Driving from Columbus, GA to attend church on 02/15 was absolutely worth the two-and-a-half-hour…read moretrip -- and I would do it again without hesitation. From the moment we arrived, the experience was incredible. I let one of the ladies at the front door know it was my first time visiting, and despite how busy she was, she went above and beyond. She personally walked my daughter and me to Rock City Kids, helped get her checked in, walked her to her classroom, and even waited to walk me back around to the front of the building so I could enter the sanctuary. It was such a small gesture, but it meant so much. That level of kindness and hospitality really set the tone for the entire day. Once inside, I had the opportunity to sit near the front, and honestly, it felt like an out-of-body experience. I've been watching Pastor Mike's services online every Sunday since I don't live in town, but being there in person was completely different. Being in the presence of the Lord, surrounded by other believers in fellowship, was surreal. Praise and worship in person was powerful -- the floor was literally shaking as the congregation worshiped and praised God together. You could feel His presence moving throughout the room. He was moving through the congregation, and He was moving in me. I've never felt that excited to be in church before. I was truly on cloud nine. Pastor Mike delivered an incredible sermon -- thoughtful, powerful, and impactful. I'm really enjoying the three-part series he's been teaching. You can tell he takes his calling seriously. It probably doesn't even feel like a job to him because of how genuine and passionate he is. He breaks everything down in a way that's easy to understand, gives clear notes to write, and explains each point thoroughly. When I left, I felt confident enough to share key takeaways and bullet points with friends and family because the message was that clear and impactful. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. I would absolutely recommend attending in person, and I'll definitely be making that two-and-a-half-hour drive again

I love our church. We came here with our neighbors on our first visit. I was a bit skeptical…read morebecause I knew it was a big church. But they do a good job of making you feel welcome and making it feel like a small church. The best way to get to know people is by joining a small group. There are a ton from which to choose. Most are organized by age group but there is more than one per age group so if you pick one that you don't love there are others to choose from. You are encouraged to try several to find one that is a good fit. There are three services from which to choose, 8, 9:30, and 11. Pastor Buddy is the lead pastor and he really is the kindest, most caring man. Every week he tells us he loves us and I believe him. He's a good speaker and he makes it easy to pay attention to him. The building itself is really nice and well cared for. The children's area is adorable and looks like something out of Disney World. There's kids church for grades 4 to 6 which is a nice option for preteens. And there's a whole separate building for the teenagers. There are lots of options for Wednesday nights for the whole family including dinner for a small fee for those that want to eat at the church. Plenty of parking, including shuttles to take you right to the building if you have to park further than you care to walk. But there is a parking area near the church for guests and there are staff members waiting who will help get you and your kids situated. I hope if you are reading this, you will give Hunter Street a try. You just might find it's the right church for you!

Christian, large ACTIVE well run youth program, bible study at the church, option for small groups. We found everything we asked for right here. Like pastor Buddy said, "Please find a church home. If Hunter Street isn't for you please find somewhere else, but find somewhere." What a great place. Lets start with youth and move up. Birth -5th grade A really cool innovative check-in/out system on the computer to safe guard your little ones as they move through the "Bug's Life" looking tunnels(hallways) to the age specific class room. 6th-12th Once your child gets to 6th grade they move across the parking lot to the youth building. Rock climbing wall, pools tables, ping pong, fusball, and basketball. 2 different areas for highschool and middle school. And a juice bar. Adults 2 stories of class room for bible study Book store/coffee shop Lots of coffee selections and a very large amount of books for purchase. A massive sanctuary and a cozy chapel.

Finding a good church can be very difficult these days, especially if you want one that teaches the…read morewhole truth and not some watered down version that makes you feel good about yourself with no expectation of actually living like Christ. A2 has become our family. The pastor is humble (a rarity these days), and treats people as equals not as his subjects under his rule. The people we have met have been genuine and kind and accepting. There is a marriage ministry that offers several get-togethers each year from dinners to conferences to one day marriage seminars. The men meet for breakfast and Bible study once a month. There was a women's ministry for a time that ended up falling apart, but it is in the heart of many to rebuild it. I know this will happen it just hasn't yet. The youth meets every week on Wednesday nights and the youth pastor is a great man who is humble, kind, loves the Lord and loves the kids he serves. Our children's ministers are wonderful women who are passionate about teaching the littles how to love God and worship Him. It's not just glorified babysitting. It's Christ-centered truth teaching based on the Bible. There is a dedicated prayer team that meets every Wednesday morning to pray over the church's needs, and beautiful, amazing things happen in those meetings. We also have A2U which offers Bible study on topics such as Old Testament Theology, the Trinity, evangelism, and others. Sometimes there's a cost if there is a book involved that needs to be purchased, otherwise the class is free. God is doing wonderful things at A2 and more is happening beginning this fall. Some hard things: we are a mostly white church that has mostly "white music." We do not sing gospel songs or hymns, though sometimes hymns are thrown in as led by the Spirit because they minister in a way that is beautiful. We do have other ethnicities attend and there are conversations happening as to how to make them feel more included. However, we are about Jesus, not personal preference. We do not cater to the individual. We cater to the Lord. If you're looking for a church to be all you want it to be, you'll never find the "right" church. If you think church is about you and filling you up with good feelings, A2 is not it. We address sin and hard things and strive to work out our salvation with fear and trembling together. We love God, and we love His people, but we are not perfect. We desire to grow in Christ and to live holy lives. Come as you are but don't expect to stay that way. Jesus died to change us into His image. He did not die so we can get out of hell for free and continue to live sinful lives. Come and check it out!

I seriously cannot say enough about a2 Church. For the past three years, this church has become as…read moremuch as a home to me as my actual home. I found out about a2 from a friend and attended my first service in December of 2013. First of all, a2 Church is a non-denominational church. The atmosphere here is relaxing and welcoming. When you first walk in, you will be greeted by several greeters at the front entrance to the church. Once you enter the lobby, you'll likely be greeted again and can find many families and friends standing and talking, waiting for service to start. If you are new and have kids, a greeter will point you to the kid's room and nursery (students age 6th-12th grade join the adults in the main room). Service times are 9:00 and 10:45. A typical service will look a bit like this. Service kicks off with about 20-25 minutes of worship with a high energy, live band that will play 3-4 songs varying from upbeat and fast, to slower songs. Worship is followed by a 30-40 minute "sermon." For anyone who dreads this part of church, I can tell you that you'll never know what you are going to get, but it won't be boring. Often times, the message will incorporate live art, illustrations, or involvement from the body. You'll be sure to laugh at any given point of the message as the lead pastor is quite comical and can laugh at himself. Service wraps up with the band coming back unto the stage to play another low temp song as prayer teams spread across the stage for an opportunity for the body to receive prayer from partners. So what do you wear to church? Literally anything! Casual dress is perfect. You'll see several guys and girls wearing jeans, t-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops on a Sunday. We don't discriminate here, as long as you are wearing SOMETHING! Looking for a place to plug in? This is the perfect place for anyone, but more specifically young adults. I was 23 when I first started coming and I was in search for a small group to join. I found just that and made friends instantly. No matter what you enjoy, you'll find a small group that fits for you. Oh, and it's not your typical "sit in a class room and read Bible passages" small group. Small groups range from, young married groups and women's group, to ultimate frisbee groups and men's grilling and chilling groups. We love community and want it to be live giving and fun! In long (because this review is far from short), I love this place! For the first time since I was involved in my church youth group as a high schooler, I have found a place where I belong. a2 Church is my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. It also doesn't hurt that I met my soon-to-be husband here! :)
