There was a young man with a makeshift name tag on, seems to me like he was being trained, but his employer left him alone at the register, and he was definitely taking entirely too long. He also saw my cup of coffee and asked me if it was a Slurpee, which was very insulting. My senses were heightened because of the smell of the toot.

I wonder if they didn't get the correct order now that I think about it ‍ I was also debating between trying one of their pastries or their little ice cream collection on the side and I'm so glad I went with the ice cream because I got the White Chocolate Mocha Chip Cheesecake and wow... this was SO good. The restaurant is spotless, the bathrooms are far from the eating area that's a plus, they have outdoor seating,, great during nice weather. My wife enjoyed the croissant and the chicken salad at home, so it's a win for me. Inside Marylou's is a quaint but roomy space for the inside diners, with plenty of tables and booths. Outside, there is a porch to eat on if you prefer to be outdoors. It's shaded and brings me back to the summers I spent with my grandparents, where we ate and spent most of our evenings on their porch talking, laughing, and watching the sunsets. I pass this gas station at least two times a week. For no reason I can think of, other than the way it's tucked away from the corner of the intersection, I have never stopped here. It has a spacious parking lot and tall coverings over the gas pumps with plenty of room to park and navigate around large vehicles. The convenience store is quite clean and well-stocked with the kind of snacks, drinks, and a small amount of household items that you expect from a convenience store. The fuel prices are competitive and traffic was very low, at least when I visited. Also, I had a first-time experience in which the guy behind the counter (owner?) became very nervous about me taking pictures inside his business. I found myself explaining the Yelp Elite Squad, overusing the words "really, no really", feeling like I was making a case that it was good for him that I document his business cuz he has no reviews or pictures on Yelp, showed him the app, etc. I'm not sure he was fully convinced lol! Hopefully, my positive review will set his mind at ease. I can imagine there are nefarious reasons a person might take photographs inside a business. They are certainly security-camera'd up at this one. Thinking I will make this my new stop along this route for gas!

Another time I went to get coffee in the morning. All the sugar packets were hard. Someone spilled some type of liquid on them and instead of throwing them away they expected a customer to use them. Instead I bought a small bag of sugar and was question as to why i wouldn't use the sugar packets. How am i supposed to know what liquid fell on those packets? This would be a solid 4-5 star gas station if they learned to choose the customer first.

Clean, stocked and ready to support the folks coming in to go. And that gave me the confidence to fill up a large coffee.
