Turning Point did not offer me much outside of a place to detox and a place to rest my head. Most of the clients that I spoke with are out the prison system. If you are addicted to crack, and need a place to sleep it off, I would recommend it. I also witnessed a large number of the clients that havd a "revolving system" of in and out multiple times. One guy told me that he was their many, many times. One councilor told me as I left "Relapse is a part of recovery" and "to come back anytime." I don't know if it's what he meant, but a number of the group had definitely done so. Also, if you are gay or lesbian, definitely do not go as a of the staff get involved with the mockery perpetuated by the prison system attitude of many of the other clients. In my 21 day visit two clients left due to harassment. I only saw it once and I said something to the offender, but it only stopped while I was around. On the other hand, if it's all that you can afford, it does offer a place to detox and get your feet on the ground. There are plenty of people that use it to stabilize. Good luck with your recovery process. At least I haven't gotten drunk yet to spite it...

The staff needs training on how to talk to the patients and learn to treat the patients with…read morerespect. Itaska the Director is very harsh in her approach and behavior towards patients. She is quick to condone and discharge patients without thorough and honest investigations. This fake hospital doesn't care about your sobriety Only your insurance. The staff and Techs are very rude and need to be trained on be more professional. Do not expect to be respected or treated like a human being prepared to be spoken to and treated like an addict.

Dr Kennedy knows his field and is turning out to be one of the best physicians I've ever gone to. If you are a new patient he will come in the room and introduce himself and put his folders down on the counter shake your hand and completely this into everything you have to say and we'll spend time with you. Then as you return to make a return visit or a monthly visit you do not have to wait long in the lobby normally about 10 to 15 minutes maybe and then once you are triaged you're put in your room and you might sit in that room 10 minutes before he shows up and gets you in and out depending on what you're there for He's fast when he needs to be I'm very thorough when he needs to be.
