Worst customer service! Easily one of the rudest interactions I've had. I was standing outside looking through the window and reviewing their clothes and city flyers posted on the window, when an employee made eye contact, said hi, and then immediately shut the door in my face and I heard the door lock. After catching an afternoon movie with my friend, we walked around old town, Monrovia and stumbled upon this boutique shop. They have cute handpick selections of stylish items and because it was black Friday they actually had I believe a 20% off sale on certain items. This place is definitely a little bit pricey in comparison to a lot of the other fast fashion places that I've gone to, but I guess because these are more curated pieces. I ended up grabbing a long sleeve sweater for the holidays and it came out to about $30 after the 20% discount. Lots of issues here. The first one is NOT why I'm giving it a 1-star review, just something of note: during the height of the pandemic I came in a few times to try to support a local small business but they did not wear masks (not saying this out of politics, but they were breaking the mask mandate) - just thought it'd be relevant since you now know that this business breaks the law when it comes to business regulations, and you don't know what other laws or mandates they are ignoring. Anyway, the reason why I'm giving them 1 star is because they are rude, sometimes even mean, and also refuse to believe when their website has incorrect information listed. Like I said, I went in several times, and every time was the ONLY customer not greeted and the only one not asked if I needed assistance. It might have been discrimination (maybe they didn't think I spoke English) or it could have just been terrible customer service. I also once heard the woman say "African American" to her sister (or friend?) on the phone (more about this below) in a way that made feel extremely uncomfortable even as a non-black person. This woman actually did not get off the phone the entire time I was there even when I stood right in front of her to ask a question, and the conversation was casual gossip and not business-related. She was on the phone other times when I was there as well, although sometimes she hung up to answer a question and then would immediately call the person back, making customers feel uncomfortable about bothering her. Now, on to the more directly mean comments. I was told that I had extremely broad shoulders (which I don't, I'm a small person) and was repeatedly compared to "the gal that comes in and models our clothes" who was "actually tiny," presumably unlike me?? I wear a size small and when I asked if they had a small in a dress that I only found in a large, they laughed and said with my big shoulders the large would be fine (which it wasn't, I tried it on just to show them how ridiculous it was and they had to agree that I needed the small). Even if they really thought that I needed the large, they should NEVER laugh at a customer's request for a certain size or make fun of their body. And if I had "huge shoulders" why would they bring that up, especially in such a rude way? Why would they say that unlike me, their model was tiny? Also, I was told verbatim by this woman that clothes with minor damage (such as torn belt loops or missing buttons) are just placed back on the racks without a label or discount because apparently "most people don't care" about small things like that. To be clear, this was the same woman who was on the phone the whole time - the other woman who I saw less often (she's thinner and maybe taller) was a lot better about stuff like that and discounted a dress with torn lace on the neckline for me (although that was admittedly not "minor" damage) Lastly, their website inventory is sometimes wrong and I came in a few times expecting them to have sizes that they didn't. I showed it to them on my phone and they just dismissed me as if what I said was inconsequential. I only kept going because of the convenience of the location when I needed a last-minute outfit (and again, one of the women has better customer service), but now that they're moving I will never be a customer again. If you do decide to shop here, know that they don't accept returns and have a restrictive exchange policy. read more

The store manager/ clerk just told me that my size, Extra Large is 'not their look.' I'm so insulted and hurt. She was polite in being rejecting; good for her but I'll never go there again. I used to like at least their purses and jewelry, but guess they think a woman my size is disgusting. F*** YOU for yet again adding to shame and rejection for being a size 14. I was a different size not too long ago and was able to shop the large and occasional extra large, but all that's gone now. Eek! I love fashion! I love quality clothes and jewelry! I was told that I should go to Suo for a reasonable designer clothes for my GF. I'm in the Fashion Industry so I know quality and I know designers...This place has neither. This store is more like a rip on Forever 21 and most of the clothes here I feel just came from The Alley in DTLA. There is no such thing as customer service here. It is more like a girl behind a counter waiting for you to bring up your purchases. My GF was like "get me outta here!!!" If you like cheap clothes...hey go for it! You want to look like $47.56? Then this is your place! If you want to look like a million...sometimes you gotta pay near a million. Cute boutique store that is somewhat in an odd location. I have been here twice. The first time was a great visit considering I was the only customer. Second visit, there were two other customers so it took them a while to even acknowledge me. First time, I felt special. Yay! Second time, I sort of felt invisible. Sad face. Just because there seemed to be a regular who was in a rush and didn't seem to notice that I was there asking a question and trying to pay. I still ended up leaving with some cute things from both visits. The selection is unique and you