Constant contact with the school. I receive weekly emails from the director, updating me on lesson plans and any special events (think field trips and fundraisers). The teachers call parents monthly to address any concerns or questions we may have. Each month, photos of my child are uploaded to a private Snapfish account. They're cloth diaper friendly! Your child brings their own lunch each day, or you can opt to order lunch (menus and order forms are available from the school). Right now, my sons options for ordering lunch are Mac and Cheese from McAlisters Deli one on day, or Grilled Chicken from Applebee's on another day. Refrigerators and microwaves are available in the classroom, so my son generally takes leftovers for lunch. Also, the school is completely nut free! Okay...but what about academics?? Each week has a theme. Let's take the week they learned about dental health as an example. It included making tooth artwork, reading books about teeth, a visit from a dentist and learning the Spanish word for teeth (diente). In the short time my son has been in attendance, he's made so much progress. Their program truly is Kindergarten Prep. I can't wait until my younger son begins school here in the fall.

The teachers and staff here have been great to us and our daughter, she has made some new friends and is learning to socialize with other children. The pricing is great, a little below average pricing for preschools in the area. I guess my only gripe is the preschool meets 8am til 12pm; I would rather school start at 7:30 and go all day so it didn't interfere with my work schedule. But I do understand that's how most preschools are and we are lucky and happy to have found St. Timothy's.

Earlier today, all of the families were invited to the Halloween parade where all the children got to wear their costumes and walk around the grounds. We moved to Hilton Head from another state where he attended very prestigious schools. This school has been both his and his parent's favorite school. At the end of the day, he would not want to leave. I am a teacher and a former Head Start teacher. I was extremely impressed with their curriculum and learning centers. The school is well stocked with quality educational supplies and toys. The teachers are educated in the field, which is hard to find at a preschool level. The children where always actively playing or learning every time I observed. Even at nap time, when my child did not nap, the teacher would teach him individually. My son excelled both emotionally, socially, and academically at this school. There were some concepts that I had planned to teach him over the summer that are advanced for his age. I was pleasantly surprised that he had learned these concepts at school. Being an educator for that age, I have been to numerous schools. The teachers and children are the happiest that I have seen at any preschool. The teachers are not only excellent educators, they are wonderful nurturers. My child is an only child and needed help learning how to share and manage his emotions around other children. This school taught him these skills. The highest end schools in a large city did not work with him to teach him the skills. Teachers have to be very skilled and patient to teach a child how to manage emotions. I wish that we had moved sooner. My son is the happiest that he has ever been. My husband and I can say that Christ Lutheran Preschool is an excellent preschool. They go beyond the normal duty and provide music, chapel, learning activities, and family activities. Our family and my son have wonderful memories due to the school and staff. The staff was always very supportive of our needs. We will miss my son attending this school.
