I had a terrible experience, they were recommended by some friends, I've been there last Friday, and I went there with my motorcycle once that my car is broken and that is the reason I was there. However, I had no chance to talk, there were two mechanics, and they start to yelling NO MOTORCYCLE, and I said, I have a question, sir, but they didn't allow saying the reason I was there, after that i left right the way. I definitely do not recommend them for anybody because no one deserves to be treated like that in a business. read more

The guys at Super Auto Repair are so helpful, friendly and best of all, honest. I've been in a few times for issues that they totally could have gotten me to pay through the nose to fix, and each time, the diagnosed the problem for free and fixed it for much less than I expected. Once, they actually fixed a fuel line problem free of charge. While the guy was checking everything out, he saw it was a really quick and easy fix, so he just did it and told me not to worry about it. Every other auto repair shop I've been to over the years has come back with dire descriptions of multiple parts that needed to be replaced, or charged high fees just to diagnose the issue. This place is awesome! They were able to fit me in for brakes! I was searching and searching all morning long and inside me, my intuition was telling me these places aren't to be trusted... so I made a phone call to my dad and he told me my uncle uses this place for his cars since he lives in the area. I was excited and thankful that I asked my dad for help or else I would not have found this place! He is a very honest man and he was fast as well! He knew what he was doing and I felt very safe and in good hands. I must say he has an accent but not so huge where you cannot understand him. Owner is trustworthy and does not overcharge. If you tell him all the things wrong he is good at letting you know what the issue is without selling you more repairs that you don't need. The 2 times I've taken my Subaru (2014 Forester) here he visually checked it out on the spot for a quick diagnostic. I got my brake pads replaced and relay fan plug replaced here. I took my 2003 Mercedes E500 there today for a brake job and to replace a lower ball joint. Before bringing my car in, i called several places including the Stealership, and they all qouted me 2 arm and 2 leg. Tien and Joe at Super Auto quoted me a price over the phone that i thought was a joke. 60% cheaper then the other shops! Too good to be true right? Well guess what, it is true! Not only that its cheap, their service and knowledge about Benz, including other vehicle is TOP NOTCH. They're honest and will not try to rip you off like some of these other shops. They have my car running like it did when it left the Stealership. The place is small, not the cleanest, but their service Is what matters. Tin!!! Tin is the only mechanic I've ever known. My dad has been coming to him for all our car problems since I was a little girl. Since I've entered the real world and gotten my own car, Tin has been my go-to. Very reliable, good deals, and he's funny too! I come to him for everything! Even minuscule things like changing headlight lightbulbs and even checking my oil/water and tires before going on road trips. If they had a tidier/more comfy waiting room I would totally give him 5 stars. I rarely have a seat and actually wait there...most of the time I walk over to the Plaza and chill at either Starbucks or Barnes and Nobles. Overall, you can't go wrong with SuperAuto. Give it a try if you're looking for a handy-dandy trustworthy mechanic with reasonable prices. read more

