I was always skeptical of all non "beauty salon" hair places... But this place is different. I was in need of a trim, color and in search of products that won't make my hair dry and brittle. Jen was my stylist and not only was she so friendly and personable, she was professional, her staff was professional and she listened to exactly what I was looking for. The hair color mix was spot on and my hair stays shiny and soft the entire time until I need a touch up again. I was so happy I went back a second time and loved the shampoo and conditioner she used on me so much I bought it for home and couldn't be happier. I've been going to Supercuts for a year now! Yes a year and have never been disappointed. My daughter is a stylist(not there) and has no time for me so I sought out a new place . Needless to say I was quite nervous , that was until my first haircut with the fabulous Jen. She listened to what I wanted done with my hair and wa la, it was done. Wish I could give negative stars for this location: I made an appointment online with Raquel for 3:20 PM on 1/24/2025, at the East Brunswick, NJ, location. No one greeted me or even acknowledged my arrival at 3:17. The two hair cutters were busy with customers and two customers were waiting. When Raquel was finally finished with her current customer at 3:35 PM, she was staring at the register screen for about two minutes and I expected her to call me for my appointment. When she did not, I approached her and asked her if she had me down for a haircut at 3:20. She said yes, she had an appointment for me at 3:20, but that she had one haircut ahead of me. Understand that this was already 15 minutes past my scheduled appointment! No apology. No explanation. When I told her that I didn't have time to wait for her to take another customer before me, she merely dismissed me with a deadpan "Okay", so I left without getting my hair cut. I chalked my wasted 20 minutes up to unprofessional behavior and poor business practices. I make it a point to be on time for appointments, but Raquel apparently was not concerned that I had scheduled my visit online or that she was taking walk-ins ahead of scheduled appointments which shows a disregard for other peoples' time. Why offer online appointments at all when the staff does not observe the schedule? I have previously had positive experiences at the Monmouth Junction, NJ, location where they observe and value online appointments. The unprofessional behavior at the East Brunswick Super Cuts location was certainly an education and left me wondering how staff like Raquel is allowed to mistreat customers with such rudeness. I am also puzzled why this Super Cuts location offers online appointments when the staff disregards appointments made in advance. I will no longer visit this Super Cuts location and this bad experience makes me wonder how this store makes money when staff like Raquel mistreats customers. Got my hair cut here for the first time today. I called before getting there and they put me on a waitlist. It wasn't busy when I got there. They checked me in and took me within 5 minutes of getting there. The soaps they use smell amazing and made my hair feel super soft. My cut came out amazing and same with my blow up! Angelica is more than 5 stars! My usual stylist was unavailable and I was going on a vacation. I really needed a cut. I was so nervous. After searching Yelp I decided to give Supercuts a chance. The first stylist said she was not comfortable to give me such a complicated cut when I showed her the pic. She recommended Angelica and I was so appreciative for her honesty. Got a haircut today. Walked in at and asked for a trim. Apparently that means a shaved head in the language of the young lady who gave me my haircut. Perhaps the worst haircut I have ever received ever and I mean ever did I say ever? Several people have taken a look at my head and said "what happened?" That is my review. I have no idea what happened. When I asked the young woman for a trim she put a razor trim head on a trimmer and began shaving my head. Whether I liked it or not there you have it. I was nervous to see how this place would turn out, since this chain is doing terribly in other locations. However, this is actually a great barbershop. The staff is super friendly, and gave me a great haircut. She even did it how I liked my hair. Not too short, and to go around the ears. The wait was a bit long, but it was definitely worth it. The place feels a bit claustrophobic for its location. Seats were way too close together, with not a lot of space in the waiting room. The barber made a slight mistake, when using the blow dryer, when I told her not to. But, she was very nice and apologized. This is a great barber. read more

FYI--If you are using the Supercuts app for this location (in East Brunswick) be aware that it doesn't always list the names of their more experienced stylists. So, needing a haircut, I called ahead of time to ask if my stylist would be in and to confirm what hours she would be there working. I'm not local. Upon arrival, I was then informed that the stylist I wanted "just left" and I would have to stick around for an hour or more to wait for my haircut with my stylist of choice. In my opinion there seems to be a deliberate effort to pair customers with less experienced stylists at this location. read more

Visited this location based on the yelp reviews. Turned out to be completely opposite to what the reviews say. My stylist completely botched my haircut. Grossly uneven haircuts on the side visible to the naked eye. Uneven lengths at the top. Very unhappy. On my way to a real barbershop to fix the bad job they did. Pleasant staff but the cut not worth the 20$. Save your money and go to a real barber if you're looking for a legit cut. Definitely won't be returning. read more

I asked for ash blonde highlights touch-up which was about 2 inches on the top of my head and they gave me an entire new color on my hair which was a yellow honey color, which I didn't ask for. Very disappointed. When I told her that was not what I asked for she said it's the same color you had last time. I have a photo it's not the same color. It was not even the same color I walked in there with. Then she tried to prove to me they didn't have the color I asked for because it was missing from the book. Why the lies? Say sorry and fix it. It's their job. It took about 5 hours sitting with a mask on and while I was sitting there, I overheard other young male clients not satisfied with their cuts and they were told 'I can't do that because it won't look right', The same stylist when answering the phone was very rude to whomever was calling saying we can't take you, call back. I believe if a client is asking for a special cut or color and is paying for it, they should get what they are asking for. Another time (Friday) when I went there I was told to make an appointment, but the store was empty. I read reviews about this place and thought they were better than this. I was very patient and very disappointed with the people who were working there. I ended up not getting the highlights I wanted, but had to pay close to $300.00. I will never go there again. I brought my daughter for a trim. As there was no wait time I decided to get my hair cut as well. My daughter needed her ends cut..about an inch or two. The operator squirted her hair to dampen it. She snipped it put the blow dryer on it for about 1 minute and was done. The girl who did my hair was worse. She did not ask if I wanted my hair washed, just spritzed it..it was not even wet and snipped the ends. She never combed it through or anything...and I have thick layered hair. Less then 1 minute with the blow dryer and done. No combing or styling. Charged $40 for the k...i2 cuts for myself and 11 yo daughter. We were in and out in probably 20 minutes. Ridiculous. I can honestly say this was the absolute worst hair experience I have had...this is the first haircut I have ever gotten that my hair wasnt washed. Their biggest concern was that they could not connect to the wifi in the shop. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this shop. Only gave 1 star because you cant give less. read more
