This science museum is definitely worth visiting. It's located in the heart of Tikkurila, outside…read moreof Helsinki. You can take a metro or a buss and walk a short distance to the museum. It's a great learning experience and has something to offer to children and adults. You can spend several hours going through all activities. Now, if you do not want to spend a lot of Euros at the Cafeteria, eat before and take few snacks for the kids. After the visit to Heureka, you can find several places to eat in Tikkurila close to the museum.

The museum is located between Helsinki and Espoo and very easy to access. The museum features…read moreartwork from Finnish art nouveau artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela. His work is very art nouveau inspired but with a very strong Finnish nationalism focus (drawn when Finland was a grand duchy of Imperial Russia). The main building, built in the Finnish romantic architecture style from the turn of the century), is a very interesting mix of nouveau and ancient Finnish castles from folk tales. The inside of the museum is also quite fascinating (a floor made of burnt circular cut logs, for example) and the artwork very good. An older building, high Victorian period, stands next to the castle-like museum building and features Finnish pastries and coffee/tea. Those visiting Finland wanting to get the Finnish experience would be well advised to go to this museum.