Not closed at ALL! An amazing & honest car mechanic.. My Jeep needed to change CVs boots and axle (drove it with broken CVS boots for 5 months) and also had a leak in the left rare wheel as well... Recently moved to CA form ATL, GA and being blond lots of mechanics tried to over charge me..NOT Tin! I stopped to Super Auto Repair because I saw the sign saying the fix domestic cars (rare thing in CA apparently) and Tin and his son were more than polite, honest and accurate. Everyone can google and have an estimate in their head..Tin was honest and did not try to fool me at all. They are amazing and I could trust them from the first sight. The best part was that today that I received my car back he showed me the changed parts and he asked me if I wanted (the old ones back) ! Who does that nowdays in US. He is so great. I have been looking for a mechanic like that for loooong time and I am happy I found Tin. I will return back to fix my water pump leaking and change belt. I have only two regrets about writing this review: (1) That I can't give 100 stars; (2) That it has taken me sooooo long to write my review! I went to Super Auto Repair because my 1998 Jeep Wrangler failed emissions due to a throttle position sensor. I cannot say enough about the owner, Tin. He is like a trusted family friend, or neighbor. You can relax and trust that your vehicle is in the absolute best capable hands. I am so thankful that I found Tin and Super Auto Repair. When I arrived he was friendly, and welcoming. He looked at my vehicle, and installed the TPS that I had purchased. He checked to make sure that it would read properly on the emissions retest. I paid only $60 total. Fabulous! And because he is a consummate professional, Tin could not help but notice little minor details that, were they addressed, would spare me heartache in the future or just help vehicle performance in the main. Usually, this is where the customer gets a lump in her throat and waits for some long list of suggested repairs...expensive and urgent, of course. But not so with Tin. The next thing I knew he had made minor adjustments and fixes, and never charged me a dime for them. He treated my Jeep as though it were his own, and he treated me as though I were his family member. I trust Tin as a person, and his judgment and expertise completely. OBVIOUSLY NOT CLOSED ! (?) When we first arrived here from New Orleans (by way of Little Rock - running from Katrina) we knew almost no one. The 1992 Cadillac had made it across the country, but it was a long, hard ride pulling a trailer. The first experience I had with mechanics in Berkeley was frankly terrible. Quoted one price charged another for work that was either done wrong or not at all. Finances were TOUGH and wasting money trying to find an honest qualified no nonsense mechanic was painful to say the least. Then someone introduced me to TIN at Super Auto on San Pablo. First off, Tin has a smile that could lite up El cerrito. He is personable, knowledgable and obviously a hard working guy. I was so badly burned that I was overly cautious at first with Tin, trying Super Auto out on brakes, shocks and simple stuff first. Then I had a fuel pump go out, then some electrical issues, engine and computer issues. .And on and on. Tin and Super Auto kept my Caddy going for three years. It didn't matter what problem I drove in with. When I left Tin's, the car was fixed. He guards my wallet, gets things done fast and right the first time - every time. My lady bought a used Honda Accord. Tin evaluated the car, spotted immediate problems and helped me project costs so I could finalize my deal. Then he fixed the car. It's been 3 years and he spotted EVERYTHING that was wrong with the car in the first 10 minutes we were in his shop. The price is ALWAYS better than anywhere else. The work is always done right the first time. Super Auto is a no frills shop. No coffee and danish here. No starched shirts on a "repair manager". No advertising to jack up costs. Just Tin and a crew of plain old great mechanics doing their work every day. I have to thank Tin for his help with my car. I was having hard times and so was my Caddy. He made it all work, for a fair price and with a smile. I can't tell you how helpful and enjoyable he has made this otherwise VERY difficult situation. So thank you Tin. I just bought a used but very clean Lincoln LS. I took it to Tin FIRST. I asked him " Can you work on this?" He smiled at me ... So whatever your vehicle needs are...this is a reliable shop. Benz dealer wanted almost a thousand dollars and this shop was able to get it done wayyyy cheaper and did a great job to top it off! I've used Super Auto for most of my auto repairs for 10 years since we moved to Albany. Always been treated fairly and they do know their stuff. Looks very low rent but service is top notch. Always willing to go the extra mile like recommending used parts if they think it would make economic sense (for my beater Ford). Also see them do a lot of work on high end cars. The place might scare you off (they need a housekeeper for their little office) but the service and care are top notch. Sometimes they do little things and refuse to charge me and I end up bringing them food or drink gifts to show appreciation. A rarity in this day. read more

I try to do all my own auto repair. When my wife's car started losing power steering during and after a long trip, I replaced the power steering pump, but there was no improvement. Fluid started leaking from one of the boots on the rack-and-pinion. I read about how to do the rack and it decided was too big of a job for me to do especially with no garage to use. I got quotes from several mechanics. I choose Tin to do the repair as the price was the best from a shop (half of a competitor a block away) and his shop is close by (I could not drive far with no power steering fluid). He was OK with me getting the part online and installed it for the quoted price. His son called during the work to say the tie-rod ends were shot and that they should be replaced. I asked the price, it was the Oreilly price, and there would not be an additional labor charge, so I said OK. Tin put in a temporary bolt on the shifter since it was missing one and ordered the proper part. When we received the car back it worked as expected except for a new rattle. My wife took it back but Tin could not hear it. When the bolt arrived, he took another look and found the thing that needed to be tightened and installed the bolt for $15. I will be checking with Tin in the future before I dive too deeply into my own auto repairs... it may be better to pay a professional than to do it myself in some cases. read more
