On Boxing Day lunch time I had the special which was roast beef with mash and veg. I want it all over again as I type this. The meat was just outstanding. I also had parsnip soup to start. The soup was so good that I had it again when I returned later in the week. At lunch time again that week I had the traditional favourite sausage and mash. Wow. Just wow. Yummy sausages, creamy mash and crisp green peas. It doesn't get any more home cooked than that. A good selection of beer on tap including my favourite Peroni. There's plenty of parking, an outdoor play area for kids and the staff are always pleasant. This is a place I would return to again and again.

Eastwood has been long overdue a new pub to increase the range of Real Ale available in the town…read more Some pubs were worried that when the Wetherspoons opened (right next to Iceland) they may have to close due to custom being taken away, however I've not heard of any pubs closing yet. This Spoons has a smallish bar area with all new fixtures and fittings giving the place a classy look. Past the bar area is a large seating zone, with a mixture of small and big tables, and booths with their own lighting controls. Fancy! Beer selection is good as expected, I would like to see a few more interesting microbreweries on the taps but it's definitely a step in the right direction. The dessert and a coffee for £2.49 is a perfect pick-me-up at any time of the day or night.

It's the newest addition in a spot that is long overdue for a new fresh venue. It's cheap cheap CHEEEEEAAAAP and if nothing else that's a valid reason to visit. The food is great. The beer is great. It's always busy. Service is attentive and it's clean and modern. There's a special on everyday of the week. Drinks, food, and a daily food+drink deal on offer. At around six quid for a meal and a pint I can't see what all the griping is about. I've eaten a variety of the daily deals, chicken, curry, beef, and they have all been lovely. Sure it's a bit sterile but you can't beat it for value. No music (who cares?), a tv, good wifi, clean and spacious.

Was surprised and happy to see Dark Star Hophead so far from home too. Quite a bit of food choice, including a selection of pies. It's a 10 minute walk from the nearest bus station in Milford, a little remote and easy to miss (God bless Google Maps!). Very popular with the locals. There are several good pubs within a short radius (this one, the Strutt-on-Arms & the King Williams IV). Get a zig-zag ticket on the Sixes buses from Derby so you can hop on and off at the various stops of your crawl.

Here you'll find four cask beers on hand pull and four on gravity in the fridge. There are also four ciders or perries in the fridge too and the staff will help you out choosing the best beverage for you. Very well placed for transport links (literally seconds away from the Hilltop/Castle Street stop of the Trent Barton Rainbow One) this small pub used to be a bookies or something similar and is now proving a much better service to the community. It is also dog friendly so long as the 50 capacity isn't reached and humans need a place for a beer instead! The range and quality of beers is excellent and I ant recommend this place enough for anyone who loves real ale and craft beer.

This is a pub where the locals go after work for a few pints. they show th emain football matches and at the weekend they have local bands playing. With a small dance area the jolly colliers offers entertainment for the local community. The pub is run by a local family and has a very friendly atmosphere. The only downside is the parking is very limited so you may have to park a few minutes walk from the pub itself.
