Hot water came in quickly to the sinks and the shower and it had everything you needed and more. You could park right in front of your room. She monitored guests on the security cameras and treated Black guests, especially families with children, with disrespect. Some staff members were polite, but the owner's behavior ruined the entire experience. I would never stay here again and would strongly recommend others avoid this hotel.

Our site had great trees and lots of bird watching available. Wood, snacks, and breakfast, daily water and coffee were supposed to be provided per the website destination fee. We did not receive our oatmeal or popcorn. We were told the order didn't arrive. Seemed like this could be an easy run to the store for the guests with a $40 fee being charged each day. Coffee, firewood, water, and a s'mores kit was not enough for $40. Wood delivery could be improved. We are early risers and wanted to make breakfast since none was provided. We called for more wood and were told that delivery would be between 1-4pm. That is too late. We explained we couldn't cook breakfast and they reluctantly agreed to come earlier. Camp cooking is great, but a few things are needed if you are a serious cook. A few things you may want to consider. If you are planning to make use of the grill get some high quality foil. The foil burnt within minutes. Pans inside the cabin had teflon coating that was flaking off making it unsafe to use. Cutting board was pretty beat up. All the pans have plastic on the handles and a sign that says you can't use on grill. If you have BBQ dreams plan ahead. All and all we had a great time and will return, but we will come better prepared. However, if you have a description of what's included it should be accurate to what is being presented. We should have had one day of destination fee refunded for the amenities not being available.

It's a great place for relaxing and there were a lot of hawks and a beautiful sunset. We had stayed at one of the cabins before in another city when it was still getaway and they had charged for all the little things like the s'mores kit and any of the other provisions. Now that Marriott is in charge, everything was complementary, which was nice to have snacks and drinks without having to pack more extra things than we already had. We were able to make full meals there and enjoy the outdoor outdoors plus, it's really nice because you can bring your dog.

It was pouring so hard one morning when I had to leave to go to an event and I was all dressed up with hair and makeup done, and I really didn't want to get soaked, so the staff gave me a really heavy duty trash bag and a cardboard box that I could use as a poncho and an umbrella. So grateful for their care. Second, I felt very safe here. The parking lot was very well lit at night and your key card is required to enter the property after hours. Even though there were some trucks and people hanging out at the nearby gas station, I never felt unsafe at this hotel property. I chose not to eat the complementary breakfast because it really didn't look that appetizing or healthy to me, though I do appreciate the amenity. There was a water refill station in the gym, which was also incredibly convenient and handy. The entire property, including the common areas and my room were very clean minus the caulking around the bathtub - this could be pulled out, cleaned, and replaced - but other than that, exceptionally clean. I didn't love the window unit because my room remained very humid and my papers became soggy/floppy and my towels weren't always dry despite being set pretty low. But that is the nature of Houston, though a more robust central air system could help with that. Just an interesting observation - there were giant water bugs, snakes, and other critters in the parking lot after a heavy rain. No fault of the hotel and no complaints, just an observation of some interesting creatures that I've never seen before. I'm glad that they were not inside!
