1 STAR -- After 20+ Years, No More Supercuts I've been going to Supercuts for more than 20 years. I've always liked the way they cut my hair and appreciated being able to simply walk in, wait a few minutes, and get a haircut. Unfortunately, they now seem to have become essentially "appointment only." I decided to give them another chance today. I walked in at about 3:15 PM. There was one customer getting a haircut and another stylist standing around talking to the cashier. I was told the next available appointment was at 4:00 PM. Seriously? The shop was practically empty. A men's haircut takes about 10 minutes. The available stylist could easily have accommodated me without seriously inconveniencing anyone--even if a later appointment had to wait five minutes. So I left and went around the corner to Sports Clips. Five stylists were all busy, yet somehow they managed to take me after only a five-minute wait. After more than 25 years as a customer, I'm done with Supercuts. Good haircuts, but customer service and flexibility matter too. Sports Clips has a new customer. Supercuts has lost a 25+year customer. read more

I just had quite possibly the worst haircut experience of my entire life just now. Not trying to assume anything about her or judge her physical appearance, but I don't know the lady's name so I have to describe her. She was a larger, seemingly Hispanic woman with green hair. She was short/rude with from the get go and I was very nice to her from the start. Couldn't do the simplest task of just half an inch shorter on all sides. Also, it was the shortest haircut ever, probably like 4 minutes total, It was very rushed. The end product was absolutely nothing similar to what i asked for, and then she blamed me for her terrible work by saying that I "should've come in with a picture of what I wanted." If thats the case, say that before you start cutting. Although, I've gotten the same haircut a million times and haven't had any issue until now. This lady seems to not care about her work at all. If she hates what she does so much she should look for another profession, because she sucks at cutting hair. If you go here, make sure you don't have her. read more

Still depends and especially with not asking me whether I want gel/wax/whatever it's called after. Well, I mean with both hair cut/treatment. At least would have nice. The stylist was actually also had gloves throughout the process as well. In which appears it's either newbie or temp covering for the additional coverage. Because it wasn't sure where everything is. Then thought they took visa/MasterCard/AMEX American Express), but not Discover, but was told it's Discover and not AMEX. At the same time they still haven't put their coat rack back/up. After reading other reviews I booked an appointment with Vicky and she definitely knows what she's doing! I have long, thick hair and regularly go to the Aveda salon but their prices are so high I decided to try Vicky. She is so kind, professional, and well trained. While cutting my hair she was also overseeing her employees and delegating tasks. You can tell she's the boss and she has many years experience. I showed Vicky a picture of my hair cut from my last visit to Aveda and she was able to replicate it! I'm so happy with my hair and what she did! She also checked with me several times to make sure I was happy with the layers, length and thickness. Great haircut for an awesome price! Salon quality! read more

I'm pretty bummed by my experience here- I'm normally a fan of Supercuts for a quick and cheap wash + trip + blowout (no cut styling), but today was just terrible. I used to come here regularly when I lived here, but have since moved away (and still go to Supercuts fwiw lol), and I wanted to get a blowout for a holiday party. I first showed them my hair (naturally has 2b curl and long) and asked them for a quote - normally around $35, which is what I was quoted. Cool, sounds good! The lady was nice enough and everything is going fine with the wash and trim (although she was doubting me when I told her exactly where I wanted my bang trimmed.. but ok) until the blowout part. I noticed when she did the first section she was pulling the hair straight and then brushing it though very hard, and I asked her if she could go for more curl. She swivelled me around so I couldn't see and finished doing the rest (and kept getting my hair stuck in her brush and pulling my hair out!), And then showed me - it was entirely FLAT!!!!! I asked her about it, since I requested more of a curl and volume and she said I'd had to pay extra for a curling iron for curls. Ok fine, it's $10, just as long as it's fixed. She then goes through and only curls the end of my hair (?!?!?) And I ask her if she's going to go back and do the top part and she says no..... And that it's my fault for having long hair that's too heavy for curls (?!?!? I have had blow outs before and curl my hair-- my hair holds curls really well) And then she told me I had to leave because I was taking her too long. I'm really bummed I thought I was being clear into what I expected and when I realized she was not on the right track I tried to tell her what I wanted and show a picture (attached, also from a supercuts). Instead, I got blamed for having too long of hair that "can't hold a curl" and that I was taking too long, not any suggestions on how to fix it. The reason it was flat was because of her technique- she only pulled the brush tight to the end, instead of using the round brush all the way through to make the curl, hence straightening it. I feel kinda robbed - in the end it ended up being well over the $35 quoted for something that I washed out and had to redo myself. I almost cried because my hair was so greasy and flat (see photo infront of Xmas tree). I know I know "it's a Supercuts - if you wanted a blowout go to Dry Bar etc etc" but I'm all about supporting local Supercuts and the awesome folks that work there normally do such a great job and really enjoy working with my hair! Also really disappointed in her team members- they also saw I wasn't happy and they didn't even try to step in and help, but then again she didn't ask me ask she went along if this is what I wanted (even after I tried to correct her)... Probably reconsider if you have long, curly hair and need anything more than a trim. not worth the pain, and for the price you can go to dry bar. read more

