But before the cheese curd endeavor, I had ordered a scoop of ice cream which was darn near the best I've had in a very long time - so good it rivals my ultimate favorite frozen custard. I forgot the exact flavor name of ice cream, but it was a peanut butter chunk chocolate.... Also, this "scoop" of ice cream I requested was not merely a scoop, it was more like a bowl! Also picked up a variety of meat, summer sausage and meat sticks. Never can go wrong here. Highly recommended if you're within an hours drive! Funny thing to add is my work colleague was with me - he did not grow up in Wisconsin and never had fresh cheese curds. I had been talking about squeaky cheese curds before we had been here and he gave me the crazy WTF look when I was trying to describe them. Well, he popped a few into his flapper, and he started to tell me "hey, these squeak when I chew them!". He's then telling me, hey.. squeaky cheese curds... they actually squeak! Laughing his ass off at the same time ..... and amazingly, that bag disappeared very quickly

If you see it, and you like cheese, you're gonna want to pull in. This place is unassuming and nothing special per se, but you're here for cheese. This establishment has processed cheese, Cheese curds, jams/jellies, crackers, etc. The thing here that is awesome is their aged cheddar cheeses and from 10 to, I think, I saw a 20-year-old shard cheddar. All of these cheeses are very reasonably priced. Either way, I need about a couple of pounds of 12-year and some aged brick cheese. They were the best thing ever. I have this on my radar now. Whenever I go to Wausau or Stevens Point, I am hitting this place and stocking up on my cheese.

The lovely short lady with glasses in the kitchen who always has a smile on her face. She always there to say good morning or ask how my day is doing. She has always had the hot case stocked with food no matter what time it is. I haven't seen her in about a month so I'm not sure what happened to her but I have not gone in there since. A couple of other customers I heard quite going there to because of the case. There has been hardly any food in the hot case at anytime. Even at night too I heard. Ever since she has left it seems like no one gives a crap about the customers or doesn't want to do anything. Sorry to say but that doesn't look good on a manager or company. Also when I did come in there the employees at the front counter were either chatting on their phones, with each other. One being the manager. How can a manager run a store if she is part of the problem. They hurry up get your transaction done and go back to doing what they were doing. No thank you have a good day or anything like that. To me that is very disrespectful. What is also disrespectful is employees at the front counter eating and coming to the counter with food in their mouth. Doesn't these employees get a break time to eat? The appearance of the store. Again it's like the manager or employees don't care what it looks like. The floors don't look they have been swept or mopped. Rugs look filthy. Sometimes employees have just regular clothes on and no company uniforms. Counters look like they are never wiped off. Especially coffee and cappuccino counter. One time I went to go get cappuccino and it was so disgusting I just walked away. I did go in there awhile ago and the employees in the back were listening to music so loud and talking so loud I could hear them as I walked in the back door. I could hear the hole conversation. I'm sorry to say but that turns customers away. I hope things change around Stratford Cenex so people will want to come back
