I know all the tellers, the manager, and the other specialty account representatives. The teller, Evelyn is a complete sweetheart It's the kind of place you trust because you know everyone who works there. They always ask how I'm doing (specifically by mentioning something they knew from the last time I visited), how the kids are doing, and they know me by name. They genuinely want to make my life more convenient. I'm the customer who never has my account number on hand so they have to always go into the system look at the account number and write it in for me but they never make me feel like I'm a pain. I ran into an issue with their website and went into the branch to discuss it but I was on my lunch break so they took down all the information, told me they'd fix the issue and then call me when was completed and sure enough later that day they called to confirm everything was completed. I recently had a major issue with my other bank, (Bank of America) and got so upset that I pulled everything from them and opened a new Synovus account. I recommend everyone do the same. BOA is a nightmare.

THIS IS FOR CARROLLWOOD BRANCH 16002 N Dale Mabry…read more What we have here is either an out of control eog running amok; or a manager that lost the definition of "customer service." Manager is "Lisa Montero;: ironic thing is she was mgr of Bank of Ozarks (later Bank OZK)...and in fact came to my rehab hospital in 2018 to open an account for me! THat's customer service. Back to the present---I HAD total of approx 7 figures in Bay 1st in form of several MMA's, checking....and then I got "sold" a 14 month CD that matures in Sept 2023 payable at HORRIBLE 3.14%. My other banks/CU's ALWAYS rolled over lower paying CD's for higher new ones---gives me better return---gives bank control of my money for new period of time; PLUS....it's "the right thing to do" to keep customers content. Ms Montero first said she couldn't roll over any CD's; after I checked with their corporate....was told it's "manager discretion." MInd you I've had balances over million.....so Ms. Montero said she'd roll my CD over to current rates and extend it 14 months. At this time....the only CD Bay First had was linked to prime....and being an election year,my spirit told me there were far too many pitfalls to do rollover. This month one of tellers alerted me to BayFirsts new 6.01% CFD for 14 months. It took weeks to actually see Ms Montero and remind her of her offer to rollover my CD. To which she DECLINED!!! And wouldn't even tell me....talk with me....or explain in person! In my world....customer is "always right" and the sole person that can be adversarial is the person who owns the business. To which Ms. Montero is not! Her horrible customer service has cost Bay First over $600k already as I've streamlined my accounts to minimums. And when $250k CD matures...it's gone to a "LOCAL COMPETITOR BANKING INSTITUTION!" I have a large RE closing in the form of a wire that has rerouted from Bay First to same local competitor---whose MMA rates are 1.2% higher anyway. And in next few months ACH's I have being deposited into Bay First will be re routed also. So...Ms Montero and her attitudes and behaviors have cost her branch over a million dollars of LOST business....that is doubled by fact it went to direct local competitor bank. If I was on the board of Bay First and I read this review? Well Ms Montero would have explaining to do! And I'd make it right with disgruntled customer---me! I'm very loud and visible and now (and influence) many. I wager I'm a much better friend than an enemy; but Bay First is not my business. And judging by the way this matter (and millions of $$$$) was mis-handled....one should indeed question the direction and mere sanity of those in control. The true costs of poor business choices and failing customer service and retention brings down companies daily. And to remember that old adage "IT"S NEVER WRONG TO DO THE RIGHT THING!" I challenge Ms Montero to justify her actions were the "right thing!"
