I have gone to Supercuts for years, but not this one. The lights were half out due to electrical issues and gave the place quite a relaxing vibe. I showed the girl a picture of what I wanted, and she made it happen. Very little chatter, which was fine. Just a really good cut, took very little time and she even offered a hot towel, which my usual Supercuts never offered. Quite the nice experience, and they just gained a new customer. read more

I have gone here many times and gotten decent cuts for the price point, only 1 truly awful cut. Today I went and was told that it would be a 50 minute wait. I left my name and went grocery shopping. I was back 50 minutes later. Checked in, they said "You're all set ", sat down and proceeded to watch everyone in the waiting area get serviced. What was the point of taking my name if not to put me in the queue for 50 minutes later? Feeling frustrated, I asked the person at the register when my turn was, she answered "You're next" so I sat back down. Imagine my surprise when a woman walked in and that same service person whisked her right into a chair. At this point I'd had enough frustration for one day so I left. Unbelievable. read more

I've always had an easy time scheduling a same-day haircut appointment via the website. I don't have much of a preference and always choose whoever is available. Both times, the hairdressers were incredible. Not only did they understand what I was going for, but they were also great conversationalists and they provided high quality service. read more

I don't know what is going on with this place. A family member had a haircut today at Supercuts in Brewer, Me. and there is a almost 2" x 2" bald spot on the back of this person's head from where the hair cutter shaved it. I assume she wasn't paying attention. This is so lacking in attention and there was no apology. The bald spot is so obvious she knows what she did. I'm afraid my family member will never go out to get another haircut again. My family member is so embarrassed. I'd post a picture but it is too embarrassing. I would suggest not letting anyone at supercuts anywhere near your head if they have an electric razor in their hand. I haven't seen any thing like this in my life! DON'T GO THERE! read more

During COVID, on 06-19-20, at around 2:30pm, I stopped in because I was working nearby and needed a haircut. I had a mask on (required), and I was greeted immediately by whomever was at the desk. However small, the place was immaculate from the waiting area to the stations. Right after checking in, my stylist, Becca, sat me down and I WAS OUT THE DOOR IN 8 MINUTES WITH A PERFECT HAIRCUT! Few spots get my style, but Becca got it and she didn't even rush. Thanks Supercuts on State St. staff! read more

I'm been here before to get my eyebrows done and they did a good job. However today I went to get a haircut and it's honestly one of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. The layers are choppy and uneven. I'm honestly confused as to how anyone thinks this looks good. read more

Check in Online Service was very glitchy. However, the haircut was great. As someone who is usually hesitant to go to a new hairstylist I didn't expect this good of a haircut. What I got was a welcome surprise. McKenzie was amazing and very nice and professional. Would recommend. read more

I went to a number of Super Cuts shops in Ohio and Maine for a number of years - but only because their shops were everywhere and local options were limited. This shop in Brewer provided annoying experiences in 2 ways: 1) the haircuts were never the same and not particularly good either - despite advertised claims that its stylists are all trained the same way; and 2) the radio volume was REALLY loud every time, tuned to some odd mixture of rap-crap, grunge, and apparently the latest version of 'popular' music, and when I asked the stylist to please turn down the volume she exhibited surprise and irritation with me. So Super Cuts everywhere can keep their LOUD music and utterly inconsistent haircuts, as I will never go to one of these shops again... read more

When you go in for a haircut it is hit or miss what you will get. My daughter has natural curly hair. If the hairdresser doesn't know how to cut curly hair it can be dreadful. Well the girl my daughter had messed up her hair so bad. She ended up with a long hair mullet. If I had known my daughter was going there I would have warned her. The same girl had shaved my head and told me that was the Katy Perry hair cut. I asked for the Katy Perry haircut and had shown her a pic. The other girls have been fair. read more

I went into Supercuts asking for a bob haircut with a perm. They don't do perms. I told them I did not want a blow dry, as it tends to dry my hair. I was told I would get a "fluff dry" because it is Maine in the winter. She states she was not allowed to cut my hair in the style I wanted, as they were taught to do hair a certain way, and she cannot cut it that way. (I wanted it cut with layers longer on outside so ends curl under) When she held the ends, she curled them OUT instead of straight as she said she would do. THEN my "fluff dry" became a charged for Blow Dry with STRAIGHT HAIR. She attempted to curl the ends under, but due to the way she cut them, my ends were flipping up and out by the time I arrived home. I took a picture as soon as I got home. I am 48. This hairdo makes me look 10 years older. I HATE IT!!! It is pretty bad, that the first thing I have to do when I get home is wet my hair to try to get some of the curl back in. read more
