Bedbug
Alondra R.

I don't want to be mean because I feel for people. Overall it looked okay in the room, it had a microwave and refrigerator. TV didn't work though. The bathtub looked new. And he needs to tell his cleaning ladies to change the sheets and towels even if they "look" clean. But it was literally infested with bed bugs, I've never actually encountered them in any motel/hotel until now. I felt them crawling all over me. They need to fumigate this entire place! He didn't want to give us a refund for only staying there 3 hours. I hope he takes this into consideration.

Totally standard motel. Not too dingy. Didn't feel unsafe. Unremarkable. TV was a little bit of a pain, but that's not a big deal to me.

It was clean, comfortable, and in walking distance to plenty of good places to eat.

Silver Cloud Hotel - Tacoma Waterfront

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Silver Cloud Hotel in Ruston, and by "pleasure," I…read moremean a full-contact endurance experience. Let's start with the parking lot, which appears to have been designed exclusively for clown cars or perhaps very optimistic compact vehicles. If you're driving anything larger than a shoebox, prepare for a thrilling game of "will this fit," followed by a graceful 17-point turn. The rooms are described as comfortable, which I assume is hospitality code for "cozy if you don't inhale too deeply." Spacious is not a word I would use unless we are comparing it to a broom closet. Now, if you enjoy saunas but wish they came without consent, you're in luck. My heater was stuck at a steady 78 degrees day and night, turning my room into a tropical retreat I never asked for. To their credit, they did move me... to a room where I could enjoy the next feature. Trains. Loud, proud, earth-shaking trains. All day. All night. Not "in the distance" trains, but "is there a locomotive in my hallway" trains. If you've ever wanted to feel like you're sleeping directly on a railroad track, this is your moment. There is technically a water view, which sounds lovely until you realize the parking lot sits right below your window. So when you open the blinds, you're not just enjoying the scenery, you're starring in it. Breakfast was... ambitious. I would have gladly paid extra for something edible, or at least something that didn't feel like it lost a fight with a microwave. After working a very long night, I thought maybe, just maybe, there'd be a small gesture of goodwill like a late checkout. Instead, I was told they had 68 checkouts that day, which apparently made flexibility impossible. No apology, no acknowledgment of the sauna experience, no effort to make it right. Just a firm "time to go." All things considered, I'd rate this stay somewhere between a 1 and a 2 out of 5. I won't be returning, and consider this your friendly warning: if you stay here, bring a small car, earplugs, and a strong sense of humor.

About a 5 minute drive there and we walked back which took us about 20 minutes. Easy peasy. We had 2 rooms, next to each other. One to get dressed and the other for family as we would explore Tacoma the following day. The rooms were decent size. We had a king bed and a full size pull out couch and a nice view. The room also had a Keurig and a mini fridge. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was breakfast in the morning that was pretty good. I was thrilled about the garage parking as I saw broken car windows of cars parked on the street. The garage was gated and required a key card for entry. I worried for nothing. My car was safe. My only gripes are that the rooms were not connected and there was construction going on. That was not enough to make me unhappy with my stay. Overall, 9/10 I would recommend.

They weren't a 100% cotton and that makes them just a little bit softer. My room was very clean. What can I say? I would come back when I'm driving through Tacoma. The downside.. Around 9:30 a.m. a dog started howling so I contacted the front desk and they said it was a service dog. Time to get up.

Wow, the hotel staff are very nice, good service, that was not enough. We stayed on the sixth floor and unfortunately could hear all the vehicles driving around at night (very loud). In addition to the outside noise, there was also the noise from the hallway which was rowdy. Now these things can happen, but would really drop them down to a one star was the fact that there was absolutely no parking when we came back to our hotel/the casino at 9 PM. There's no valet and there's no designated hotel parking so we drove around in the parking garage connected to the hotel for two laps in a long line of other people looking for a parking spot and found nothing! in addition to that, the parking garage on the hotel side makes absolutely no sense. It's In-N-Out aisle on the south end of the garage in the north end of the garage comes to complete dead end so as you're sneaking through, you would think it would circle around, but it doesn't. it's a dead end and it is a traffic cluster when you have folks coming to a dead end and then trying to figure out do I reverse or do I try to do some crazy u turn?! So we went over to the casino parking garage, which was bigger and more thought out as it pertains to traffic flow. After about 20 to 25 minutes of looking for a parking spot between the two garages, we eventually parked on the casino side because somebody was thankfully leaving for the night.

Look we stay at a lot of Marriott properties. Why, because…read morethe rooms are spacious and clean. The value is evident and the staff is almost always exceptionally friendly. Almost.... I had a run in with a gal one fine morning, her name is Edith. She was rude, curt and well a few other words I won't use here. I came down for coffee. 5:45 ish I approached the Bistro counter to ask where I could get coffee. "We don't open until 6:30!" Oh I see do t you have house coffee set up out here? "What do you want just like regular drip coffee?" Um yes. "Well I don't have a till yet so you can pay at the host desk and then come back here." You don't just have any out here like complimentary? "Well you can just drink the coffee in your room!" Ok! So I walked away from what was about to get explosive!!! Sat nearby to wait . At 6:15 she started to serve others, no "hey I'm ready now" or " I can help you now" When I finally ordered my $6.07 coffee I paid in cash. I could tell by the "humph" that this annoyed her. I don't believe I have stayed at a Marriot Courtyard that did not have house coffee in the lobby! I know I have never been verbally accosted like this. Look you are in the hospitality business m, I myself have been for 45 plus years, that ain't how you do it! She should maybe pursue a different career! This doesn't fit the Marriot guidelines I am used to! I will also say they during my stay I interacted with two other employees at said Bistro , Jasmine and Hellen and they both were extremely pleasant
