MINUS TEN STARS!!!!!! SCAM!! SCAM!! SCAM!! They take as many as possible even when the property is already approved. All they do is make their money off of rental applications. I am not a disgruntled applicant my rental record is spotless. Update!! 11/13/14 I received a phone call from the manager who then refunded my application fee. He was very professional and apologetic and explained the misunderstanding. I therefore rescind the above review. read more

I worked with Rebecca Vasquez and the service was awful. As an out-of-state investor, communication is critical, and there basically was none. I was always the one reaching out. If I didn't call or text, I wouldn't hear anything at all. When a tenant finally moved in on January 12, the company was paid immediately, but I didn't receive the security deposit until January 25. Completely unacceptable. I will never work with this company again. I've never written a negative review before, but this experience absolutely warranted it. Hopefully this helps someone avoid the same mistake. read more

We rented from them for a few years. We did every single item they required upon move out, which included carpet cleaning, bug treatments, lawn in perfect order, etc. We left the home in way better shape than when we moved in. They kept our deposit and sent a fictional list of reasons why. When I began the process of trying to reclaim my deposit I realized the primary reason why the owner is also a lawyer, lol. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more

We've used Sun Cove for years to manage our properties. Always professional and responsive. Highest regard!

I'be known Rob Rochlin for years. He really knew what we wanted for our forever home. After looking at many homes, we could not find the right one. He did not push us to buy an existing house, but said he would keep us in mind. He did and he found us the exact home that we live in now and love. Thank you, Rob! read more

Ugh! I met a Leasing and Sales Associate at a house in Tampa at 1:00, the viewing was over at 1:10. The Assoc. was in a rush to get out the door before I had a chance to even peek at the 2nd bedroom. I got a bad feeling about how this company would take care of their residents after my experience. When I asked about repairs that must be done, hole in the ceiling from a roof leak, rusted air handling intake vent, the Assoc. said I can complete a punch list after signing the lease. Uh...... No thanks! read more

This company was recently acquired and under new management. Rob's knowledge and experience in the Tampa and surrounding market is second to none. Rob was accommodating, honest, professional and always available during the sell and purchase of our homes. Hands down the best property management company I have had. I have been an investor for a long time and have dealt with many companies. Sun Cove has made it easy to access my financial info and have been on top of repairs big or small. I am always able to reach my property manager, 7 days a week. As an out of state owner I have to trust that they are looking out for my best interests, and they do. Give them a try, you won't be sorry. read more

We scheduled an appointment with Emmy to see a unit in Tampa and she cancelled our appointment and texted us she would reschedule. I am not sure if this is a legitimate company and am researching the company further. read more

We applied for a rental property with them awhile ago. When they showed us the house they said there were no applications on the house. We paid the application fee online as instructed as soon we got home. 2 days later they called us to tell us the application was approved but the house had already be rented to someone else. Instead of telling us the truth that someone else had applied for the house, they took our money and ran our application anyways. They said our application fees were not refundable however they offered to let us use the approved application towards a different house that they have listed. Its a scam to make sure you rent from them even if the house you actually want is not available. There was nothing else we liked with them so we lost the money. We argued with them with out any success. After complaining about it to our friends and family we found several other people who had also lost money the same way to this company. Skip anything on your list that says is listed by sun cove! Luckily we later found a house we liked much better with an honest company. read more

I moved at 11810 Miracle Mile dr, stayed there for 1 yr. paid a deposit of $2700. When I moved this scam of a company charged me for an interior paint job. The walls did not even look bad. I hung up a couple of pictures. They sent me $700 back for my deposit. The house was dirty, grass or bushes were not cut. Bathroom tub and sink was dirty. And 4days after I moved in the home they decided to send over a carpet cleaner because the carpet wasn't cleaned when I moved there. I don't recommend anyone to do business with this company ever. Runnnnnnnnnn! They are full of BS. Scammers! read more

Horrible service. They lied about a house we wanted to rent so we would apply. Took our $70, and in the end told us the truth. Wouldn't refund our money or help us out in any way. I called and had many email dialogues with them, yet they weren't apologetic or willing to wake the situation right. Stay away. read more

