses on the street. The second time (three weeks later) they showed up two days after pick up day. The next month they missed again Katelyn (operator) told my wife she would note our account that we hadn't had our trash out on time. Of course, we imagined we were doing them the favor by pointing out they FORGOT THE ENTIRE STREET! The last incident is my own oversight in which I didn't send out a payment in time. Rather than contact me the skipped my house for two weeks. My payment eventually arrived and paid themselves for two weeks of doing nothing. The single star is for the rude customer service. Katelyn seems to dislike her customers even more than her job. I don't like to be condescended to when making inquiries to a faulty service that I am paying for. read more

Extremely disappointing service!! Problems with pick up 2 out of the three weeks that we have had service = horrible reflection on the business. Called Superior after the second issue in three weeks time to be told our trash was not picked up because "it was not out in time." Funny how it was out since 7 a.m., as long and longer than many of our neighbors, yet theirs was not picked up until after 3 p.m. and ours was just skipped over. Frustrating when "excuses" are made for a service we are paying for instead of just making it right. The dishonesty and lack of willing to make it right is more disappointing when paying for a service and results in simply looking for another disposal service and recommending to others NOT to use Superior Disposal. After speaking with the office at Superior I found it is ok for the pick up people to open your trash container and remove the top bag, carry it to the truck and leave any bags remaining in the container. This is to save time according to the office. They have lost my business. read more

I have always had great service with Superior! When I have called in for assistance I have always had a professional response. Jennifer is especially both professional & friendly! Once when I called to let them know their recycle truck had not stopped at my home, the customer service representative said she would check. She quickly called me back to let me know their route changed up a bit & they would definitely be by my home. She said it didn't make sense to her, but it did to me. You see, I know where they turn around in my neighborhood & sure enough there was road/curb construction under way. If I could rate less I would. Our trash didnt get picked up the day of the solar eclipse and when we called to find out why both my Husband and I left them messages to hear back. After finally getting them on the phone a week and a half later they claimed to have left a voicemail detailing the reason. They said their driver claimed we didn't have our trash out that day by 745. I saw my Husband take it to the curb on the day of the eclipse at 7am as we were preparing to leave for MO like most of the population. After much back and forth the calltaker said their supervisor kaitlyn would contact us. She did but proceeded to present the worst customer service I've ever heard of threatening to cancel our service for pushing to have the week that didnt get picked up credited to us. She was rude and uncommonly unprofessional. She said their records of what the driver said doesnt go back that far. We also advised our recycling got picked up the same day....how could they pick up what was not out??? She kept being rude and unapproachable. Had she called us in a more timely manner she could've seen the comment herself. Instead she treated us like liars and made comments that we were attempting theft of service.
