What is restaurant to you, to me and my family it's a place where you eat food and spent time with your loved ones. I can't say the same thing about this place, me and my dad wore driving for the last 3 days and he wanted to give me a little treat . The salad was looking like it was two days old , I got my food warm my dad cold , I ordered omelette with cheese and ham , I couldn't even eat it , it was too salty . When I politely asked waitress that this food was to salty , thirty seconds later (owner or manager ) came up to us ,she was very disrespectful like we don't put salt in this omelette and this is how we make it , I'm sorry but I missed time when omelettes became straight up salt when I asked can I please get another she said that I have to pay extra that wold be 20$ for one omelette me and my dad didn't want to take it we stood up and left . In the end I lost time, money , and faith in better future with people like them . I wold not recommend this "restaurant" to anyone read more

This was a great place to have breakfast. The food was wonderful and you got a large portion. Our waitress and everyone there was very pleasant. Great breakfast on the road!! read more

Nice people, clean restaurant everything is made to order. We got fresh crispy fries, and the food was delicious! Thank You!!

Took a while for them to acknowledge us when we walked in and the servers were a little forgetful and short but the food was amazing. We had the chicken (you'd be stupid not to) and the elote corn bites were great too read more

I absolutely LOVE sunset grill . My husband is always ordering the plain dbl cheese burger & FF. He gets them perfectly made and we absolutely love the friendly service we get from our waitress Summer. Keep up the good hospitality :) read more

Sunset Grill - American Near Me - Kadoka, South Dakota

When you first walk into the restaurant, there is a sign on the front counter which reads: "Diner rules: take it or leave it." My recommendation is to leave it. read more

This was probably the worst stop our trip saver money keep on roll down a road $9 hotdogs was the special

We were traveling through as we road trip across the county. The staff were incredibly friendly, they let us charge our accessories before our next stop and the food was great at a very reasonable price! Would definitely recommend this place as a pit stop if you're in the area! read more

Wow. Don't eat here if you're expecting your meal within the hour. Super slow. The waitress isn't ornery in a fun way. Food is so -so. Did I mention the service is slow? I watched several people come in and sit down (seat yourself), then leave eventually because no one even acknowledged them. When the couple at the next table complained about their order not being ready yet, the (other) waitress apologized and said that one cook is blind and the other has only been there 3 months. The restaurant is small: it has 10 tables and a little bar that seats 4. read more

The older lady working was a hoot!! Food was made fresh and in a timely manner. Everything was great!

Went to Sunset Grill on a Sunday at 10:15 am for breakfast, only to find out they stop serving breakfast at 10:00. I was a bit disappointed they wouldn't just make us breakfast so they lost our business. read more

We stopped here on our way to Sturgis. Breakfast was amazing, fresh and delicious. Staff was nice and the wait for food wasn't too terrible. Will definitely stop here next time we come up. read more

We were staying at the nearby America's Best Value Inn. Went here for dinner. Burgers and fries were great! Would recommend.

Came in with a family of 5; 2 teenagers and a 3 year old. Appears we had a waitress nearing the end of her shift as she didn't greet us with a smile or smile once throughout the entire transaction. After being seated, we had enough time before she came back to have our food orders ready the same time as our drinks which appeared to annoy her due to the eye roll. 45 minutes for 2 burgers and 2 French dips which sat on the food counter for 10 minutes before my daughter asked the waitress if the food getting cold was ours. As an added bonus, we also got to listen to the waitress sigh every time she had to fill up a drink (we were seated by the pop station). Frozen burger patties and lunch meat for the French dip was pretty lackluster. Do yourself a favor and get food from the gas station. read more

We stopped here on a cross-country trip. The staff was super friendly and we really enjoyed the food. We were very glad we chose Sunset Grill instead of Subway. read more

If you're driving west on I 90, your options are limited. Happened upon this place. It shares a building with a Subway. Stopped for breakfast, and the place was packed with locals. Food was delicious, and the service was down-home delightful. Server was fast and friendly. Eggs, bacon, omelets, pancakes, standard breakfast. And much needed good coffee. Great place along a lonely stretch of highway. read more

This was the worst dinner I've had in 2019. The French dip was lunchmeat on a plain bun. The mashed potatoes were instant. The gravy was not real gravy. The coconut cream pie was an insult to all pies everywhere; it was a pile of fluff on a totally not holding together crumb crust. This dinner made me sad on the inside. read more

Traveling and just passing through. Wanted to support local and this is why this review hurts so bad... But this was absolutely awful! Instant mash potatoes, stale and greasy kids menu items, nickel and dimed with every option. You want lettus now your burger $1. Cheese?Another $1. One frozen burger, with nothing on it on a Walmart bun is $9.00. Just straight up nasty! Save you money and your stomach. read more

