Ok I have a duty to do this review...
So this particular Super C was always our go-to grocery spot...cheap groceries, huge selection, well organized, decent produce. But this is no longer the case and we will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.
Once this past fall, we bought a frozen lasagna...it was rotten. I'm not kidding or exaggerating... We cooked it and started eating it but it tasted off and kinda looked weird so we scooped all the tomato sauce off to see the noodles ...they were GREY-GREEN... Not like spinach noodles ... Like gone bad regular pasta noodles. Gross. Whatever though, we thought, probably an isolated event. Nope. It happened again a couple months ago with microwave meals...not quite as rotten but clearly not kept at the appropriate freezer temperature.
But since then, we've also been noticing the selection of all the different products has been decreasing too...(especially the salad dressing section).
We've bought items that only after getting home we realized were already passé date. (For example yogourt and eggs once... You don't necessarily think to check those dates until after they've been in ur fridge awhile y'know...). The produce too goes bad ridiculously fast (talkin less than 24-48 hours even sometimes!) and the selection there too I find is getting worse... It took me over 5 minutes of feeling tomatoes to find 3 that weren't mushier than baby food.
We contemplated complaining to the store manager...but we imagine they will fall back on the economy prices as an excuse so it doesn't seem like there would be much point.
So there you have it. Save your money at your own risk. (Which isn't actually saving when you hafta throw 10$ out here, 6$ out there etc...). I'm going to IGA or Frutta Si from now on, I'd rather pay a bit more and actually get to eat the food I buy. read more
