I would give SunBuggy zero stars if it were possible. Some friends and I make a yearly Vegas trip and always look to do something as a group. This year we decided on the 60 minute Baja Chase. Our trip was in September. The company's website describes this as "fast-paced and not tailored for the weak at heart". The company further states: "THIS IS NOT A SLOW PACED OFF ROAD SIGHTSEEING TOUR (if you'd like slow and pretty, we can take you to the Valley Of Fire instead). Your job will be to chase one of our expert Dunies. The only thing that will slow our Dunie down is if he's waiting for you to catch up. At SunBuggy, although we regularly host significant events with hundreds of participants, the Mini Baja Chase is kept to less than seven cars per Dunie to ENSURE that you get a nice, fast ride!" That sounded perfect as we were a group of 7. When we made our reservation, we were told our group would be on our own. The day of our adventure came and all went as planned until we were actually dropped off for the chase. We noticed not just 7 dune buggies, but about 13. We were in with another group. This was the first broken promise/guarantee. We thought perhaps one would go in one direction with us going another. Nope, it was quickly apparent that this was a multi-vehicle follow the leader. To make matters worse, there were some from the other group who had clearly not planned on going fast. The only way I was able to even approach anything close to exhilarating, was to slow way down, leave a ton of room between me and the buggy in front of me, then close the gap. During this stroll through the desert, we were forced to stop, as a group, three times due to mechanical issues. The first was a broken belt which the crew replaced on site impressively under 10 minutes. The second seemed to be a broken tie rod or such and it completely incapacitated the buggy. Those riders, from the other group, were given the option of riding with the crew. I have no idea what else they may have been offered. The third stoppage occurred to one of the guys in our group. A spring, that we had earlier noticed showed signs of multiple welds, snapped off and nearly hit him in the head. He was told to slowly drive it back to base. All in all, when those stoppages and the mid-ride break are accounted for, our 60 minute "chase" ended up as five, short and slow-paced rides. I've gone faster in prior ATV tours this company derides as sightseeing tours as well as any go-cart I've ever driven. I do want to give shout outs to the crew though. Those guys did all they could to try and keep our experience on track. We certainly realize that mechanical issues happen and can't always be anticipated, yet our crew even apologized over and over telling us this was beyond normal. When we were brought back to the office, we were informed that there was no one "in charge" or managerial in on a Saturday. Though everyone from both groups wished to lodge complaints, we were told our only option was to send an email. This was a glaring red flag. The staff told us that we'd get a response in under 24 hours. Those emails were sent. After three days of no response, we sent a follow up email and then called after several more days of no response. We were told during that phone call that someone would get back with us later that day. Yeah, that never happened. We kept in touch with the other group, and they experienced the same lack of response. It was at this point that both groups initiated disputes with the credit card companies we used to book the reservation. I will offer, that there are multiple signs around the office that there were no refunds. They all explain that extra time will be provided in cases of mechanical failure. We were offered no additional time. In fact, when we arrived back at the starting point in the desert, another large group was waiting to ride the very buggies we were in, so we assumed the company would offer some amount of refund or, at least, a return ride at a later date. We just heard back from the credit card company and they've dropped our dispute as SunBuggy told them that we received our 60 minute ride. Wonderful! To sum up, SunBuggy did not adhere to their own stated and advertised description of service. They also did not fulfill their own promise of an isolated chase for our group alone. Lastly, no one ever bothered to return our emails or phone calls to hear our complaints, and they lied to the credit company falsely stating that we received what we paid for. Las Vegas has almost unlimited entertainment options. I would suggest to anyone reading this that they choose anything other than SunBuggy. They may have gotten some great reviews on here, and I don't doubt that those people got what they paid for, yet our experience details how this company will deal with issues that fall short and that should be all you need to go elsewhere. Patient and accommodating as i muddled my way through paperwork and payments, friendly and engaging as we chatted about my bucket list adventures there. Great customer service. Did a one hour single dune buggy chase. Had a great conversation with Kurt out on the sand while waiting for my other excursion participants. Nice guy. Had a few relatable laughs of our military service. Had the