However, I was intimidated to be starting from scratch. I had a million ideas and a yard full of bare, boring dirt! Miriam helped me uncover the purpose behind the project, so we could design a space that was both beautiful and functional. She has a deep understanding of what grows well in Prescott, and she was comfortable telling me "no" if a certain plant would not do well in a certain spot. Her top priority is to design a landscape where plants will thrive, and homeowners will feel successful. Throughout the project, she listened, asked great questions, and accommodated changes to incorporate our favorite flowers and veggies. With her flexibility and creativity, we were able to find plants that would "be a good fit" for each area of the yard. It was such a relief to have someone with deep knowledge of native, drought-tolerant, budget-friendly species for our exact microclimate. I was so impressed with her expertise, and she had so many thoughtful tips that could only be learned through her wealth of gardening experience in the area. Miriam was professional, honest, and reliable with communication throughout the process, and we are so pleased with the final design. I hope that her advice and attention to detail will help me as I bring these plans to life in our garden. And~ If you are looking for design services in Prescott, you are in capable, experienced hands with @MiriamCarlson-Maier from The Whiskey Porch!

I don't know where to start. The Unique team is AWESOME! We purchased our home in Prescott 2…read moreyears ago and the builder / original owner had done nothing to the back yard. In addition, some of the original "work" around the home was substandard; poor drainage, gutters emptying right along the side of the house, etc. We had spent the better part of the 2 years trying to decide what to do, as well as trying to find reputable and reasonable firms to hire. Unique was recommended to us by a friend that had recently used them. After the first visit from Melissa, we knew we had found the company we wanted to hire. Melissa took our "rough" ideas and in minutes articulated a vision that "clicked" with us. Then before we received a proposal, Melissa called and said her husband Kevin wanted to come look at the project because he wanted to make sure he could do the project right before they committed to it. When he arrived, the first thing he said was that we had to get the drainage correct. First landscaper we had spoken with that mentioned drainage before we did. Fast forward, and they completed the project, exactly as they proposed (with a few adds we asked for), on time and for exactly the price that was quoted. NO SURPRISES, no hidden fees or charges. I addition, the quality and professionalism of Mario and Manny was "out of this world". They were a pleasure to have with us for 3 weeks. They constantly asked us to inspect what they'd been doing, as they wanted to make sure that we were HAPPY! They took great care to do things right and to clean the site thoroughly when done. In summary, Unique offered great design ideas, showed up on time, kept us advised on all status issues, did great work, had a wonderful team on site, came to do a thorough walk through when done (to make sure we were happy) and did this all for a cost that was well within reason. They are truly the GOLD standard for landscapers in The Quad City area! Highly. Highly recommend!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Nethan Acosta…read moreand the great team from Arizona Modern Landscapes. We had been planning our huge landscaping and hardscape project since March 2023 and we developed our own rudimentary plans. We solicited more than 15 companies to come out and develop proposals for us. It was quite the experience good, bad and ugly including time wasters and charlatans. We met some great people and the best were Zebra Landscapes and Manzanita Landscapes for what's turned out to be an enormous undertaking. But from the beginning Nethan was patient, an excellent listener, responsive, knowledgeable, confident, understanding and competent. He made many visits over many months to earn our confidence and our business. Work began three weeks ago at the very end of October 2023. Work will finish in 2-3 weeks. Includes turf, pavers, spa, Gazebo, huge trees, irrigation, massive lighting, putting green, campground for grandkids, fire features, extensive fencing, huge amounts of fill and dirt and much more. Perhaps most importantly after many similar projects before returning to Yavapai County this year, we have never seen a harder working group of men led by Eduardo, and his crew Eric, Joaquin, Juan, and supported by many vendors and supply man Adrian. Frank is Nethan's right hand man and Alex is the fence guy. These people have become family and give us confidence each and every day that our hard earned money is being well spent.
