Sunny Acres is a summer camp for kids young and old. My kids have been to this camp for multiple years and have enjoyed it tremendously although, if you go for the whole summer, weeks start to repeat themselves like "Groundhog Day" - that's to be expected.
The camp is actually located in Baie D'urfé/ St-Anne-de Bellevue on the grounds of John Abbott College. It is a vast complex outdoor and indoor, by Lac St Louis. So kids will occasionally go have their lunch by the river. Of course, on rainy days, there is ample room inside to accommodate all the kids. They offer theme camps for different age groups and gender (tailored for sporty types, science type, or music/dance type ). You can sign-up the kids for different themes throughout the summer (science one week, cheer-leading the other). Special activities like horseback riding is also available but space is limited. Swimming lessons are given (all levels) and stroke improvement swimming for those who have passed level 10.
The day is structured in multiple blocks of activity so the kids are always busy doing something different. For older kids (14-15), there is a counselor in training (CIT) program. My daughter loved it.
Overall, the kids have a great time and it is priced right so the parents are happy too. Extended schedule are available for early morning and later part of the afternoon.
I wish I had had a camp like this when I grew up... read more
