I thought I would have to get an entire ingition…read morebarrel/cylinder as other certified mechanics said that there is definitely a problem with your lock itself as it was assessed by several mechanics as a "bad cylinder".....Not the case! The guys at Lock Doctor said that it might be possible the cylider is bad, but let's just try cutting your key to "code" (factory defaults). They did so and "VOILA"....I can start my car everytime with no problem whatsoever. Before, the key would stick and I would have to jimmy it just to get my car started. Even if I DO have to get a new cylinder down the road,the guys at Lock Doctor will simply "recondition" the existing cylinder and instead of roughly $700 for all new parts, I would only have to pay roughly $200...BIG DIFFERENCE!! I called Canadian Tire, they said they do not do that but call the Lock Dr. in Kelowna. I called, explained what was going on, he had me go out to the vehicle and try a few things. It worked!!! Not only did he help me get it out but told me what to look out for if this issue continues. Very honest people. They could have had me come down and then charge me for a very simple fix.
