If you don't see the van first upon pulling up at the location, which you'd have to be a bit blind to miss seeing that it's a van-sized beatbox stereo, you'll see half the neighbourhood lazing around on the grass with bottles of beer and wine waiting for their burger order. The other half of the neighbourhood make up the very long queue leading up to the Beatbox van. What is everyone queueing up for, they're just burgers? Well, they're not JUST burgers. The grass-fed beef burger is the best $11 you'll ever spend on a meat burger, and likewise with the 'shroom burger for $10. There aren't any fancy fillings, just the usual cheese, tomato, cos lettuce, onion and stereo sauce - simple and perfectly balanced to showcase the fine quality and excellent flavour of the beef/portobello mushroom. The fries at $5 a serve with a range of sauces (mayo, tomato or spicy tomato relish or stereo sauce) are crispy and fresh. The only downside is the long, long, long queue and up to an hour wait for your burger, but come expecting the long wait - bring friends and drinks - and it's actually a really pleasant wait. I still give it 5 stars based solely on the quality and flavour of the burgers. Stay up-to-date with the Beatbox's whereabouts by following them on Twitter. They also tweet as soon as the burgers run out (usually by 8.30pm), so you'll know when to give up on the dream and find something else to eat until the following Friday.

Their menu is quite extensive with about 18 options for their rolls/wrap to choose from, they also do the traditionally popular parma and there are a couple of salads on the offer as well so you can be sure to find something to suit your craving. If you're dining in, bring a bottle of vino because they welcome BYO. The pizzas themselves are good, but certainly not the best I've ever had. The base is a little on the thicker side, which means you probably can't eat as many slices as you'd like. Let's face it, I'm a guts and I love eating an entire thin-based pizza myself. With the pizzas from I Carusi, I needed to tap our after a few slices which was a shame because the toppings were tasty and I loved the overall flavour. If you get a chance to look at the menu online I recommend it as there is so much to choose from you will feel you have to give credit to everything! This is why dining in a larger group heightens the I I Carusi experience as share plates are a great way to get started followed by a mix-match array of many pizza choices. I would highly recommend the Salmone - Tomato Base, Marscapone, Smoked Salmone and Fish Roe with Dill. The Americano, Quattro Formaggi and the Speciale -Tomato, mozzarella, soppressa, roasted peppers, artichokes & olives. Who am I kidding I've tried them all... even the Margherita is amazing. Other than the fact that the food here is delicious and cheap, the owners and staff are really what make this a worthy experience worth crossing town for. Run by a family for the last 12 years, they're super lovely and really care about their customers. The "father" is so kind and will make a point of walking around the tables outside to check that his customers are happy, that they have enough napkins and that they're looked after. I love chatting to him and if I time my lunch break right I might be able to sit with him while he has his lunch break in the late afternoon. It turned out she didn't have a clue, and our order was bounced around between 4 different tables before it was given to me. At one point, she even gave the order to me, then took it away, and then returned to hand it to me again! The sandwich itself was good value at $8, but no where near as large as others have suggested. I finished it without a problem, and I wouldn't consider myself to have a bigger appetite than most guys. The salad and sauce was nice, but the falafels were ordinary. I'd have preferred them to be crunchier on the outside and soft inside. The other disappointment was that they used packet pita bread rather than baking their own, as any proper restaurant in the middle east would do. Even so, if I were in Coburg again, I would return to Half Moon Cafe for lunch.