Can not say Enough about this place I broke down on the interstate right next to them I had to wait 2 1/2 hours for help to come in and write these people were so accommodating and the service was way beyond great so thank you read more

Not the best place but okay. I couldn't eat my hamburger steak because it was raw on the inside and burned on the outside. My husband had their goulash special which needed seasoning and was warm instead of hot. read more

When we walked in we debated whether to go right into Subway or left into the Sunset Grill. Unless you like dried out fried chicken or month old rock hard biscuits, go to Subway. read more

Please eat in Rapid or Chamberlain depending on which way you're going. This place truly is worse than a dried out TV dinner. The 'only' time I'd ever opt for Subway. Yes, that bad. Canned gravy atop cold instant mash potatoes. Priceless. read more

I'd like to review the food, but we arrived today and stood there while staff ignored us. After five minutes, we asked about availability and were told "We got nothing", after which the waitress immediately turned around and walked off before we could ask how long a wait might be. It's one thing to be full and busy, quite another to not greet a potential customer, not tell them immediately you're full up and/or offer a potential wait time, and not use any manners at all. The sign was right. This one should be left. read more

Good food, someone spend some money designing it. I ah e to say that I have never seen such beautiful bathrooms! Service was a little slow but I'm used to big city restaurants. We would definitely come back if passing through. read more

After a long day of driving we discovered this little place, next to a subway. It was packed !!a small little restaurant. The food was excellent I had broasted chicken ,mashed potatoes, gravy and corn and homemade biscuits. My husband had a 1/3 pound burger it was excellent with fries. The waitress was sweet and very patient. She was by herself. This is a little treasure I'm glad we stopped and we'll make it another stopping point next year. The menu is very simple but they do have pie for dessert. And everything is homemade. I am so happy we stopped to have dinner here read more

Stop here an now know not to. If you are looking for deep fried this is the place but don't come after 10am for breakfast as no go for that. I would look for something better read more

We were hungry from driving so long and I have to say the chicken tenders and fries surpassed my expectations. The service was great and we got our food quick as well. If your on I-90 and need a place to eat come here. read more

Great little small town place to get some grub. It's the kind of country food you get at grandma's. Nice staff and friendly locals. The steak tips were fantastic and my salad had homemade ranch, the kind you only get in a good diner. read more

My only advice, is if you want a good meal don't go here. The service was slow and the food was not what you would expect for an easy Fast breakfast meal and a very limited menu. The eggs weren't cooked through and the toast wasn't really toasted. The coffee was weak and had practically no flavor. The omelet that I had was supposed to be a veggie cheese omelette and it had The Omelette part but still runny inside with no cheese and veggies were not sauteed on the grill as The Omelette was not cooked through, and they were all raw just chopped and just shoved inside the omelet team. My recommendation is, choose another place down the road. read more

On our way back from the Black Hills, we were looking for a place to get a quick meal. Should have chosen the Subway. The waitress took our orders (5 of the 6 of us chose chicken) and asked what kind of chicken we wanted. All five chose chicken breast and leg instead of thigh and wing. Waitress comes back and says there are only three legs. Two of us say wing will do. Waitress comes back and says they only cooked three breasts. Two say they'll have fish and chips. My plate comes with fried chicken; menu said broasted. That is NOT broasted chicken, I say quietly, but I eat it without the skin. The corn wasn't done at the same time, but we did get our canned corn in a separate styrofoam bowl eventually. Lousy instant mashed potatoes and gravy; styrofoam plates and plastic forks. An hour and 20 minutes of travel time wasted. Go to Subway if you must stop here. read more

Stopped at this little hole in the wall in Kadoka, SD because my son is diabetic and we needed to stop to get him some food. I wish we would've gone to the Subway attached to it because the experience was god awful. We sat down at a table right in front of the register and they didn't even acknowledge us. Two groups of people that came in after us got their orders taken before we even got menus. When we did finally get our order taken the waitress didn't even know if they had steak. Then she put in the wrong order. It was a pretty busy in there, and at one point the waitress yelled out and asked if there was anybody that hadn't been served yet. The food was subpar (I ordered the chicken fried steak). To top it all off they asked if we would let a man sit with us so he could be served. If I could give it zero stars I would. If you are ever in Kadoka and need somewhere to eat, keep driving or grab a sandwich from the Conoco station next door. read more

After driving hundreds of miles through nothing but hay fields and Cows, we found this little treasure. The broasted chicken here is unbelievable and took me back to my childhood at church dinners. The staff was helpful, the place is clean, the staff and owner were extremely pleasant. read more