pleasure of chasing "Good" Karma through the dunes. We had an amazing experience with SunBuggy! Larry picked us up on the shuttle at the valet area in front of our hotel. He also fitted us for helmets and was so nice. My family with two teens rented dune buggies and rode two per buggy. Karma was our guide and she was awesome! She went over safety measures, explained the details of how the excursion would go, was considerate of me not wanting to speed race, and knew the quirks and qualities of each buggy well. Terms On January 5, I was contacted by Scott Bradford, asking for our (my family's and my) experience with our Mini-Baja X (60 min) Sun Buggy experience, on Dec 29, 2025. ( reservation # 236159 ) When my daughter booked the activity, she was given an 8 am reservation. We arrived at 7:45 am. Even though all our paperwork had been signed ahead of time, we assumed we'd need to be there earlier for set-up; helmets and instructions. We sat in the waiting room until 10 am while other groups arrived intermittently, mostly by shuttle, up until 10 am. The only staff member who spoke to us was the one who fitted us for our helmets. Obviously, we were frustrated with the long wait and didn't understand why "our" reservation was delayed to accommodate all the later reservations. Why were we not shuttled to the trails for our early reserved time? One couple, arrived at 10 am and conveniently for them, they were added to our group shuttle and ride. During our long wait, not one staff member made an effort to talk to us nor apologize for the inconvenience. Once we were on the trail, my husband's buggy broke down and we sat there for another 25 minutes while a replacement buggy arrived. We do understand that sometimes these things do happen, but, our guide did not hide the fact that he was "put out" by the situation. When I communicated this to Scott, rather than acknowledging the frustrations of our experience, he said it was normal for an 8 am reservation to start "just after 9 am". Furthermore, he made excuses for his staff. He expressed that his staff wanted to be with their families during the holiday season and that the company had to "make due" with the staff at hand. Then he thanked me for my perspective and said he "really appreciated my detailed feedback". Seriously? So much for customer satisfaction. No apologies, no blame on the part of the company for the long delay, nor of the staff's behavior while we sat there for 2:15 hours. And even though the experience with the guide was so-so, I left him a $25 tip, because it was the right thing to do. I wrote back to Scott a second time, expressing my frustration over his lack of concern for our experience. He did not write back. I'm very disappointed that our experience was ignored. A reputable company would have compensated in some way. Scott did not respond to my second email, I called 702-644-2855 twice. On the first call I spoke one staff member, explaining the situation and hoping to reach a higher-up manager of Sun Buggy. I never heard back. The second time I called, the staff member did follow through, and notified Max- Billng Manager, who did get back to me. I asked for him to consider a fair refund for our experience. Once again, no response. It is clear that neither Communication nor Customer Satisfaction are priorities with Sun Buggy. I am extremely disgruntled after spending $1200, and reaching out with calls and emails, that I am being ignored. I was hoping for some resolution. read more

I do recommend making these rides late summer where you aren't cooking outside in the desert. We got picked up by Mike which was the realest driver I know he got us to a warehouse for further instructions. Then rode out to the desert where pretty much the guide takes you out... .. It was so much fun and worth the wait Juan was our guide and definitely worth it but I'm lucky to have a husband and knows ATVs pretty well so if you honestly aren't comfortable don't do it. What a disappointment this was - wasted an entire day and thousands of dollars for our group of 12. They talk all sweet until you pay, and then have the worst customer service once they take your money. Their vehicles have terrible maintenance and their safety standards are pretty low. We had 3 buggy breakdowns during our ride out of the 6 double seaters we rented. Throttle cable broke on the first one. The second one kept stalling. Then third one had a dead battery and a fuel leak - which they continued to ignore until it got worse. We kept stopping, waiting, and sweating until we got to a place they called the half way point. Once we restarted, the return leg was extremely short -- under 10 minutes, compared to the expected 30-minute second half ride. It's unfortunate as the track and location could have been a fun experience. Instead, we lost a precious day in our rare reunion. On top of all that, they never respond to any of my emails. I first reached out a couple of days after the ride on May 11. You get an auto-reply that they'll get back to you in 48 hours. Then you hear nothing. I called and get pushed around. Follow-up emails get no response. I finally got a hold of a lady who sounded kind and helpful and promised a response in a couple of days. And then ghosted me entirely. It's now been