I don't usually do reviews, but needed to do one today: Great place to get your hair cut. All the hairdressers here are super nice and accommodating. I make sure to schedule ahead of time on the app since it can get busy. Please be patient with the hairdressers as they work hard to not only just cut hair, but make each individuals experience a good one (so make your reservation). I get my hair cut by Ping every time. We've gone from buzz cut to a longer cut on top into a combover, and now probably the best cut I've gotten on 20Jul2024. I've been coming here for years and Ping always cuts my hair and does a great job she is very gentle and kind. Today I came in on short notice and I let a young lady with short hair glasses and tattoos cut my hair, I believe her name was Madilyn. At first she didn't acknowledge me when I walked in, took her 5 minutes to finally greet me and check me in. When she sat me down she was very straight to the point and aggressive. She didn't make small talk at all and that is fine if you're a shy person but she made me feel like I wasn't welcomed She was putting my hair up in clips very aggressively and kept spraying water in my face and my hair was soaking wet. Her vibe was very off after she got done cutting my hair she didn't even move my hair back after it being in my face from cutting my face frame. She rushed to check me out as well. I came in to get a nice haircut. She took almost 4 inches of length off. She turned my beautiful blonde hair into a bowl haircut on my fucking head. Do not use this place that idiot Erica who cut my hair does not deserve to be allowed to use scissors, the links or miss matched she took almost 4 inches off and then she told me she couldn't get the cuts right because my hair is curly. Unpleasant first time and LAST time experience. Weird feeling and aftertaste. Not very friendly or sincere. The lady charged me $29 for 2 mins of work. When asked to do a bit texturizing she was not willing and said keep it this way.. insincere and very practical. Didn't like it. Went home and trimmed myself my hair better than in salon. I have been coming to this spot for a few years. Their prices have really gone up for just a simple mens haircut. Went in on a Thursday early and made an appointment with a stylist that I like for 1:45 PM, show up at 1:45 PM and the stylist I have booked for 1:45 is just sitting an elderly woman. I asked the receptionist, I thought I had an appt at 1:45 PM with that specific stylist. She tells me an appointment gets me a spot, but does not guarantee the time. I can see if she was just finishing up with someone but she was just sitting an elderly woman who I would assume would be at a minimum 40 minutes depending on what she was after. So I diligently show up at 1:45 PM and then just expected to wait until she is available. Maybe I would have had better luck just walking in. This place is a JOKE. Will never come back to this location with their appointment scheduling standards in addition to their inflated prices for a mens simple haircut. read more

Well....I got a haircut and that was the best part of the experience. I made the appointment online which seems to be the way to go on the weekend so you don't have to wait. The girl that checked me in was super nice, didn't catch her name. Jody did my haircut. I have a grown out pixie, originally had an undercut kinda thing. She was honestly really judgemental and didn't like the photo of what I was going for. She didn't really offer any alternatives or suggestions. I'm a people pleaser and anxious so I was nervous trying to express that honestly yes that picture was what I wanted. We did the haircut in complete silence while I sat there feeling stupid for liking what I liked. I've been in deep need of a cut...not a trim but an actual cut. I have been to Supercuts (not this specific location) multiple times and i hadn't had any issues. But I have to admit the last time I went to a Supercuts I did not have a good experience. I stuck it out and let it be because it was one time. I decided to come to this location for the first time and I am happy to say I had such an amazing experience. I had a check in for 6 PM with the next available stylist. Marina took me in and she was super sweet. I explained what I was looking for and let me just say she definitely understood the assignment. At the end of my cut the other stylist that was there was so sweet to compliment my hair and the stylists work. I styled my hair this morning and it is 100% exactly what I wanted. read more