Not the best experience I've had at Supercuts... When the stylist says her inch may be different than your inch - it causes concern, am I right? My attempts at making small small talk and changing the atmosphere were rebuffed. The stylist then didn't speak to me during the whole cut, then perked up and chatted up the boss/owner. My poor daughter went in today with a picture of exactly what she wanted done to her hair and got an uneven ( 3 inches longer on one side after telling Ella it needed to be evened out due to hair loss ) Ella left it as is so it was totally unsymmetrical and I noticed it immediately when she walked over to me. She also cut her hair about 3 inches too short and gave her short layers that she did not want. We specifically said only an inch from the bottom layered. My daughter specifically said that she wanted to be able to put it back in a ponytail but now that's not possible. We had to go back to her and ask her to fix the front pieces so they matched and she reluctantly attempted to fix it. She was so impersonal and honestly rude. When she was done I asked her kindly to check the measurements by pulling up her hair on both sides to see if they were even, like most stylists do and she answered me rudely... " that's not how it works" she was angry. I called after we left because it didn't sit right with me and my daughter was very upset. I spoke to the manager Vicki and appreciated her inviting us back for her to fix it while Ella stood there with a total attitude watching. She even walked away muttering at us under her breath. Never an apology or kind approach to her mistakes. Vicki spent more time fixing it than Ella did cutting her entire head. Ella obviously has little experience in hair cutting or customer service. I feel for my daughter because she took time to bring a picture and got nothing like what she expected and was very upset with the short layered hair cut . I do appreciate Vicki doing her best to even it all out for her while Ella watched. It was obvious she never checked her hair at all after cutting it. Luckily it will grow back in time but honestly Ella's lack of respect and condescending attitude is what really made it the worst experience. She was not welcoming from the start and that's not what getting your hair cut should be about. I watched how friendly the other stylists were to their clients. read more

I wasn't too worried about getting a "bad" haircut, since my hair (which hasn't really been cut in years) is a giant mess of blond curls/frizz. But I really needed it to look neater and be more manageable for the summer. I have, over the years overpaid in salons to get a cut that was nothing near what I wanted- often uneven, too short, etc. My hair is very thin, long and had gotten stringy- kind of messy looking. I walked in and they told me the wait would be a half hour. Wandered around the shopping center and came back. They took me in almost exactly when they said they would. Chuck did an amazing job. He listened to me and the cut turned out much better than expected. He trimmed a couple inches and added some nice layers. He double checked to make sure everything was even. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous about having a man cut my hair. But I am more than happy with the results. Seriously, one of the best haircuts I have ever had. The staff was very nice and efficient. Small place (so I am sure it gets busy) but I guess I got in at a good time. **edit: After reading the review before mine, I want to make another point. Chuck has a very unique, unconventional way of cutting hair. His own method that works well, and he is incredibly calm and confident. At least that was my experience. This place was a fucking disaster! I took the girl I take care of to get her tips cut and they cut her hair super short. Not only was it short, it was uneven. When I complained, they had another stylist even it out but the damage was done. The girl was emotional because her hair was too short and to top it off, they didn't do a full refund because they charged for the hair wash... WHAT THE F*£k?!? Came in here after already been turned away from GreatClips Agoura and was seated in a chair within 5 minutes. They were friendly and accommodating. The stylist gave me the haircut I asked for and took her time to comb out some of the really knotted hair I had. I did think the price for a basic haircut is a little high for this type of place but it's still cheaper than salon prices so I'll take it. I cut my hair pretty short so not sure if I'll need another cut anytime soon but I'll definitely recommend this place. read more

A good haircut comes down to simple geometry and the understanding of how different shapes, lines and angles work together... she know her work, give her a try you won't be disappointed. This store is great and has very good customer service with great Haircuts! Taylor has artistry with her cuts, and she makes my hair look awesome! I am always blown away by how good my hair actually looks when she is finished with my style and cut! I felt like a brand new me when I walk out of the shop! I am so happy I went to see Taylor!
