Heavenly Faithful Concrete - Bottom of doors

Heavenly Faithful Concrete

I had a friend recommend them to me, but got burned by this company. The owner, Terry Waye, was not…read moreupfront with me about the total cost and not only did he adjust his price higher, but didn't bother to tell me the cost was not including the concrete itself until the day of when payment was due and the concrete truck was onsite ready to pour. So, I hired him to pour an 8'x10' slab so I could have a shed built on top of it (polymer type). He requested half down. But this is after he raised his original price. So he charged me $800 down. The invoice from the down payment states it would include labor and materials and the total would be $1600. But then the day the work was done, he said the concrete crew would be paid separately. I was intimidated to refuse, as I feared they could become spiteful and pour concrete all over my front lawn and driveway. So I paid them separately. I can't remember how much now, since it was last year. I don't have the invoice for the final payment either. To make things worse they did terrible work. While transporting some of the concrete to the back yard via wheelbarrow, which was full to the brim, one of the crew spilled some in my grass. They tried washing it away with a hose and a rake. To this day, that spot is bald (which I just had some sod put in). The owner said the slab would be dry by Monday. It was poured on a Friday. I scheduled a person to come out and assemble a shed which we bought for that Monday. When he was done assembling it, he noticed the foundation was not level and sloping toward the back left corner. He was trying to shim it up with some pieces of palette it was shipped on, but also the cement had not cured completely by then either. As when he was starting to drill through the slap, the cement was moist on the drill bit. So we had him stop working. So my shed is sitting on the slab still, which is not level. You can see how it makes the doors not quite line up on the front. So now, I have to find a way and some help from some people to move the shed off, get the slab re-framed up and have more concrete poured on it to make it level. There was no reason to make it slop toward the back left corner like that and he tried to give an excuse for "drainage" but the shed has it's own floor and would be covering the slab up. Terrible. I tried and tried to get him to come out and fix the job. After numerous text messages back and forth and failed promises of setting an actual date. I finally gave up after he stopped responding to me. He boasted about how he had done work for what was then called the Gator Bowl, and how he has big contracts. But yet he does a stunt like this. Not only did he way over charge me, he wouldn't fix the problem. I would give him zero stars if I could.

Concrete Creations

If you want a memorable gift, or home decor piece for yourself, Concrete Creations is the place!…read moreThey sell all kinds of outdoor statuary, benches, memorials, planters, commemorative plaques, fountains, etc. Donna is the owner, and she is really customer oriented, hoping to put out a quality product, with her own folk art love. The bare concrete pieces sell from $10 on up, and Donna will hand paint any and all pieces for about $10-$15 fee. There is something for every price range, on up to the giant chicken standing in front of the store! Stop by and just take a look at everything. My toddler had so much fun identifying all the animals, and interacting with them (patting dogs, oinking at pigs, etc.). They also have religious figures, artistic objects, themed pavers, etc., so much more. Donna and her husband are very friendly and laid back. They're there to help as needed, but not pushy at all. You might get lucky and be able to watch her painting something. I have unconventional folk art everywhere in my house, and I like to mix it up with concrete art inside. I have dog statues by my front door, lions in the living room, and now a Donna original gator head in the dining room! I also got one of Donna's mini sea turtles (left unpainted), who lives outside by my stream. My son feeds him dandelions whenever he thinks of it. You can get moss to grow on garden statues by making a slurry of yogurt and water, and painting it onto the statue. That is my plan for our turtle. Donna uses acrylics to paint her works, with a hearty clear coat finish. She says they normally have an outdoor lifespan of about 5 years. She retains a lot of local customers, who go to her for re-paints when needed. I've seen her work in local cemeteries, many local yards, and I even bought one of her fireman pieces to give to the Jekyll Island Fire Department. Donna asked how I wanted my gator painted. She will customize exactly as you specify for styling and colors. But I wanted her to paint what she was moved to paint. I know with my art, my creativity comes through better when I make it all up, so I wanted Donna to do the same. I love what she came up with! The orange eyes are so cool, and her signature black undertone to give depth to all the textural details, is perfect! I'm so happy I found Concrete Creations because it made my trip to the Golden Isles more special. I got to take home critters that bring smiles to our faces every day, keeping the island spirit with us. Seeing my son touch the gator teeth and giggle "ouch," or pick dandelions for his turtle, is meaningful and fun. Thank you Donna for making your stuff with love, and creating beautiful folk art to remind me of Georgia!
