I wasn't familiar with the area and ended up about 15 minutes late. After apologizing, I mentioned I wanted to get my hair done for my birthday the following day. Angie was gracious enough to still accommodate me. Even though she was literally on her way home! Angie was friendly as was everyone else there. She started me immediately, answered all my questions and explained everything she needed to. My hair is all natural and tends to be on the dry side. My ends were pretty fried since I hadn't had them trimmed in ages! Angie did a great job getting all the dead ends and gave me some nice soft curled as a finisher. I would totally recommend Elegant Styles to anyone in the area in need of a good stylist.

I got box braids this time and they looked Fantastic the first week. Lovvvved them. The owner started the braids and then had two other women finishing them so they were done in under two hours! This is how to not be in the chair all day people! Fast forward 7th day and we have major slippage. Most of the braids are a full inch from the scalp now. I'm pretty sure because she wrapped around hair. You can see in pic. I was sure these would last a month or more but 2 weeks in and I don't think I feel confident that some just won't fall out. I've been doing a braid over the top and big buns so you can't see the slipping, although I would prefer her to be able to wear down. If we do go back we'll probably do cornrows again or crochet. I like that her shop is large and kept clean and she's friendly.

Loretta listens to what you want and makes great suggestions to make sure you are truly happy with your hair at the end of the session. Last time she fed me tons of delicious cookies and we talked like we were old friends gabbing away while she was doing my hair :) My husband's aunt is a hair stylist herself and is always so critical of other people's work but when I sent her pictures of my hair she says "You gotta keep her! She's fantastic!" I've only seen her twice but both times were a great experiences. Her talent and great customer service is what will keep me returning when I want to change up my hair :)