almost 6 weeks and they dont care about even hearing me out. Stay away from these guys - they'll take your money and leave you out to dry. First off let me tell you something! You have to try this place out for real! Like for real!! We arrived the day after they had a down pour here in Vegas which made the weather cooler and the Sandy dirt muddy but muddy fun! All I can say and warn you is don't wear any good shoes or clothing because you shall get dirty! They have a shuttle that will pick you up from the hotel you're staying at in Vegas. They also will bring you back to your hotel when you're finished with your fun. On your way to their facility they will have you fill out some paper forms again. No worries or need to get upset it's just some more verifications. They will also have some bottled water available on the ride to the facility. When you arrive to their facility they have free water and signs about dehydration and the symptoms to look out for. They will have you sign our waivers if you didn't do it online before arriving; however, I will recommend to fill it out online before you arrive. They will size fit you for your helmet and issue a pad lock to use one of the wall lockers to store your belongings in. The have fest fruit available to snack on while you wait and an ice chest full of bottled water. They will also take you to their briefing to brief you up on their safety guidelines and local habitat of endangered species to be watchful for. Once they are ready for you or your party they will call out your last name(s) and load you on to their bus to take you to the trails. When you arrive at the trails the tour guides will talk you and assist with getting your ATV or buggy started. They even have a porter John available to use out there too. Depending on the time you paid for it will either be 30 minutes or an hour of fun. You will have two your guides one leading and one trailing behind to ale sure there isn't any stragglers. Your safety is truly their concern the entire time your riding. They kept an eye on everyone with our party. Our tour guide was as Charlie from Houston, TX and Pierre who goes by P was also from Texas. My whole crew was from Texas. So that made their day today. P famous quote of the day was "Get the south out yo mouth!" LoL Even our bus and shuttle drivers to and from the facility were awesome and enthusiastically joyful. They made our experience even more joyful because of the friendly customer service they provide. When returning from riding they will have more bottled water to drink from and some Powerade popsicles to eat as you wait for your shuttle back to your hotel. Highly recommend this business! It was so much fun. Ruben was our guide, he definitely made it fun and safe for me and my husband. It was my first time driving ATV so i was very nervous in the beginning, he slowly built up my confidence that at the end of the ride, i was more comfortable driving the steep and sharp turns. My husband was more experienced so he instructed him to keep a safe distance from us so he can still go faster than my pace. We were the only ones who booked the ATV in our shuttle group so it felt like a private tour for us. I docked 1 star because if you budgeted your time for the day, you will need more than 2 hours (as advertised) so you are not rushing. We had to wait for the rest of the group who went to on a different tour before we were able to head back. In the past, I've normally associated Vegas with EDM, copious amounts of booze, and overpriced meals that left you hungry for more. Second time with these guys and we had an incredible experience once again! We visited in June this year and booked the ATV tour and dune buggy chase dakar combo adventure. We got picked up by Mike the driver and headed to their offices to watch a safety video and get our helmets. Food was offered as part of the tour, so we went to the service station on the way and chose what we wanted. We arrived at The Valley of Fire and went on our tour. The tour was fantastic!! Patrick and Eric (ATV) are so good at what they do and made us feel safe and welcome throughout. We stopped off and had lunch in a little cave that looked out over the valley. Absolutely beautiful. It was incredibly hot so making sure you're hydrated is is a must. Water is provided so no need to pack some yourself. After the ATV tour we headed over to Jimmy to take us on the dune buggy chase. He was incredible too and also made us feel welcome; we had such a good time on both tours and would recommend booking this experience. Be aware you may need gloves to reduce blisters. I didn't realise I had one until the end of the day. Something to be aware of. Communication at the business needs improving. We booked the 8am pickup, but got a rude awakening at 6am by the driver saying we are hard to get hold of and pickup is at 7am!!! We also had an email from them at 6am asking what hotel we were at. This should have been confirmed at least the day before like all other tour operators did to confirm all details so we didn't have such a stressful start to the day. AVOID THIS COMPANY and GUIDE KURT! Our guide Kurt took off, the buggy in front of us was going slower and caused us to be left behind. We couldn't find the group. We followed the directions of the introductory video which were to stay put if you get separated, then when Kurt found us, he disciplined us at us to stay with the group. (yeah we know, trust me I did not want to be alone in the desert). Then Kurt further yelled at us because the buggy died while we were waiting for him to tell us where to go to find the rest of our group. 