know you won't see someone wearing the exact dress on the street. Yes, it happened to me when I was wearing one of my Cotton On purchases. It is small so it is very easy to browse. I came down the 2nd time because i saw a cute sweater in IG which would have been perfect for my sister. IG commented back and said it is available and when I got to the store, they are sold out?! The lady did tell to call on Monday to check. We'll see. The store itself has no ventilation and feels somewhat dusty. I did street parking the two times I have been here. I've always been a big fan of SUO and have purchased several fun summer dresses from here. I was sad to see the boutique close but sounds like they will be opening a new brick and mortar soon, yay! Anyways, main reason why why I am writing a review is that their online boutique customer service has been awful. If you contact them, it's unlikely you will get a response. Your best bet is giving them a call, which is difficult for me because of the nature of my work and being in remote areas. Suo is one of those little shops that you're happy you found because everything is relatively unique and you know you're not going to see 85 pre-teens wearing the same thing tomorrow. Lots of stylish and (mostly) well-made/quality threads. I like browsing through their rather extensive collection of dresses. Suo also has quite the collection of chintzy jewelry and interesting little cigarette cases/trinkets. Many hats and belts and such. As far as a foul employee...I've not run into her. True, it is a little pricey -- some dresses run $50, accessories around $6+, purses $40 -- but I think supporting mom n pop shops are worth it. I love SUO! I used to shop at their Citadel store for years and was really bummed out when I heard they were closing. Now I totally make the drive to Monrovia to buy! This location is pretty small but ample enough for all their wonderful things. I always walk out with way too much new clothing. Whenever I wear their clothing, I get compliments on it. With Suo you won't really have to worry if someone is wearing the same thing as you like you would at stores like Forever 21. Love love love! Whenever I have gone, the owner has been extremely nice! I love coming here when I come home! They have such cute stuff varying from dresses, blouses, skirts and the jewelry is all wonderful at a great price! I've bought a few items here and I adore the jewelry. They have a few pieces of each item, usually one of each size and possibly a few in the back stock room. They have different pieces ranging from short colorful skirts to simple blouses. The inventory changes, so it's hard to make review about the type of clothes, but it's all lovely. This boutique is your go to spot for the looks that are in for the season but at inexpensive prices. One of the gals that works there is very nice and approachable. I'm a dedicated SUO shopper. I usually stop by the Monrovia store every Friday morning. The clothes are cute and pretty reasonable. Whenever I walk in someone always greets me with a "Hello" and that's about it. They don't try and converse with you or try to push you to buy anything. I hate shopping at stores and the staff is all up in your face. I just wanna shop and that's it. If I ever ask for a different size or color in something they are always nice enough to check in the back and see if they have any others in stock. This is and always will be my go to store. LOVE SUO!!! P.S. Seems like everyone has a problem with the older lady. I don't get it! Just shop and get out of there. I've experienced her attitude before but there is no way in hell I'm gonna let her ruin my shopping experience. Besides she's not even that bad. Giver her a break! I thought this store was great. I did buy a shirt, bracelet and a pair of earrings. The color on the bracelet is already fading and I've only had it for about a month or two. Anyway, they have some great stuff. I have shopped at the one in the Citadel Outlet too. They both carry very unique items. I've never seen them in any other stores I've shopped at. However, I didn't get everything I wanted. The clothes there does tend to run a little high. You will probably pay about $30 or more for a blouse. They have really cute jewelry though. I did want to comment the day that I went, the lady that was there was very nice. I probably went on a day that the other rude people weren't there. The parking does suck. Luckily the day I went was on a Saturday, so my husband just parked off to the side of the store while I went inside. It's definitely worth a look and maybe buying a few pieces here and there. I like the clothes here but their customer service is nonexistent. I have purchased some dresses and tops that I get a lot of compliments on so I kept going back. However everytime I've been there I have noticed they arent really interested in their customers or at least not in me. No hello, no do you need help, not even a smile. I'm fairly new to the Pasadena/Monrovia/Arcadia area when I noticed this shop as I was driving by. The amazingly cute outfits in the display window were what caught my eye. I don't know how many times I drove by and kept saying, "one day, I'll go inside," but I finally did. It's a great little shop, and it is quite a secret to some. I've never seen them advertise, but their location is what keeps them in business, I'm sure. I didn't meet the rude woman that the others have mentioned, so I'm happy about that. Suo is a cute little boutique in Monrovia. An acquaintance of mine lives in the city and each time I've gone to her house...she's taken me by this little boutique. It's cute. The owner definitely has a good eye when buying for the store. The prices are good. Definitely try everything on when shopping here because the items change once they are off the hanger and on your body. Some of the quality of the clothing you must inspect...fit and fabric are a big deal to me and just because something is really cute...if it doesn't feel good against my skin...I'm not rocking it!!!
