Loved our stay at the Sunshine Coast Resort! If you are looking for a little getaway from Vancouver but want something different than Whistler but not as far as Tofino, Sunshine Coast could be for you. A short 40min ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay and then an easy and somewhat scenic drive and you are there! Great for rest and relaxation, this resort is quiet and there isn't too much in the area. A big group of us booked 2 of the Executive Cottages (side by side) and they were exactly as described on their website and just like the pictures. It is HOT up there but the AC works perfectly and quickly. Each unit has a hot tub, with a big connecting deck and plenty of chairs and space also with 2 bbqs. The kitchen is fully equipped with the exception of no oven. You might also need to ask the front desk for dish detergent and dishwasher cubes but they are friendly and accommodating. They even let us use the kayaks after 6pm for free! Not many restaurants in the area, so hit up the IGA on your way (it's about 3mins away) and there is also a BC Liquor Store in the same complex so you can get everything you need before settling in. The only thing we didn't like about our stay were the mosquitoes (bug spray and citronella candles did NOT work) and the fruit flies that seemed to be everywhere inside our units. Kinda out of their control anyway, so not a big deal and didn't take away from our time there. I would book again!

This resort has received positive reviews on Trip Advisor and on Yelp, but it did not match our expectations. The carpet and the bathroom in our suite were both dirty. The bath drain was plugged. The hotel mentions having a "giant hot tub", and we found it to be rather average and quite a walk from the suite. Cob webs and dead flies abounded. Even the Coke machine outside our door was left unplugged and full of cobwebs. On a positive note, the reception person was friendly and welcoming. On the whole, however, the "resort" does not match its glowing description on the website, and we feel it is our responsibility to warn others.

It isn't an uncommon occurrence for businesses to lose their mettle over the years, and let standards slip. However, I was stunned into silence when we arrived, as the owner of this motel actually raised her standards, instead of losing the plot. The grounds were immaculate. The rooms were like new despite the passage of time, and many guests over three years. There was just just one element to our stay that was less than endearing: our neighbours. On our first night, we chose to ignore all the noise next door, as we were extremely tired. On the second night, the noise commenced early in the evening, and by 11, it had worn us down completely. I wish I had approached the owner of the motel sooner, as she sorted out the problem instantly, and gave me her after hours number in the event the noise resumed. What a relief! Over three years later, and I still love this location very much. Highly recommended.

These cabins are nice. The bed is so comfortable and they even have heated flooring in the bathroom. The cabin we booked came with so many things that you would never get from a hotel (I.e. toaster, cutlery, plates, fridge, etc.) and for pretty much the same price. Honestly, if I had plans to goo hiking in the area or boarding at Whistler, I'd make this my god to accommodation. It's also a 10min drive from Alice Lake. One thing to note, and by no means is this a complaint, but bare in mind that not all of the cabins have a decent river view, but accessing the Cheakamus is only a couple minutes away. You can definitely hear it though and it's actually very relaxing to fall asleep to. Info: - The staff are very friendly - Fergies cafe is located here, which is a huge plus. - The parking spot is conveniently located right in front of your front door, which is very helpful if your unloading a bunch of bags and equipment. - Check out is a breeze. You just drop the key off at a box in front of the office.

The lodge was amazing! We used it for bbq and karaoke (that we brought ourselves)! Fergie's Catering for our wedding was fine dining! The river was beautiful, and made everyone want to explore! The couple's cabin was super cute and cozy! It was difficult to leave as we had the most perfect wedding! Having our families stay in the cabin made the wedding last all night! The room overlooks the inlet and it's just beautiful. We came back this month and it's now under new ownership and Adrian looked after us throughout our stay. We stayed in the African Queen room this time and we loved it! One evening we had the wood burning stove. So many little details in the room. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was huge. I wished we could have stayed there longer. It's a great place to go to just unwind. I also took advantage of the spa and had a massage and facial. The breakfasts were amazing! Our family along with another couple stayed in the Timberloft Cottage, which is a separate house from the main bed and breakfast. Staying in the cottages, you are responsible to make all your own food, but you'll have all the peace and privacy needed. There's a BBQ beside the front door and your own private hot tub on the lower deck. Inside on the main level, there's the living room, dining room, balcony, washroom and a queen size bed. Keep in mind that the walls aren't fully closed off from the main living areas so if you're a light sleeper, that might be a problem. There's also a skylight so you won't be able to sleep in unless you bring something to cover your eyes. Downstairs, there's a king size bed with washroom. It's a lot more comfortable downstairs as well as darker and quieter. The patio doors open to the hot tub from the room. I was in constant communication with Chris who is one of the owners before getting to Sechelt. He helped answer all of our questions and even went above and beyond to look up some details for us. Thank you! The only thing I would suggest is to install an air conditioner for the cottage because it got to a point where it was uncomfortable. Other than that, I wish we can visit on a yearly basis.

There's a big banner over the pub stating room rates starting at $50 a night, really didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with what I got. I have never been on the Sunshine Coast and looking at things I was passing by, I really didn't have any expectations. After a day of not getting much sleep, some good boozing, being on the water, and chilling out with good friends, I was exhausted, like give me a bed so I can shut down. We were guided to this place and was amazed the backside was facing Pender Harbour, but how good can this place be, I mean it's above a pub. One flight of stairs after checking in we went into our room, they provide you two keys, one for the front door of the building, the other for the room (no scanning card keys, get your mind out of the big city life!), and no elevator, just a flight of stairs. We were lucky to have a room facing the harbour, it was clean, roomy, and quiet. No carpets here, which I actually like, as you know that it's easier for the cleaners, and also for yourself to walk around and know there is no build-up in the fabrics. There was a regular box tv, two night tables with lamps, a desk, a coffee machine, and a full washroom with tub and shower. You really have to take your mind out of what you see, or have lived in today and to a simplier time of yesterday coming to a hotel like this, many will think it is a motel for the size of the building and the ammenities but for what your getting for the money your paying, it is really good. Free parking up front, a liquor store that is seperate from the pub downstairs, and a tranquil view that you don't get in the big city. The staff there were very friendly and we had a very good sleeping night. Some things of note on our stay, the water pressure on the shower head was a little weak, and the blinds on the window didn't come down (it was like a portrait view out of our room thought) thank goodness it was a gloomy day or the sunlight probably would have been shining bright and waking us up at 6 am, but it was just nice to lay there looking out the window. Asked for a recommendation for another hotel, and the gal working in the liquor store was happy to accomodate. There's a liquor store and a restaurant in the same building.