The Gail who cut my hair did a Fantastic job.I didn't get her name,but if she reads this she'll remember who I was. This is the first time I have ever felt passionately about giving a review. I took my wife here and she was in shambles after the "stylist", Jodie, attempted to cut her hair. It is ridiculously choppy, and the layers are done terribly. The top layer is almost 4 inches shorter than the bottom layer with no blending in between layers. It looks like a child cut her hair. The hair is different lengths on each side and my wife is going to have to cut it all really short to fix how terrible the layers look. This is the worst hair cut experience my wife has ever had. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS SUPERCUTS!!!! They are HOMOPHOBIC and RACIST. I called in and made a reservation to come in at 9:30. I walked in around 9:28. There was an Asian lady cutting a guys hair and another lady with a tan at the desk in the phone. I waited until she got off the phone and told her I had an appointment to get my hair trimmed at 9:30 and told her my name. She told me I will be called shortly and I said okay and sat down. Shortly after I sat down, a lady and her daughter walked up to the desk and she asked if they could squeeze her in because she wanted her hair trimmed as well. The worker said "yea we should be able to squeeze you in". Sure enough after the Asian lady finished with cutting the guys' hair she called the mom back. I initially was annoyed because I heard the entire conversation and they literally just allowed a walk in to get their hair done before my SCHEDULED appointment. The mom had an appointment for her DAUGHTER not herself. But I let it slide and chose to be patient (something I'm working on)...then another man walked in who knew the Asian lady he asked her if she had time and she was like "could you come back tomorrow around 8?" He said "no it needs to be today" and she said "okay just wait a little bit". The mom's hair cut was quick but after she charged the mother for her and daughter's haircut...she called the guy back. At that point, I had to speak up because now I was feeling discriminated against. I simply asked both of them in a calm tone "what is the point of making an appointment if you're going to let walk ins get their hair done before mine?" Ms. Tan tried to lie and said they both had an appointment but I know that was BS because I have ears and I heard everything that was being said. I said " No, the mom had an appointment for her daughter and the guy just came in with no appointment" and the Asian lady scuffed as if I offended her?! They really tried to argue with me like I didn't have a right to getting service or speaking up against CLEAR discrimination. So yea, avoid this place at all cost. I found out that you turned away one of my friends that has psoriasis I also have psoriasis not on my scalp but it's the same thing you can't catch it and you guys should be educated to know that. I am out raged. I don't know where you went to school but I worked at a Cosmetology school and I know you were supposed to learn all about it you must've cut class those days. I've gotten two different services from Ping. Both times I ended up being incredibly upset with the service once home and able to really look at it. First was my eyebrows, where I wanted thinner and a more defined arch. She did neither and did what she liked. Second was my hair. She took it down too short, way more than an inch, when all I wanted was a light trim. She doesn't listen to instructions and does what she wants. I cannot recommend her because of this and am likely to not return to this location because of it. "Fast and quick" isn't a positive thing for me. I have too much hair and wish I'd waited for someone else. I should have known when she didn't even ask how I parted my hair and just went at it with a part I don't do. I unluckily got the one stylist with a bad attitude and the inability to smile. The actual cut I received was fine - you get what you pay for - nothin special, nothin wrong with it, either. But basic human interaction seemed to surpass this dude's social capacity - I received no greeting from him, not a single smile, and he maybe said a total of 2 or 3 sentences to me the whole time I was there. Don't get me wrong - I came here to get my hair cut, not to be chatted up by a stylist, but I would have much preferred one of the pleasant conversations that I heard going on around me to my experience. He didn't even ask me what I wanted when I sat down, so I started explaining on my own. After my 4-minute hair cut ended with me being handed the mirror and spun around to see the back of my hair, I saw very little change and decided I wanted it a bit shorter, and kindly asked that he take another inch off the length. His response began with "I thought you said..." and he seemed irritated that I had changed my mind. GOD FORBID he had to spend another TWO MINUTES on trimming an extra inch off. I got the impression that this dude hates his job. If I was a stylist I would want to make sure all my customers were satisfied! Aside from my own experience, the place seemed alright (which is why I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1). It was clean, efficiently run, and the receptionist and all the other stylists seemed warm and welcoming. The back was so bad, I think the army would have given me a better haircut. What really upset me is that they had the audacity to tell me they were very experience. I like keeping my hair long but when I gave birth and my baby loves to pull my hair I knew it was time for a hair cut. I just moved to Simi Valley and this is the closest hair salon from my home so I went here. My hair was long it was just above the waist and I had it cut to above the shoulder. When I informed the hairdresser what I wanted she said "ooohhh you're cutting your hair short" and my reply was "Yup! I hope I don't regret it". I sure did regret going to this salon. While she was cutting my hair, the cashier came over to sweep my hair from the floor and she informed me that I should have donated my hair to make wigs for children with leukemia sine it was longer than 10 inches. While the cashier was telling me this the hairdresser just stood there saying "yeah you should have". I was not aware of it and the hairdresser should have told me before chopping my hair off. Even though the first cut of my hair was already more than 10 inches, my hair went to the trash when it could have helped people. After the haircut, I informed her that I was not happy the way it looked since there's a lot of hair flipping out. It was so bad I looked like I just got up after rolling around the bed a gazillion times. She told me there's nothing she could do as that's the way my hair grows. I know this, the difference between a good hairdresser and her is when I went to my regular hairdresser to cut my hair short (about 6 years ago), she informed me that I should have it cut shorter or longer than what I want to avoid the flip out. I told her that I'm willing for my hair to be shorter if she could fix the flip out. And her response was that it's not her fault my hair grows like that. I was gonna cry while walking towards the cashier. The cashier noticed and asked how I liked my new hair. When I told her that it didn't turn out as I thought it would be, she called another hairdresser. The other hairdresser cut it shorter and did a better job but I still paid for 2 haircuts. Yes they charged me for 2 haircuts! That's $30 when I could have drove to my regular hairdresser and pay less than that including gas. The trouble I go through very morning to flat iron my hair to avoid the flip out is ridiculous. read more

