It isn't very often you find arcade staff that genuinely want you to have fun and help you win, working in gambling you'd imagine they would hope you don't win what you want so that you stay longer and spend more money- but they were just as happy as we were when we got our 1000 tickets to claim our prize. They were the kind of people you want to go for a pint with, and made the experience so much better for us. We didn't go on any of the rides because I'm a wimp, but they had plenty, bumper cars, rollercoasters, the biggest slide I've ever seen. It's really quiet in the day time, but come 4pm there are plenty of families enjoying the park. All in all, 37 keyrings, and a cuddly slice of pizza named Paoulo later, it was our favourite day out of our entire holiday.

Possibly would have awarded this four stars if with younger children as it was aimed more at them. It was a little tame for the tastes of both hubby and my six year old son. I thought it was kind of charming - but perhaps not worth paying £12.00 a head for. The actual building is stunning from the outside and you cannot fault the views over the cove below. Inside the castle its been kitted out like a museum and is mostly home to toys, puppets, dolls and pier type animatronics and slot machines from yesteryear. Very interesting - but only enough to keep you occupied for an hour or so unles you are a fanatic. One whole room devoted to a large model railway- if you like that kind of thing. Also some grisly dungeons, and displays of old tools and farming appliances with some fairly educational information. Inside, and in fact then all the way around the park are amusement games and interactive displays which are made up from reconditioned old pier attractions. These are fascinating - but do be prepared with a ton of 1p- 10p coins to get them going - none of it is free! Outside there are a selection of childrens rides, again fairly traditional and slow paced - so more for the very young. Also there is gnome land which is bizarre, cute and disturbing in equal measures. There is a whole village of houses, pubs, etc,. where these gnomes live, and you can peer through the windows and observe them in their daily lives. Set in Woodland its very picturesque and mildly entertaining for adults - I am guessing young girls would enjoy this most. Hubby insists the gnomes were all models - but I am not sure!! Lots of traditional fun to be had also with crazy golf, a huge slide, and water fountains/ interactive displays. Not sure how you would fair in bad weather as most of the action was outside. If you prefer genteel and thought provoking rather than action-packed you may enjoy it here.

I found the prices fairly expensive as for a child over 14 years it is 12 pound so straight away that's 24 pound gone. My daughters got in for free so I suppose that was a good thing. My daughters favourite thing was when they were walking around part of the site where they had these little boxes where they had to press the button and when they did there favourite nursery rhymes played and little puppets inside moved. They were both racing to press the next one. They also enjoyed the water/light show I remember seeing this when I was younger. My favourite bit was watching them trying to find the golden nuggets amongst the sand. Other things that are at the site are: rides, tilting house for you to try and walk around in, old slot machines for you to play on, walk around the grounds, go through the gnome land and lots more, mini golf. Overall I would say this is a great place to go but I probably would only go there once a year.

What a day I have had!…read more I thought, the rain is pouring, wind is blowing like like an Indian Restaurant after vindaloo night, the perfect day for a trip to the beach! I arrived and parked in the car park behind Aldi's which reminded me I needed to hemeroid cream next Thursday. I called into "The Beachcomber" and I was a little disappointed it didn't sell combs. My hair had been blown all asunder in the wind (what a day to forget my seagul feather plumed hat!) The bar man was friendly and I enjoyed joking with him as I ordered a pint of Pinot Grigio. I drank the whole glass in one gulp my thirst was so severe. Very nice it was too. Hints of citrus, top notes of mint, dill and vine ripened grapes. And a wonderful overtone of cow pats and graveyard dirt. After finishing my pint, I walked down to the food vendors and came across Sinatra's. I ordered a bacon and cheese hotdog. Service was excellent except for the baboon who was doing unspeakable things with a banana (I saw his eyes, they had murder in them). They served me my hotdog and I filled a shotglass with mustard, before sitting down on the beach. This is where the real drama started. I was attacked by the SEAGULLS FROM HELL. MINIONS OF BEELZBUB. WINGED RAVEN OF THE DEVIL. TORIES!!! (Probably didn't help that I was wearing a coat made from bread and sing "Nom, nom, nom! Look at these buns!") No, this amusement park is more like a permanent fairground, with all the slightly dodgy looking rides (the sort you can pack up in the back of a lorry and drive to the next destination) and the slightly dodgy looking operators. This being said, you can still have a good time at Coney Beach, it's just going to be the kind of fun you get from eating too much candyfloss. The location is quite nice, with a large and popular beach and seafront just a hop skip and a jump away. There are also donkey rides available if you're into that kind of thing. It's something a bit different anyway.

In the 20+ acres you have all the reg farm animals to feed. Theres a couple of rides , bouncy castle and toy tractors to skoot around on. All this could be done in drizzly weather with wellys on but if its really bad theres a massive indoor play area. they have a small area for babys and toddlers thats well padded and keeps them entertained for ages. The older kids have lots to climb and the tallest slides i have ever seen. my heart was in my mouth watching the kids come down it , but they thought it was wicked. The farms very easy to find as burnham-on -sea isnt a big place to get lost in. well worth a visit :)

It has a bouncy castle, trampaline,'cuddle club' where you can cuddle ginea pigs and rabbits, outdoor slides, swing boats, climbing frame, ride on tractors etc and a large indoor play area with ball pits, lots of slides and places to climb around. Also it has paddocks with animals in (such as cows, lamas etc.) which you can feed and indoor barns with pigs and horses in. It is a great day out and you can stay for hours without your kids geting bored.

