After a morning stay, I would pick her up and she was calm and happy in my office after spending time with the other dogs and the staff. She is always excited and eager to visit and see everyone there, so I know it's a good experience for her. They are careful about the dogs' medical records being up to date and notifications of illnesses, etc. Just adopted a new puppy and enrolled her in the Puppy Socialization class which was GREAT! The staff and trainers are very knowledgeable and kind. I am retired now, so don't really need daycare for my pups, but I will continue to take them mainly for socialization with their canine friends. Next up is enrolling the new puppy in basic obedience. I HIGHLY recommend this business!

I have a little anti-social monster that terrifies everyone except for our local dog whisperer (Christine). My dog King was so happy that after two weeks of being away at the Kennel, he did not want to return home with me.. King fell in love! When it was time for me to pick up my pups, I got to Lafayette Kennels super late because of delayed flights. It was around 11pm and I was supposed to pick them up at 6. However, Christine was playing with them calmly until I got there. I could not have asked for a better experience. Can't wait to go back!

Our regular kennels back home were all booked up so we needed to take them with us but board them close to the Fairgrounds. Christine made us feel very comfortable with boarding them there. She was thorough with all the food, meds, personality and health issues. The kennels smelled clean and looked it too. Our schedule was unpredictable but she was very flexible with us. She was just as organized when we picked them back up. Our dogs were happy and freshly bathed when we returned for them. We felt it was a good value and gave us piece of mind. I found this kennel through a google search and then looked them up on Facebook, we had a last…read moreminute trip home with for a funeral, I called and explained that our pup was a nervous nelly who hated being alone, and when left crated he hurt himself, so keeping him crated at home for the arrangements wouldn't have been an option. The owners are a wonderful couple who are SO FLEXIBLE, they allowed me to drop off and pick up at the times of the services , and took such great care of him. Flint came home happy and tuckered right out from his busy day with his new friends. The facility is COVID friendly, clean and beautiful. Conveniently located just out of the town of McGraw. I would recommend this place 100x over for a safe loving environment for your fur babies. If you read my other reviews you can tell I appreciate service, and Chestnut Ridge delivers. They are not raising German Shepherds to get rich. They are doing it because they love what they do. The best breeders always do. I purchased four German Shepherds going back to 1996 and each one was/is fantastic. They all lived past 12 years (not common for big purebreds) and had great temperaments. Anywhere else I would have paid 3 - 4 times as much. I have purchased German Shepherds from other kennels and the temperment of the dogs I had were closer to what the general public thinks of German Shepherds. Auburn has a gem here take advantage of it, and reserve your puppies early they go fast. I live in Michigan and my next puppy will be from Chestnut Ridge.
