Why 4 stars? Because they had the cheapest stone in town…read more --- --- --- I was hoping to spruce up the curb appeal of my house by adding some stone wraps around my porch columns. It's quite the trendy thing these days it seems, but unfortunately I came to find out that this was not going to be an inexpensive addition. After my contractor and I shopped all around Tampa Bay, our search ended at Rock Solid. They had a ton of different styles to choose from, and at the best price. So why not 5 stars? The delivery process was a bit wonky. I bought the stone, and was told that it would be delivered in 3-4 weeks. But after 4 weeks had passed, the delivery continued to be delayed. I was getting nervous because my contractor had a limited amount of availability to actually install it, and we were about to run out of time. Not only that, but I had recently had my house painted, and the columns were an ugly eye sore of mis-matching paint during this time. Finally, my delivery date had arrived, except for the fact that the sun set that evening, with no pallets in my driveway. The next day, which was also the last day before my contractor had to move on, I made sure to tell Rock Solid that my order HAD to arrive today, or I'd need a refund. I ended up with my shipment around 7pm on a Friday, but not without at least 10 phone calls to ensure it. The driver didn't speak a lick of English, so I actually had to put my Spanish speaking friend on a 3-way call to make sure he found my house. When he finally arrived, he had a print out of mapquest directions, something I haven't seen since around 2006 or so? We had an attempted conversation of how he could get out of the neighborhood, because, well as we've learned - he did not have a GPS. He seemed like a nice guy who had had a tough day, but also had no shyness to ask me for a bottle of water. Rock Solid explained to me that the delay of the delivery was due to them dealing with an outside vendor who they had no control over. My response is - maybe don't sell their product if they are so unreliable? Or get on their asses if a shipment is going to be super delayed? Or under-promise and over-deliver the delivery date? TLDR? Great products. Great prices. Pretty awful delivery process.
