That was fun This is certainly a good spot for anyone visiting the city nearby lunch spots include sweet greens ( good salads) and many others There is also a cafe in the garden and restaurants on the first floor of the building

An extremely underwhelming experience. The gondola ride (official name Ariel tram) is very short…read moregoing up, but is slower to go down. The distance you ride is 148 feet. Do not blink, you went or came down already. The area itself, once you reach the park, is luscious in greenery, which I absolutely love - nature versus buildings on buildings. The exterior of the park offers ample seating - 1-2 person wooden benches (think two kid chairs side by side). On the perimeter of the park, upon reaching the top are dancing fountains that appear when a transit bus below goes over a sensor. It was pretty cool to watch, but the frequency was extremely minimal for my daughter to experience a few times while we made our way around the path to locate the park. The is a beer station and possibly pizza slices, I'm not sure. It said Joyride on the booth of the beer station so... A live DJ played tunes close by while bystanders listened and talked nearby. There is a coffee shop on the opposite side of the gondola. It is behind glass doors to the left after entering. You'll notice something by the appearance of chairs, people and chatter following a void of none. The park is on the opposite side upon entering. right before teaching the DJ area and beer station. To call it a park is an insult. It is a play structure of climbing the same climb across a span of not much to occupy my little person beyond 10-15 minutes (being generous). She was ready to depart after she made her climb twice across the structure. We will definitely not return. My expectations are my fault, watching influencers video overhype the experience. I return fid the same to my daughter, resulting in both our firsts shared a disappointment. If you arrive via public transit from the Salesforce Transit, go down to start of where the buses are (38, 5, 7...) and depart from and cross the street to the other half of the Salesforce Transit building. Do not enter, make a right walking away from the building. The gondola entrance will be at the end of that block on your right. I would encourage everybody to try the experience at least once. If I were solo, no little one. I can see myself reading a book, writing in my journal or being in my own world. If it is a beautiful space, just not what I anticipated. The rooftop park and gondola has been around for quite some time, but was opened to the public in 2019 to enjoy.

It provides some good neighborhood space. Part of being in The City is understanding how many really special things you can come across living in San Francisco. This is one of those special places. After our walk over the Golden Gate Bridge we decided to spend more time here admiring the magnificent views of downtown San Francisco, Alcatraz and of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. Aside from being open space with a beautiful view, Crissy Field itself has such a distinguished rep with tons to offer anybody looking for or seeking a place to de-stress, relax, walk along the beach or spend the day with friends and family. Never ceases to amazed me. Anyone who enjoys tanning or a leisurely stroll, this park is for you. Don't forget to apply sunscreen and grab your sunglasses. Clean and nice place with amazing views of the Bay and ample side street parking. Fun Fact: Crissy Field was a U.S Army airfield which closed in 1974 due to unpredictable weather of the San Francisco bay area. ** The following review reflects my experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. **…read more Given the exorbitant real estate prices in San Francisco, I'm surprised this little enclave has not been the subject of a political firestorm over who could own such a desirable lot. Alas, back in 1971 when we were all still recovering from the Summer of Love, the Board of Supervisors decided to let this space become a mini-park, and 49 years later, here it is. The area is just 25 feet wide and goes down a gentle stepwise slope for 125 feet where a concrete opening is surrounded by bench seating. There I saw a concrete pig in its own boxed pen and a young backpacker getting some shuteye. The landscaping is quite impressive. Worth a respite during a pandemic.