This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. Ever. If I could negatively rate, I certainly would with this company. They managed the condo I lived in, and I didn't renew based strictly on how awful SunCove is to deal with. First while we were trying to get our application in, nearly every day they would call with some new thing they needed ASAP-- if you had just told us everything you needed from the beginning then it would have all been included with the initial application instead of making us scrabble around to get you everything, especially since they said they wont hold a place while an application is being worked (first time I have ever heard of that btw). When we looked at the place they had cosmetic issues, all of which we were told would be repaired before we moved in. When we moved nothing had been fixed- and I'm talking chunks literally missing from the walls, the pantry door was just plain not attached etc. So we filled out the condition report and submitted our requests for repair. This also included the shower faucet that was broken so it was like taking a bath and shower at the same time! Not even two minutes later she e-mailed me back saying "the owner refuses the repairs". After 2 minutes I doubt they even notified the owner of our repair requests. I'm not a frat boy, so we repaired the walls ourselves (color matched the paint-- which don't even get me started on when I asked about repainting since they didn't before we moved in) and we fixed the door and re-hung it ourselves. Long story short- they repaired nothing the whole time we lived there except when the air stopped working and when the toilets backed up (which the plumber told them they REALLY needed to be replaced-and (shocking!) they refused). Now let's talk service. Oh my gosh--every single person is so rude I swear they send them to some sort of seminar on how to be the least nice person you can be! One time the mail had some glitch which caused my check to arrive late, so even though the check was a cashiers check (can't alter date) and post-marked prior to the 1st, they wouldn't accept it, so I had to rush to get another cashiers check that included a late fee and drive it all the way out to them at 8 that night because it would accrue a % each day it's late. Oh I'm sorry, I don't have a job or a life going on- it's cool, I have time for that. Not to mention the lady was impossibly rude and uncompromising. If it's post marked, that would mean the mail carrier messed up- why am I being penalized for this?! So when I asked to speak to her manager (since she was such a witch) she said "she's not going to tell you anything different so I will not transfer you to her" I'm sorry what!? That is never an appropriate response. She said she would take a message and she would call me back - I never received a calls from her, even though I left multiple messages. I know this is getting novelish so I'll skip to the end. Remember how I told you about all the repairs we made - we certainly left that place in much better condition then when we moved in. They had the audacity to charge us $160 from our deposit for "carpet cleaning" 1-we cleaned the carpets before we left, there's no way it needed that deep of a clean 2-the whole place was mostly hard wood - only 2 bedrooms had carpeting! I know for a fact there is no way that cost $160. If so they got majorly ripped off. So we called to inquire about the charge. And called. And called. No return call. Ever. I finally managed to get ahold of the general manager for all of SunCove after the 9th message we left. She was nice but then said "well it states in [somewhere] that we don't respond to any questions or disputes via phone Call, only in writing do we accept and respond to any such thing." I told her even if that is the case, it is NEVER OKAY to just simply not return a phone call. Never. I would think it would be obvious that we weren't aware of that so even if she had just called to say I'm sorry but if I have refer you to my email, we cannot handle this without it being in writing, I would have been okay with that. But do not just ignore a message. I could not believe it. There are many more negative experiences with SunCove but I don't want to waste any more of our time- so hopefully that gives you and idea of how dishonest and unrespectable (yes I know I made that word up) this company is. I cannot stress Enough that you save yourself the headache and stay away from SunCove. read more

Rip off alert! This place is a scam. They show a beautiful house for rent then ask for $60 application fee per room mate. Like people in previous comments said before, it's really unfortunate that you can't negative rate this company. I am moving from IL to FL, I had an appointment set up to see a place that they have for rent, the woman that was supposed to meet me (Tonya) managed to forget about my appointment (yes, a realtor that forgets about appointments), then I rescheduled with a guy named Toby for the following day at 10 AM. 4 hours later I get a text from someone telling me that the property has been rented. Yep, not a call, a text. Just like a bad breakup, except I am glad it happened. Nope, don't do business with these people. read more

