I used my stay as a work sabbatical - and the bunk house was more than comfortable - it was charming in a way appropriate for the Great Plains. I took an introductory lesson on "Centered Riding" from Carol. I have been around horses as much as most suburbanites...but what Carol taught me was remarkable. Quite frankly, I dont have the vocabulary to describe it. She taught me something that I will never forget and always use - not just with horses, but with people too. Each couple had our own private bedroom and bathroom suites. Everything was neat and clean and so homey! There's a full kitchen and nice sized living room. The owners were in communication when we arrived, and when we left, and anytime in between that, we contacted them. They were always available. It rained the weekend we were there, so we spent time sitting on the front porch, at times watching the rain, watching movies and eating popcorn, or driving through the Flint Hills. It was so relaxing.! I would definitely recommend aunt Kate's cottage or one of the other Lark Inn Guest Houses if you were looking for a nice place to stay in the Flint Hills of Chase County Kansas.

The hosts were so helpful and thought of all our needs. They confirmed our arrival by text and had all the lights on and ready for us. There were farm fresh eggs, coffee, and homemade pumpkin muffins for us while there. The place was so clean and comfortable. Great kitchen, comfortable king bed, outdoor patio with a grill and table. So convenient if there for an event or to hike in Tallgrass Prairie. We will definitely book again next year.

This old school vintage motel has recently been renovated and is meticulously clean with very comfortable beds, bedding, pillows and towels. Very convenient having a microwave and refrigerator; they even provided a gift basket of goodies & snacks to enjoy during our stay. The grounds were clean, organized and very quiet; perfect for a good nights sleep. Best of all they are dog friendly and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
