On a recent weekend away to Ingleton, this is one of the few pubs that we visited for dinner. It's…read moreactually one of the nicer places, as despite a plethora of country style places to eat and drink, Ingleton (being a tiny village) is a little lacking in the 'atmosphere' department. As for the building itself -it's delightful. There's a patio overlooking the chapel out the front, which would be gorgeous on a sunny day I'm sure, and a spacious wood cabin type feel inside. The front door leads to the dining area, and although there's promise of a real wood fire, sadly we didn't get to sit by it. Being as it was about two miles from where we were staying, it'd have been a bit of a walk, so driving it was. The staff were very friendly, and the meals are classic pub -I could have gone for something a little more exciting from the menu, but after a full day of walking by the waterfalls I just wanted easy meats. It was certainly a tasty meal, and filling, but perhaps pricey for what it was. My companion partook of their only (if memory serves) vegetarian meal, pasta, and informed me that it was 'alright'. What they seem to lack in that je ne sais quoi where food is concerned, they make up for in lovely staff. The waitress checked on us plenty of times, and we received a fairly warm welcome from the bar man. They've a number of ales on tap, although not enough to quite say it's a beer drinker's haven, and it's certainly a cosy spot. As mention, I think this was my favourite of the pubs we visited during our stay. Perhaps a little more 'vibe' and it'd be perfect-it was a Saturday evening and there wasn't much going on! To be fair, it's out of season, and it is a tiny village so not really the pub's fault. In any case, if you're in town, I'd recommend stopping by for a hearty feed and a pint by the fire.

The food was fantastic and we would definitely recommend this pub. Multiple cask ales (5 if I remember correctly) are available.

We were staying in a caravan park just down the road and needed a place to eat in the evening. We…read morecame across this delightful pub within a few minutes of searching. We spent the remainder of our holidays here, every evening. Nestling by a brook full of eels. The pubs dog, Jasper, loved to just stand in the cooling water on the hot evenings that we experienced this July. Sufficient room to sit outside with plenty of tables. Service is second to none. Professional, efficient and, more to the point, friendly. Great selection of real ales, my favourite was the Cromwell. Now to the reason for frequenting this hostelry, the food. A reasonable menu taking into account the position of this pub. A good varied choice of fresh seafood, burgers, curries and steaks. We tried most of them and they all were extremely tasty. All cooked to order. Great mussels in white wine. Behind the bar is a blackboard describing their Naga 'Viper' curry made with, 'officially', the hottest chilli pepper. Underneath is written 'Curries ordered 528, curries eaten 400' LOL. I love hot curries but, even I, would not attempt it. We hope to make a return visit next year. Many thanks to the 'guvner', his wife, the staff (especially the chef and kitchen staff) for making our short holiday break a total delight. See you again.
