This is a great store I have come here a couple of times but this experience wasn't a great one. I think the lady didn't get enough information before starting and didn't accommodate my request. I sincerely felt like she was judging me when I requested for some shorter bangs in the front. I understand it may not have been a conservative approach to request for that, but I have gotten the same style done before and everyone has been nothing but excited about it and tried to make it work. I only had a small request about some drama in the front to go along with some layers all over. I also wish she hadn't cut off so much of my hair length. I want to emphasise that the haircut wasn't bad but it wasn't exactly how I wanted. I wish more of my wishes were asked before starting the haircut and it doesn't hurt to be accepting and pleasant to the customer's choices rather than having an attitude.i also requested for a before and after pictures but that also wasn't taken very nice. read more

Sway just cut me and my little one's hair and he did an AMAZING job! I was beginning to think my hair was hopeless, But he brought it back to life and I couldn't be happier! It hasn't looked this good in years. He completely transformed my fine, thin overprocessed hair. It looks and feels amazing. Sway cut off my little one's ponytail so she could donate it, and left her with the cutest most gorgeous bob! I was worried what would be left after the 10" were gone but he took what was left and left her stylin'!! She hasn't stopped looking in the mirror and is already asking me to make sure he cuts her hair from now on (I agree!!) We checked in online and so there was barely a wait, and the customer service, and conversation were great! Everyone was super nice, and the atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. I made an appointment online this evening for this location. For just a cut. it gave me multiple time options and I selected 7:05. I showed up at 7:05 to the door being locked and the woman inside yelling to me that they're closed. I said I made an appointment and she just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. why have a way to make an appointment online, with times to pick from just to close before the last appointment?? I've always feared Supercuts for one reason. It's cheap. It's too cheap. With $10-$15 haircuts, how can you trust them? Leaving your hair to the "trainees" was not an option for me. That is... until today. After trying to save a few bucks on my son's haircut, I was pleasantly surprised by the hair dresser's professionalism. And since my hair was frizzing out all over the place, I made a spontaneous decision to get my hair trimmed while waiting for my son. Here are the pros of this place: 1.) It's cheap. It doesn't get any cheaper. 2.) There are some real professional hair dressers here. There are many stylists with varying ages who seem to know what they are doing. 3.) You don't need an appointment to come, but you could call one hour in advance (if you don't like waiting). 4) Again, it's cheap. Cons: 1.) They don't wash your hair. Actually they do wash it if you're willing to pay extras. But if you want to pay more, why come to Supercuts? So when I come here, I won't get the hair massaging treatment with the herbal minty smell. 2.) Their styles are pretty basic and standard. I saw many people getting their hair cut (while waiting), and their styles all seemed nice but typical- with layers, trims, and buzz. Nothing spectacular or fancy where you say - Wow, is that the Jennifer Aniston look?(wait... is she still considered trendy?) I think you usually get what you pay for in life, but in this case, you get somewhat more than what you pay for. For men's and children's cuts, I'd definitely give this place a thumbs up. And, oh, for a simple hair trim, their cut is not too bad for women either. read more

I have been going to Supercuts in Branford for many years. I had a bad experience a few weeks ago and didn't get my cut. I had called ahead and was given a time. When I got there the woman who addressed me rude and dismissive of what I was saying. She didn't listen to me and just told me to sit down and wait. Certainly the opposite of welcoming and caring so I left. I decided to try again and thankfully Linda was there who has been with the salon for a long time. She then gave me an awesome haircut!!! I appreciate that she took the time to listen to me about what happened with another employee and be understanding and kind about it. The two employees were on completely different spectrums of customer care and service. I hope the owner sees this and commends Linda and offers some serious customer care training to the other employee. People have a choice and won't keep coming when an employee is rude. They should all be held to the level of customer care that Linda an Paula provide. If they do that, my next review should be 5 star read more

Went in for a haircut because the salon I usually use was closed and I have an important event tomorrow. I told the hairdresser exactly what I wanted, even showed her a photo. I clearly said, "Please don't cut my bangs, I like them where they are." She proceeded to cut an inch off my bangs while talking to a co-worker. Been going here since I first got my haircut 20 years ago.. The thing I like most about SuperCuts is the price and quickness that they do haircuts in. With that said, there is still much left to be desired. The hairdressers there have quota to meet, so therefore they are trying to get you out as fast as possible. Second, more than likely you're getting someone with limited haircutting experience. The conversation with most of the hairdressers is dry and bland. With that said, I am looking for a new barber. SuperCuts is a fine place to get your haircut if your in high school or under, on a very tight budget, or simply don't necessarily care about your looks. read more

My usual hair stylist is recovering from surgery and will be in therapy for a while, so I needed to get my haircut somewhere else. I admit, I was extremely nervous about it because I've only had two main stylists my whole life. I told the hair stylist this on the phone and when I got there. I expected some support and reassurance. Instead her reaction was, It's not like it's brain surgery, I'm just cutting your hair." This did not give me any confidence I would get a good cut. Nothing she said prior to that made me think she would give me a good cut either. So, I left. I usually call ahead for an appointment and the last couple times, they seemed to have an issue. Last time, the girl on the phone sounded unsure if she could take my appointment. My boyfriend has been going here for years and hasn't been thrilled with his haircuts but doesn't really care. The staff here is very nice, but they do not listen to the costumers . Last haircut my boyfriend got the girl used scissors instead of a razor, which my boyfriend strongly said wasn't the best for his hair but she did it anyways. Most recently, he asked for a certain number on the top and a different on the sides, the girl clearly did not listen and made his whole head a 3.