Suncove did an excellent job for my family. We rented a home and, due to unforeseen circumstances, had to cancel our lease early. Their office was more than fair with us. Saw a couple of listings on Zillow where Sun Cove was the property manager. Clicked the "I'm interested" link in Zillow with my info attached. Called and left a message Friday, called and left a message Saturday. Finally made contact with a real person on Monday afternoon. The lady was nice and gave me a number to a guy who would show me the houses I was interested in. Called the number, left a message. Sent a text. No reply. Tuesday called left message, sent text. Got a reply saying he wasn't the guy I was looking for, gave me another number. Called new guy, left message, send text. No reply. Wednesday called, left message, sent text. No reply. Called office. Was transferred to another guy. Made contact. Told third guy I have been trying to look at the houses since the previous Friday. He said he didn't have anyone in that area but he'd make arrangements to get someone out there and let me know. Thursday...tick tock, tick tock, patiently waiting for call to see houses. Called third guy Thursday afternoon to see if he found someone to show me the house. DOH!!! He forgot I was waiting to see the same house he himself had just showed but asked if I had filled out the application yet. At $60 a pop (and I needed 2 pops), hell no I haven't filled out an application. I still hadn't seen the inside of the house. Inconsiderate and disorganized. Go elsewhere with less hassle. read more

This company managed our rental property for 2 and a half years whilst we lived in another part of the country. They did an excellent job helping us to get it prepared for rental. They made sure it was always kept in excellent condition and always helped us in getting really good people to rent our home. We have recently sold our home but because of the care they put into managing our home as a rental there was no delay when it came time to sell. We were never worried even although we were far away because they always advised us well and it paid off. Thank you Sun Cove Realty. read more

I am relocating from Miami to Tampa so it's difficult for me to be available from one minute to the next to see a house. I originally applied for one property but it was leased in the process. When my approval came back, they asked if i would like to use my approval for different property. I said i would check the available options and call back. I did, and it took 2 days for someone to call me back. By then that house was also taken. I had a back up choice and asked that they use the application for that one and asked to set up an appointment to see the property. I got a call back the next day saying that i would be emailed a lease. I let them know i still wanted to see the property and they transferred me to the appointment department who in turn gave me an agents number to call. 2 days later, i still have no lease in my email and i have not received a call back from the agent. I called someone else. Now that i read all these reviews, i am glad i did. read more

This is a horrible company do not do business with them. They do not return phone calls or emails and have false advertisement. Stay away.

So we found the perfect house, in the perfect neighborhood, and we were so excited! We put in our application that night as soon as we got home. It took a week before we heard anything from Sun Cove Realty. When they finally contacted us, thy said our application was approved, however they chose another applicant. We were in disbelief!! What a bummer to know you were approved for the perfect house, only to find out they decided to give it to someone else. I called them back to try and get an answer and understand better. They couldn't give me an answer! So now we are stuck having to find a house with this idiotic company since they have our "non refundable" app fee. I'm very disappointed with this company! read more

Wow I wish I would have seen these reviews before I rented from Sun Cove. The reviews are spot on. Their service is the worst I have ever had to deal with in my professional or personal life. They surely don't deserve the 1 star I gave them. I will give them kudos for replacing the air conditioner the day we moved in but that would be the only positive I can give. Matter of fact if they had done their job they would have known the air did not work and could have had it replaced before we moved in. Instead we had to move in with the house over 80 degrees. If the air would have been the only thing they overlooked I could understood but there are so many other problems that it does not seem like they prepped the house at all. I have been here a week tomorrow and 90% of the problems have not even been addressed. Some of the problems are keeping us from unpacking all our stuff and has us living from boxes. If you decide to deal with Sun Cove expect to have phone calls and emails not returned in a timely manner or not returned at all. The leasing agent will say anything to get you to sign on the dotted line. Do your research before dealing with them, unless you want to feel the same pain I feel. I believe Sun Cove considers the owners they manage for as their only customers they sure don't think of us renters as customers. read more

I agree with the comments here, this company has a huge customer service problem. I think they do not enforce any customer service standards with their employees. I can list the problems that I had with them, but they all have to do with customer service and professionalism. If you can, just do yourself a favor and avoid them. If you do rent one of their properties, cross your fingers that nothing will go wrong, because if issue would arise, you're not going to like the way they'll handle it. read more

Probably one of the worst companies I have come into contact with, and are a borderline scam. Its no wonder they do not have a Facebook page because I am sure they will just get blasted. Their customer service is a joke, they are not willing to help, and do not return phone calls. But if you do happen to speak to someone, they simply push for you to spend $65 (per person, non-refundable) to apply, and then tell you to just keep checking their website. If you find a house you like, its gone by the time Sun Cove returns your call, if it is returned at all. I am curious if the actual homeowners are aware of how poorly their homes are represented. I would suggest avoiding Sun Cove whenever possible, there are plenty of other options to choose from in Tampa. read more

this realty doesn't even deserve one star. they do not answer or call back ever. we are moving right away. do not go with them.

