Brandon went above and beyond. The store was gearing up (pun intended) for the summer season. He not only took time from answering the phone, answering questions and giving directions to another family, but patiently helped me navigate a computter to register myself and family. So we shopped a couple times at Aspen X back during a multi day visit to Snowmass in March, 2024…read more My wife ended up purchasing a pair of women's softshell ski pants and we each also got a beautiful merino wool skiing base layer. Overall, prices were a bit on the high side, but the quality of items in the store seemed really good. There was also a nice selection of higher end Aspen branded clothing perfect for souvenirs along with some designer items. Where things really impressed us however is that upon laundering my wife's pants for the first time a few weeks later (once we were sure we were done skiing for the year), a zipper pull failed on them in such a way that one of the side pockets was pretty much rendered impossible to use. I reached out to the store via email and they offered me a full refund upon shipping the pants back to them, no questions asked. Yes, we were disappointed the pants failed, but at the same time I greatly appreciate the fact that they stood by the quality of their clothes this way. In this day and age you often are literally just screwed if something like this happens. You cannot go wrong shopping here.

The baristas were nice, especially the German lady, but there are a lot of people behind the counter hanging out. Maybe they were waiting for a rush. There are two sections where you can buy merch, but I only saw one salesperson, helping a customer to fit skates on. The rest were tourists looking at merch, but really just hanging out to have a warm drink and to sit somewhere. Nothing fancy, but maybe that's all this place needs to be.

Excellent place to rent skis in Snowmass Village…read more I am an advanced skier with my own skis and boots, but I prefer to rent when I am traveling. Christy's had the best prices for both Premium/Performance and Demo skis (be sure to reserve online to get the discount, and consider the total price including the damage waiver and local taxes when comparing prices between stores). I was especially impressed with the knowledge and passion the staff demonstrated to understand your ability and then get you onto the right skis for your skiing interests and considering the conditions. I was also impressed by their boot fitting capabilities. I watched several people purchase boots and observed the same expertise and passion I had appreciated with the rentals, so I decided to consider replacing my 15 year old boots that had grown too tight. Unfortunately, it was late in the season so their stock was a little limited, and once they knew what I was looking for (stiff but light travel weight, walking mode) they concluded they didn't have what was optimal to me. I appreciated that they didn't try to steer me to something else just because they had it, so I asked them if they could adjustment my current boots, and was amazed at what they were able to do -- actually lengthening the toe-space by re-molding and shaving the toe plastic to get me more room -- all at a a very reasonable price. I will definitely go back to Chisty's next time I'm in Snowmass.