So it's useful that I have the mental age of a child at times and so Diggerland is like my dream day out when I'm feeling in said state. Bring on the diggers. What a great attraction this is for children and the tagged along parents. Size really does matter here so let's rejoice in that. So what can you expect...well blatantly diggers silly. It's hardly going to be a bun fight (though that'd be fun too). What's more you actually get to ride in these bad boys. Come on now what's not to love. The kids (and us "grown ups") can have a go on dumper trucks, mini diggers and get this; a giant digger. All supervised co course but it's motoring madness gone wild. You'll also learn about the world of the digger and you can grab a quick burger and drink at the Dig Inn. So poop, poop for a day of motorised action that won't get you arrested on one of those videos the internet has so many of these days (I needed the money).

Barry Island grew up in the late 19th and early 20th Century as a seaside destination for workers from the South Wales Valleys north of Cardiff, complete with funfair and (later in the 20th century) a holiday camp. The railway was opened at the start of the August Bank Holiday in 1896 (the buildings have the date of construction as 1895 on them) as an extension of the Barry Railway, and Barry Island quickly became a very busy excursion station, handling 150,000 passengers in one weekend at its peak. It was provided with a large station building, three platforms and traditional large canopies. The line continued through the station to a terminus at Barry Pier, but since closure of that line in 1976, Barry Island has been the terminus. The trains now terminate at one end of the platform, with the buildings and the far platform having become part of the Barry Island Railway heritage line, but the site currently looks very sorry, with weeds everywhere, and a general air of dereliction. It is well located, however, close to the beach, cafes and the funfair. A new canopy has been provided for the terminating trains, but it provides meagre shelter from the winter Atlantic winds. The station still gets three trains an hour off peak from Cardiff and the valleys north of Pontypridd, and is busy with commuters and summer visitors (over half a million passengers a year, in total). It could just do with a lot of tidying up.

Quite often I've got off the train and seen disappointed prospective fairground customers - they've usually travelled far to come for a day out at the fairground - only to see it shut. I couldn't tell you when it's open - so if you are coming to Barry Island to visit the Pleasure park then don't expect it to be open - if it is, it's a bonus!

We arrived around 10am ( opens at 9:30am on a Weekday ) and were surprised the parking lot wasn't that busy. We had prepaid our tickets / wristband etc ahead of time so didn't have to waste time there and walked in. We managed to see some of the animal exhibits and ride a few of the rides before our allocated Safari drive through of 12:30pm. Once we lined up and began our drive it took about 2 hours, it also became clear that the drive could be more efficient if people actually paid attention to the rules. If it says traffic on the right side doesn't stop ( It states if you want to see the animals to stay to the left ) then don't stop and hold up the rest, if you do then you're a problem. If it states to keep your windows half way up and not let the animals put their heads inside and you do just that then you're putting the Animals and potentially yourselves in Jeopardy, if you do then you're a problem. If it states not to feed the Giraffes because they're monitoring their diet and you then allow the Giraffe to come inside your car while feeding them then you're a problem. I hope if you're one of the above people that you're reading this because....you're an entitled problem. With that being said, the problem people aren't the fault of WMSP. Once our drive was complete we went to park back up and found the parking lot to be drastically busier than when we left. We would certainly advise you if you want to get more done to try and show up early. Price of tickets wasn't bad considering its a major attraction and the price of food and souvenirs while high didn't seem too high to us. A great day out overall and recommended.

Even though the place is super crowded, it wasn't dirty because there was constantly staff walking around ensuring that all the litter left by drunk people were cleaned up. The Christmas decor was top notch as well, with the traditional wood cabins for all the food stalls and shops. ~ Variety: The main reason why they don't get a full 5 stars from me. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of things to do if you have kids. A good 3/4 of the event space is composed of kid-friendly rides! Guaranteed that your children would be massively entertained for hours here. Unfortunately, my partner and I didn't have any kids and adult entertainment is limited. There's ice skating, a bar, ice sculpture viewing, and a ferris wheel. A small selection of things that doesn't really populate an entire evening (though I guess you can spend plenty of time at the bar). ~ Food: The food they had here was definitely amazing, though I'm slightly disappointed at the choices. They had plenty of drinks options, but only sausages for hot food. Desserts however include crepes; nutella crepes anybody?! With an ice-rink, fairground, tents filled to the brim with winter warmers and treats, if your not feeling festive by the time you've left your name must be Ebaneezer. Even me, the harshest Christmas critic left planning on putting a tree up. With so much to do and such a pretty, happy atmosphere this is a must for people who still believe in the guy with the red suit. The ice rink is a nice size and plays up to the date chart music mixed in with the odd carol. Staff have that friendly aura that usually only comes with Disney Land. The hot chocolate, although slightly pricey is seriously out of this world and if you feel like being really cheeky add a sneaky Baileys. I'm off now to play; 'Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!'
