What is it about us of late! I would have to say every second restaurant we visit is Indian/Sri Lankan and so it is with Sunil's..a lovely restaurant where the service is great and the staff very friendly, and happy to explain the dishes for the uninitiated... we made a point of trying to order dishes that we do not normally have ..ahh Bittara Boatu- a lovely entree of boiled egg cut in half and the centres filled with a tangy onion sambal placed on a piece of roti. sooo yummy also Pan Rolls- spicy, minced chicken rolled in a crepe, battered and crumbed (ok don't think about it being fried hit the gym tomorrow or walk the dog)) it is so nice. For mains we decided on Elu Mas- spiced goat in a rich onion and coconut sauce with a touch of ginger and chilli.. Thora Malu Mirisata- Spanish Mackeral curry with green chillies and tamarind..lovely..next Devilled Beef - sliced beef with onions, tomato, capsicum and spiced with crushed pepper...to accompany the usual cheese naan and garlic naan, sweet mango chutney, seeni sambol, Malay pickle.. and rice.. so on to desert.. oh dear and we did manage a lovely mango kulfi.. I suppose the only down side is that the restaurant is on Pennant Hills Road and as Sydney people will know this is a very very major road.. but you know other than the fact that we had to park around the corner, the road noise was not audible and an enjoyable time was had by all.. I promise to take photos next time before everybody dives in. Fully licenced and BYO wines only . They do also cater for parties and functions. read more