Stay AWAY SCAM SCAM SCAMERS at Sun Cove Realty, they gave me a laundry list of to do's when I left my town home. I already was warned about them taking people's deposits but I made sure I did everything exactly like they requested. And after almost 2 months they returned $400 of my $1100 deposit. They claimed I didn't clean the carpets even though I gave them the receipt from the company THEY recommended. They said I didn't clean the town home when I actually spent two days cleaning EVERYTHING ( I have OCD so yeah) They also claimed I broke the blinds but they forget that when I moved in they were already broken but they never fixed them after I asked. They won't answer your calls, they take days to call you back and if you go in person they won't speak to you face to face. They ask you to send them an email even though your in their office but they can't handle all the heat so they walk away and say they can't do anything unless I email them. SCAM SCAM SCAM but everyone pays for all theirs sins, hope you enjoy working at Sun Cove lying and stealing from your customers. I will NEVER EVER rent from you again. Incredibly poor service. After viewing three properties with Sun Cove realty, I submitted my application explaining that I was self employed and did not receive pay stubs. They informed me that as long as I could provide proof of income it would be fine. After taking our $70 for the application fee, three days later they informed me that bank statements clearly showing deposits and balances in my accounts weren't valid. I then had to provide them a copy of my income tax returns, profit/loss sheets and other papers that prove my income- which was more than enough to rent the property. After two more calls and two more emails I finally received an email two days later informing me my application was under review. This was 2 weeks ago and I've yet to hear back after two more calls and emails. If you have an extra $70 to throw out and a few weeks worth of time to waste, then Sun Cove is the company to call. read more

My husband and I will be moving soon and we consulted with Sun Cove. The person we dealt with (Shelly) was extremely pushy when we expressed interest in a home. We were looking at several homes with different agents but when we chose one of their properties, we wanted to see it one more time before making our final decisiion. Then, it suddenly became an urgent situation where we were told we seemed "undecided" and that there were other people lined up who really wanted the property and who were willing to pay a deposit within 24 hours, and that their properties go really fast. My husband and I just didn't feel right about it and definitely didn't appreciate her pressure tactics. We were not going to be bullied into an expensive, long-term, commitment so we told them we were not going to rent the house. After that, we heard from our current landlord that Sun Cove was horrible. He even told us that Shelly was "a real piece of work" when she called to verify our current rental. Then we saw all of the complaints about them out on the web. So glad we didn't make a huge mistake. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!RUNNNN!!. So we rented from these people for 2 yrs. at the end of said lease we followed all instructions for leaving. One month later they send me no deposit but a bill for a bunch of insane items. They charged me for things that were mentioned on their first walkthrough (before movein) that even had pics. So basically they robbed me. I went thru the bbb to file complaint with proper documentation,,,,,this gets better,,, they call me today 1 1/2years later and offer me $200 to resolve the complaint. They stole $1500!!!! They claim its not their fault but the owner of the property. Well, I signed all the rent checks to them. Way to do nothing you guys. Please save yourself and do not use this company as your property manager. They are very unethical in their contracts. They make it so you can't get out of the contract and loose all your money with what they always call "emergency repairs" then give you a run around with excuses. You don't ever know what's wrong with your property, what was fixed and why. They have these expensive vendors who charge whatever amount they desire and you would just have to pay for it, you don't get to have any saying at all. I am sure they get a nice chunk out of the repair money or else, they wouldn't go to that extend to keep you in the dark. My contract states if repairs are over $300, owners would be notified but you don't get notified because all the repairs they do are considered "emergency". Getting information from them is like pulling teeth and the information you receive is all bull shit. They'll avoid answering your questions when they can't explain something. You'll end up with a lot of time wasted, blood boiled and no rent money from your tenant (because they use it all to pay their vendor). They gotta be the worst property management company in town. No wonder their BBB score is F. read more