10/10 highly recommend!! The day started out with a super prompt pick up from Rick! He called me about 35-40ish min prior to pickup and told me where to meet. He also texted me a photo of what he looked like which was super helpful! The drive to the Sunbuggy office was quick - about 15-20 min from Bellagio (where we were staying, and where we were picked up). Registration/Safety video etc was super quick and easy. Lockers are available for free to put all your belongings. When I booked, I told them it was my wife's birthday and Rick acknowledged that as soon as we got in the van and then sang Happy Birthday with his guitar right before we got out the van to load into the buggy! We did the 30 minute Mini Baja early bird ride (7:30 am) with a 2 seater Dune Buggy. Our guide was Shane. He was awesome! He was patient with us as we caught up to him on the trail. Lots of fun bumps/dips and terrain! The desert is absolutely beautiful at that time in the morning. Return right back to my hotel was quick (despite a little traffic) and easy. I HIGHLY recommend SunBuggy. Ask for Rick & Shane, you wont be sorry! Honorable mention to Shauna (front desk) and Terry helping us out in the desert. Everyone is awesome!! I couldn't visit Vegas and not go ATVing, so I search Groupon to see what specials I could find and came across a decent deal from Sun Buggy. Booked it and had a great time! The purchase included whatever preferred ride & gear you selected, a Bandana, shuttle pick up and drop from your your hotel (on the strip) and water. My wife was a first time riding and our guide Gage did an amazing job with answering any questions she had and making her feel comfortable on the machine. He even took some pretty dope pictures of us afterwards, one of the highlights of the trip for sure. The only reason I'm holding off on a star (4/5) is because there was some confusion about when the shuttle was suppose to come back and pick us up from the site, and we ended waiting almost an hour until someone was able to get us. The equipment is in utter disarray. For $230 a person for single karts, you would think they could manage to keep up with basic maintenance. There were 4 of us in our group. We were bussed out to the dune location where we waited 20 minutes for the employees to prep the karts. We were the first group of the day so we already knew they were running behind. It seemed like they had just gotten there right before us. During this time I started to notice how bad the equipment was. The starter switch in my vehicle was not anchored to the housing. It would push into the frame when trying to lift the switch. I would have to hold the back of the switch with my other hand while starting it with my left. I also noticed that both of my back tires were completely bald. You could see the threads all the way around on both sides. There was also about a foot long strip of rubber hanging off the back right tire in the middle, exposing more of the threads underneath. Immediately after taking off, my friend's kart cut off and would not start again. We had to wait a few minutes while one of the employees messed around with the wires above my friend's head. Eventually it started again but it did not bode well for the reliability of the equipment while out on the trails. Later, while going down a hill. This same friend realized that he had no brakes. He had to drive off the trail and into a bush to stop the kart from rear ending a couple that was not part of our tour. The guide didn't believe him and chocked it up to my friend being nervous. The guide's advice was to position himself behind one of us so that in case he can't stop, he'll be rear ending one of us and not the random couple. This did not improve during the entire drive. He just had to create distance between the rest of us and be cautious when going down hills. Another friend had bald tires on the outside because of the absurd positive camber. You can tell how long the kart has been like that due to the bald outer edges. Additionally, only his back right tire was getting any power to it. We found this out the first moment we hit softer sand. All of the employees kept saying things like, "All gas, no brakes!" It was quite the opposite. I was pressing the gas half way down for the majority of it ride and had to press the brake for 1/3. This led us to getting stuck on the way up a hill because we weren't able to maintain speed. My friend's back right tire was the only one spinning. It took 25 minutes to get unstuck because of this. During this time, the couple outside of our group was driving around and got stuck with both back tires all the way to the frame. The single guide was unable to fix it on his own since it was a much larger kart. He then asked if we could get out of our own karts to assist him in getting the couple unstuck. This is absolutely wild to me. Why is there not a recovery vehicle for just