This is the best doggy day care! My dog loves it (he goes to many many day cares and I can tell he…read moreloves coming here the most when I drop him off) They have a large outside area for dogs to play in and the inside is always clean and does not smell like pee. They keep the small dogs behind the counter and the larger dogs separate. I think they also let the dogs play based on sizes. The best part is that the owner and the workers truly love dogs. You can trust them with your babies and will go the extra mile to make sure they have fun. The owner also tries to train the dog once in a while. I come here every week and it tires my crazy dog out. Also, they have the cutest dog beds and decor. (Not for sale but for the dogs to nap on during doggy day care)

However, I assure you that I have no reason to be dishonest and was indeed a client. I have vivid memories of the wooden sliding doors (with gaps between the door and floor). I also recall sitting near the glass door (facing Guinard) so that I could easily step outside if a larger ( my baby is very small) dog entered the narrow waiting room. There was never much grass but it was enough to allow my baby a quick bathroom break. I stand by the following statement with the hope that Guinard Animal Clinic will make changes as they care for Sumter and its surrounding communities. "Please don't fall for anything this veterinarian or the employees say. Many errors will occur and instead of immediately addressing them with you they will dismiss or deny what you say. Even when I chose to leave (bill fully paid). They were reluctant to give me my dogs records. My motivation for writing this review is that I spoke to a friend last week (a dog trainer) who had the same experiences as I did. Let me add that other than repeatedly speaking to the people at Guinard Clinic I moved on and have never since shared my story. For those who choose to stay. I truly wish you the best." If a client requests records we will provide a printed copy or email copy which ever is easier for the client when requested; so we are unsure why you would imply that we would not provide yours pet's records. We work very hard and have dedicated professionals who have committed their careers to the veterinary industry not to the dog training industry which are two different career avenues. We wish you the best moving forward and hope you are able to find a veterinary facility to fill your veterinary needs." Poor business practices and customer service…read more Care/treatment is nominal/satisfactory. They charge you to write scripts for medication you don't buy through them so that any money you save ordering those medications will be null. A scummy business practice for sure. Had I known this policy I would have not bothered having my wife ask for scripts but she ended up paying for it. A few weeks later when it came time to order the meds I selected to have Chewy call them, but they refuse to authorize the script over the phone and Chewy called me at 7pm Monday to tell me I had to mail in the script. I went to the clinic Tuesday afternoon to buy a single dose since I needed to give them to dogs today. I also asked to just be refunded for the scripts since we weren't really saving ourselves anything and now we have the headache of snail mailing scripts. I got a call back today from the 'head receptionist' who informs me that her manager (who should have had the professionalism to make a 2 minute phone call to speak with me directly) said they will not refund the scripts and furthermore they couldn't dispense more medication to us without us returning the printed paper scripts. So the fees were like $30 for the two scripts. We have already spent close to $1000 at this clinic and with our 6 pets likely would have ended up spending much more, which is fine we care about our pets and want them to have the car they need. However this 'policy' is treating us like criminals and scam artists. Maybe some people scalp scripts for flea and tick meds... who knows but, these aren't horse tranquillizers or anything they are parasite prevention meds for 5lb dogs. When I raised this point that they would likely lose my business over this I was told that is my option and they don't really care. So good, cya later bye.

And they told me I was suppose to take him to west columbia location. I was like wth.. but she showed me a text that mentioned west columbia but then they sent me the address to irmo location .. i just need a good groomer, this area is short on qualified groomers. I'm from Florida and had the same groomer for all my dogs for 15 years. Hear I've had him at 5 different groomers. I promise it's not me . And of course they blamed me for there incompetence. So sad, considering opening my own grooming shop. For people who just can't find a shop here. Terrible experience.

They were filthy when I picked them up and they reeked of urine... 4.. their bedding was soaked with urine...claimed they knocked over water as they were leaving...when I questioned why the blankets were soaking wet with urine I was told "oh,if we had known we would have washed them...and yes they smelled them and acknowledged it was urine... 5. Bathed them as soon as I got home and they had several ticks on them! Don't they spray areas to prevent that???I know I do.... I am soooo disappointed with them....i now really question their care....i realize it was a holiday weekend,but this is unacceptable!!

Rascal…read more Had been going to Dogs Way Inn for many years when recently we needed to kennel our dog for a family trip. Unfortunately, we had one of the worst experiences any pet owner can imagine. Our dog was staying for nine nights from 7/12-7/20 and the condition I found our dog was quite frankly disgusting. I knew something was wrong when the first thing the receptionist said was, Oh, I'm supposed to tell you that your dog has had diarrhea since he got here and we've been giving him something to try and help. Hello, did anyone call my wife or I to inform us of this? Or ask about giving him something without our knowledge? NOPE. Did anyone call me or my wife later in the week to tell us he is still having issues? NOPE. Upon seeing him and taking him out to the truck, his entire rear was covered in feces! Did anyone clean him up to present to me? NOPE. What kind of kennel hires employees who don't take the time to fully check the dog over that they are bringing out? Do they just not care? When I walked him out to the truck he was so lethargic, he could hardly get up into the truck. I immediately drove to our local Vet who recommended some meds to stop the diarrhea and suggested I try and get a stool sample. Unfortunately, he was so lethargic and I subsequently discovered completely dehydrated that it wasn't possible. Upon getting home and a much closer look at his condition, I noticed something red around the side lips of his mouth. He was bleeding on both sides of his mouth from complete dehydration. We tried to give home some water, but he wasn't interested. When the gave him a thorough cleaning. Unfortunately, his fur is stained with the constant feces that was on it. Later in that morning my wife received a call from the receptionist who said we would be getting a phone call Amy later in the day and now offered a free bath? It's now Wednesday and Amy finally called my wife and asked about our dog and if there was anything they could do? Where was the care and concern when we left him in your custody? Really, over 48 hours after we've picked him up and literally round the clock care by us we finally get a call? Wednesday morning was the first day he has had a some what normal stool which we could take to the Vet for testing. His mouth is healing but he has some hanging skin on the side that may need further attention. He is slowly getting his strength and energy back and having an appetite. But should any pet owner have to go thru this? Absolutely not!

I can tell they spend quality time with my pets and follow the extra steps to correctly administer medication. They are also very neat and tidy, I don't come home to any dirty petfood dishes and the house is always locked up securely. The sitter even remembers to put the garbage bin out, which I always forget to do! We will definitely continue using and recommending this service to others in the area.

My other two cats are still kittens and need to be worn out. Kathy always spends a little extra time with them to make sure they get some love, attention and exercise.