If you're looking for a hack job, this is the place to go. My fiancé and I went here to get haircuts. I went first and got the rudest girl ever. She didn't greet me, didn't smile, didn't talk. I asked to have my hair thinned because it's getting so hot out, and she cut weird layers into my hair. The front part of my hair is not even. She rushed through everything and I could tell she didn't want to be there. Needless to say, I am very unhappy. My fiancé's haircut was just as bad. He got a girl who wasn't paying any attention to his hair and was chatting with her coworker. She didn't trim up his sideburns, there were hairs sticking down his forehead that she didn't bother to cut, and she didn't clean up the back of his neck!!! He was in the chair for maybe 5 minutes. He was also rushed through. Who do these people think they are?! I would absolutely give zero stars if I could. read more

Don't know if it's just this location or all Supercuts but I just took my minor child there and after sitting in the totally empty waiting area for 5 min while my child was getting his hair cut, I was told I had to wait outside. Even though I was 20 ft from the nearest person. All the signs on the chairs in the waiting area say please social distance with arrows pointing where to sit. There is no signage anywhere saying if you are not getting a cut please wait outside. The shift manager said it's the owner's policy. I asked the manger what if someone brings a small child. I was told that "the mother will have to wait outside and look through the window" Just wow. But when it's time to pay you can go in of course! Great Clips is much cheaper and you can sit in the waiting area. read more

I went for a shampoo, cut and conditioner and came out wanting to cry. The shampoo was ok & the cut wasn't what I asked for. I was told that the deep conditioning treatment required heat, but the girl who did the shampoo, put on some kind of conditioner and said "We'll let that sit for a few minutes and then rinse it out. Another stylist overheard me respond that I was told it required heat and realized the girl didn't know what she was doing, but covered it up and said to just stick me under a dryer for 15 minutes. I was pretty sure she didn't use the deep conditioner, but didn't think it would make too much difference. When I started feeling over heated, I checked my watch and realized it had been 30 minutes. I pushed the dryer up to stop cooking my head (my face was beet red by then). She noticed I'd stopped the hair dryer and said I still had just a few more minutes, so I reminded her that it was only supposed to heat for 15 minutes. My hair was still wet, so I couldn't tell how the cut was going, but she finished in about 5 minutes and said I was done. I couldn't believe she was going to have me walk out with wet hair, and was informed that it would be another $25 just to blow dry my short hair. (I've never been charged to dry my hair) when I said that, she countered with, "Well, we can charge less if I don't use the big brush"..... I had no intention of giving her any more money and just decided not to ever go back. I dried my hair when I got home and it didn't look any different than when I went in. The last time I went there I was quoted $45 for a few highlights. When the girl got done she said it was going to be $65, because she misunderstood and thought I asked for all-over highlights. I've gone here many times over the years and never had any of these problems before, but since my last trip, I've talked to several friends who have had similar experiences here. I go here for all of my trims, but when I went this weekend to get my layers trimmed (like normal) she gave me BANGS and didn't even cut my layers. The bangs are even and she cut off the middle of my hair!!! I am being made fun of and I'm so embarrassed. I'm never going here again... I'm actually traumatized. read more