this instance? It was quite embarrassing to know we paid a lot of money for this experience, only for our time to be wasted with assisting in recovering THEIR equipment while others watched. After recovering the couple, we diverted our route from going to the top of the hill. I could see that we were headed back to the parking lot due to time constraints because of getting stuck for so long. Even though we had spent maybe 10-15 minutes of actual driving. On the way back, that friend got stuck multiple more times. Again we waited for another 18 minutes while other guides dove back there and switched karts with him so that he could drive back to us. We then drove back to where we started after an hour of being out there. Even though we had MAYBE 20 minutes of actual driving. I wish I had my phone to take photos but we all left them in the lockers. I have never been so disappointed with a paid event such as this. Steer clear of this company and choose a nicer group of RZRs to tour with. Update: reached out to the quality assurance team on November 11th and was told to give 48 hours for a reply. It has been 13 days with no reply. On par with their terrible service. Do not waste your money. Second update: I told you that your quality assurance outlet is terrible so you respond by telling me to reach out to your quality assurance team. Hahaha that's rich. That resolution is a testament to your service. I don't want a "Re-fun." You have already lost my confidence many times over. I won't be wasting more time revisiting for a bad experience. We had a blast out at apex with Shane as our buggy guide and Matt as our driver. The buggies rode great and just fast enough to add some adrenaline to your veins. Highly recommend these guided tours. read more

Last time we tried it , our buggy was broken at the just starting of the 1 day tour so that we got gift cards we can try it again . Then in 1 year this time , we tried 1 hour buggy . I thought it was the same tour , but my husband chose extreme buggy . And I didn't know that one was extreme one . I drove for 30 minutes half of the beginning . I got shocked because I was totally out of control driving . Also I didn't expect that . I thought our car would get roll over and crushed . I'll never do it again . But I can do the first buggy we tried last year. It was more like tour and just driving. The first one was more enjoyable. Our guide was nice at the both times . read more

Updated to address owner's response: Please look at Destiny's (the owner/staff member) responses to rightfully critical/negative reviews before booking with this company. Her responses are nasty, so just keep in mind that that's the type of service you will get from this company. - I didn't have an issue with the complimentary shuttle making stops at other hotels for other patrons; my issue is with the lack of timeliness with everything. Notice Destiny didn't provide an explanation for why we sat at headquarters for an hour and some change doing nothing before going to the tour location. - her review is basically "your expectations were too high for my company," and you know what... she's right. ----- The ATV tour itself was fine, but the scheduling is AWFUL omg. I felt like we were being held hostage (sarcasm) at one point bc we were there for SO LONG waiting to depart for the tour location and then we waited SO LONG to be picked up from the tour location. My two friends and I scheduled a 12 pm tour on Friday, April 28, 2023 and the company then scheduled our hotel pickup from the Venetian at 12 pm. It's weird to schedule the pick up at the time that we wanted the tour to begin, but I figured they knew best. Wrong! Around 11:50 the driver called to say he was running late. He arrived around 12:10-12:15 pm and then told us we had to pick up another customer. After picking up the other customer, the shuttle driver drove the 20 or so mins to the SunBuggy headquarters where the hostage situation began. While there we got helmets and other safety gear, and watched a 5-10 min safety video, but for some reason we all were just waiting around for about an hour and fifteen mins before being shuttled to the ATV tour location in the desert. No one at the headquarters informed us as to what we were waiting on and I was frankly irritated that staff didn't feel the need to be transparent. (Keep in mind here that we booked a 12 pm tour, so at that point we were almost 2 hours behind schedule.) We finally arrived to the ATV tour location around 1:45 pm after a 15 min ride on a (raggedy, air condition-less) bus. The tour itself was fine, but once we were finished, we waited about 20-30 mins for the bus to pick us up to shuttle us back to the headquarters. Mind you, we had to wait IN THE DESERT under a tarp without proper seating or a restroom. Wtf. Why wasn't the shuttle waiting on us when we completed the tour? My friends and I were so tired of being stuck with this company that we forewent the complimentary shuttle back to our hotel and opted for an Uber instead. We had had other things planned that day and wasted so many hours waiting on this company to render its services. TL;DR: poorly scheduled and organized. Lots of sitting around and waiting. Do not book if you have other plans for the day! read more
